My favourite Imperial warship is probably the Avenger-Class Grand Cruiser. She's described as a Line Breaker, with heavy cannon batteries down both flanks and massively powerful engines, so she can just charge straight into the middle of an enemy formation and slug it out in a point blank brawl, going broadside for broadside. She the embodiment the Imperial Martyr, Saint Leroy of Jenkins
I never quite jived with the Avenger series of Grand Cruisers, the lack of armoured prow and dorsal weapons just didn't fit my prefered method of engagment, I prefered the Furious Class competion winner that those ships were based off, take a Repulsive, cut the prow off and bolt on Retributions Admech at it's finest, almost as much broadside and it's got the torps, armour and dorsals of a morden Navy battlecruiser
As a humble factory worker, you are definately on a mechanicum list to be turned into one of those funny little talking skulls bud. Even in death you will still serve! 🤓
Thanks for reminding me of my battlefleet gothic armada addiction! Imma go and sink in another 50 hours in the game for the imperials, and then maybe another 30 for the necrons!
Love the work , I will use at least 1h 40 min of my 2 hours of weekly rest in the Archives , this lowly worker will be going to the protest for 10 grams more of corpse in our monthly rations.
Thank you Citizen! This unit is glad you have chosen to make such generous use of your allocated break time. Just be careful you don't end personally contributing to the increased corpse starch rations! The Emperor Protects.
2:32 So nice to see the Imperium spreading the word about Chaos. By the way Mr Skull have you heard the good news? Tzeentch loves you and wants to upgrade all your hardware for free plus give you a vastly expanded database. Come to the underhive next Thursday at 8:00. We will.have punch, pie, and books of forbidden arcane knowledge.
@@ServitorDominusPrime Sadly hes not allowed to attend the meeting. The last time he showed up he ate all the yummy corpse starch pie without even asking dear Brother Magnus if he wanted a piece. A few members even thought that Kaldor had some kind of problem with chaos cultists. Personally I think Kaldor was hanging out with the wrong crowd. That Emperor guy is a bit of a bigot if you ask me. I mean come on are our xenos brothers and siaters really all that bad? But Tzeentch bless him we can only pray that one day the Emperor will accept the Chaos gods into his cold, dead heart. May the blessings of the Four be with you, Mr Skull. PS That was fun. 😂 Thanks for being such a good sport. Great channel. 👍👍
though I have a few nitpicks which I think could be improved! - the video's lore context could be better. For example, the video seems to take part in current 40k but you mentioned the Imperial Truth, which is an all but forgotten concept in the current Imperium. Also, the mention of Nurgle in a video which seemed to be directed towards imperial citizens, who would be straight up killed if they knew of the existence of the 4 gods of chaos let alone one of their names. - it would've made more sense for the notable ships part of the video to include only Imperial Cruisers, given the theme of the video - don't quote me, but I thought Rogal Dorn already had the Phalanx when big E found him?
@@SPARTAN_B-312 thanks for the interest and the suggestions, in response to the first point; the videos are (in my head) made as a sort of data file that would be available in official historical archives on Terra meaning that things from various time periods can be referenced as these scholars would have access to all classified records, but I accept your point that it doesn't make a lot of sense canonically. The second point yes I agree but I just wanted to put in a few cool mentions, I again accept the point though. I'm pretty sure Phalanx was given as a gift but I'm open to being shown the truth if I'm incorrect. I have only been making videos for around 3 months so hopefully they will become more refined as time goes on. Hope you enjoy my content now and going forward. The Emperor Protects.
The mass and lenght stats seem the same for light and line cruisers. Also no grand cruiser pattern has a Nova cannon, nor the Emperor Battleahip or any other a ptow lance. The Victory and Apocalypse has prow nova cannons, as well as maybe the Terra class though that is a semi canon hobby magazine ship.
Wow, you clearly know a lot more than this unit! I merely piece my reports together based on the best knowledge I can access at the time. I may occasionally get things wrong or not be 100% accurate. But I am going to just blame Tzeentch. If (and probably will) I make another video about a different category of Imperial ships, I may DM you to check the stats etc. I hope you at least found the video entertaining if not totally accurate. The Emperor Protects.
@@ServitorDominusPrime Don't worry about that, it is just a nitpick if you want to go into the IN. I used to make a mod for bfga2 that had many more official and semi official fan magazine ships added. The official ones had been added to the wikis since.
Man, anyone else feel that the vid didn't answer the question of how powerful the ships are ? ( besides just a quick mention of city destroying weapons which doesn't really mean much)
Noted! Thanks for the feedback it helps, it also makes it easier to prioritise what needs improvement. I will keep that in mind when writing my next video/video title and hopefully have a more definitive answer to the question posed in the title. The Emperor Protects.
@@ServitorDominusPrime Cool, video was really great and quality was off the charts for only your second video ! it was just that after i finished enjoying you video I just thought "wait so strong are they tho ? " lol
I'm gonna be brutally honest here, and keep in mind I am *not* trying to come off as a complete asshole. Anyways, I absolutely can't stand the narration being done through a synth or whatever was being done to it. Thematically it's cool, but I made it about a minute and a half into the video before i had to stop.
No offense taken here, this is a learning process for me! Feedback is always welcome that's what helps me know what to improve. I will try and address that in future videos, hopefully they'll be more to your liking. Thanks for the comment, Blessings of the Omnissiah upon you!
I'd personally say that the voice is not the issue for me (I think it's actually really cool! & well done). However, the pacing is a bit off at the begining. It's perhaps a bit too slow & ponderous, with pauses between bits of dialogue being a bit long. The fact that the voice is *noticably* different after the intro is also a bit jarring, but perhaps a clue as to how to go forward. I found it much easier to settle in to the voice for the main part of the video. Still, the robotic voice of the servitor is a cool idea. Even the extreme version for the intro. I'm sure you'll figure out the balance that works best for your content.
@@DaniDeFig I have noted the issue with the voice between the intro and the first chapter, I can confirm that will hopefully not be the case in future releases. I will work to try and improve the pacing too! Thanks for the feedback though, It really helps me focus in and prioritise what I need to improve.
@ServitorDominusPrime What I think might help, and this is Of course, just an idea that you change your voice after the introduction in the beginning of the video. Like changing channels on an old radio ""scratch, scratch, scratch"", "normal, amicable human voice acquired." And then you just continue in your normal voice. Changing only at the end of the video when thanking the audience.
