Understand, it's somewhat challenging to see it that way when you come from a society that has constantly told you women are superior sense you started school, and you only found out your upbringing was in the minority when you got into college. that minority isn't that much of a minority anymore too. I visited the Philippines where prostitution was legal and all the women were okay, in fact they enjoyed their profession because sex feels good and they make a large sum of money off it. Also violence wasn't an issue because if something went wrong the police would show up right away to solve the problem.

If you had the right paperwork you are correct

Due to a legal technicality, porn actors are not paid to have sex, they are paid to be allowed to be filmed, while they are having sex.

It also has to do with art. Films have been legally defined as art and therefore qualify under 1st amendment rights. The government can't tell you what you can or can't put in your movies, which I guess includes porn.

When prostitutes get raped, they can't go to the police and report it because they'll get in trouble. We need to make it legal so that we can regulate it and make sure that people aren't being hurt.
