please don't double tap the like button on the video... i tried and nothing happened :( . Also in case you missed it, Crossout is free to play and right now you get some bonus items for trying it out so give it a try: playxo.link/cbell
I think you are doing a great job teaching, like insanely. I’ve tried to teach other people stuff and not once have I ever thought about analyzing how they learn to adapt the my teaching methods. That amazing
i kinda feel like she just lines up her whole car with the ball. can u try to impress on her how imprtant lining the cars bumper up with things is really important.
Certifiable best coaching video series. Showing the mistakes and the solutions to those mistakes make this an invaluable resource for all levels of play. And Emmie continues to show how a positive mentality makes overcoming these obstacles way easier
The set up at 12:28 really shows that emmie is starting to understand it, the set up to that ceiling pinch touch looked like a champ or even grand champ movement it was really good to see
I agree with the first part it’s just what she did after the pinch that looked a little lower ranked but the setup like you said was high diamond and champ
@@hankystanky68 as SOON as she hits the ceiling and her car isnt doing what her brain is expected the car to do, aka what she predicted, she cant control it it's the playing proactively vs reactively i cannot for the fucking life of me control my car in the air reactively, so i relate so fucking much with this issue of her lmao im a c1 peak (d2 now) 1400h player, and yeah my aerial game is lackluster
I've been hard stuck diamond 2 and 3 for the past 2 years, but after watching video #8 and this video, I grinded freeplay for nearly a dozen hours, and it has helped me so much, that I am about to break into champion 1 today, these videos are amazing. Keep up the great work Emmie, I will be following and moving along with your journey to grand champ 👍
Finally someone explaining that common RL coaching just does not work for everyone. Good luck Emmie I am also struggling a lot to improve (air roll is a b*itch). I am still diamond 2 after a lot of hours even though I only try hard everything I do since the beginning (quick play, ranked, freeplay, workshop maps). Hitting champion is definitely the hardest thing I had to do in my life in term of focus and consistency.
since you have workshop maps use leths rings and just use it without air roll so you get a feel of how your aerial car control is and use air roll only to orientate your car the right way when going through turns. If you have to stay on level one cuz you cant make the turn to get to level 2 still helps tremendously. You are still learning. Start with basics then you can transition to continuous air roll, and that i thought was impossible because i never could keep my car up while always air rolling
Check out aircharged gaming he just did a great video on how to get from diamond to champ. Looking at more positioning etc than mechs. It might help you a lot. This season is definitely more difficult than previous ones to rank up though
i think my absolute favorite thing about this series and something i think a lot of people can learn from is her attitude. The mental side of this game is huge and i think that is helping her learn much better is keeping a positive outlook even when you do things wrong.
As someone who's quite a bit further along in the GC journey, I can completely resonate with Emmie's style of learning (it's my wife's name so this is one of my favorite series!). Props to you CBell, for such a great breakdown of the thinking that goes through my mind as I practice and train. Great tips for improving, looking forward to the next episode!
Good Progress, Well Done Emmie! I will keep saying this on every comment section though... Please get her practicing dribbling. Being able to keep the ball on your car for a minute without boosting is by far the best practice for slowing down and learning precise ball control.
The Emmie content has helped me a lot. It feels like getting back seat coached at times. Also, the enchilada conversation 100% made me lol. Thanks, man.
I found the method that made me learn easy off-the-wall doubles was holding my stick diagonally when jumping, as it would orientate my car in the direction of the ball instead of in front or behind it. When the speed of play will inevitably increase, getting a fast touch and aerial off the wall to double will be key, and the diagonal-down stick hold seems to make that really consistent for me. Also, learning how to fly upside down massively helped my car control in the air when i was learning several years ago. Props to emmie for holding air roll while getting a touch so her car doesn't recoil, that's easy to forget when aeriaing.
I feel like I’m learning so much from this series! It’s one thing to learn and another to understand it, let alone practice and put it into effect though… It’s rough times in solo queue I gotta admit. But I’m enjoying practicing and I feel I could get better for sure
6:35 - I cannot stress this enough. I am from a country which had the best teaching based on every barometer. Yet, it was not earlier than 2017 this fact was discovered about learning. They looked into highschool level students who absolutely shined in math, physics, and biology but sucked at chemistry and languages, for example. It revolutionised the teaching completely as it was not anymore about "repeat until memorized, forgot everything after the exam".
As a mechanical player, I think I know what she’s doing wrong, she is waiting like a teeny bit until she goes of the wall, so it is hard to recover and if she tried to do it in game, she would run out of boost before actually getting the double tap.
I learn in the same way. When I was learning how to play pool better, I had good people explain things in depth to me on how certain spins affected the ball and that allowed me to learn them and use them effectively. Same thing in Rocket League for me. I have been having the same struggles as emmie with aerials and this was helpful to understand why it is happening.
Man I wanted to hear that enchilada banter, in all seriousness though I love this series, it's wonderful to see her progress and CBell has an amazing, chill coaching style that just vibes with me. I'm eagerly awaiting the next episode :)
Man, I was hoping to see this series till the end, but I guess it's just discontinued. Started a little over half a year ago and I got to Diamond (similar point to where Emmie was at) I was hoping to follow along on the journey, but I guess I'll have to go watch some road to SSLs instead. Feelsbadman
CBell I feel like I've never gotten so much value from something completely free. All of her problems are my problems we must wired the same way so these videos feel like a personal course just for me it's insane.
I have never been able to even set up the air dribble. But I actually understand how to set it up and how to learn and practice it correctly. I genuinely dont think any other video helped me understand the whole process like this
Ary you going to continue this series? I'm learning a lot from this and I'm really rooting for Emmie and I proud of her progress! I hope nothing bad happened
That's so crazy how I was doing this within my first month playing and some people learn car control so slowly and inorganicly that 5 years later they can't do this. I guess you gotta be the kind of player that dreams of hitting a cool shot and actually wants to grind a new mechanic in freeplay. She has always been content to play 1s and stay grounded.
Been doing 85% when trying to learn something new. I think wayton as well did a video on warp up at reduced game speed. Helps to get your brain Rollin. Good stuff
I am gonna go practice double taps now. I got the air dribble setup down pretty well finally. Looks like I found my next step. Thank you emmie and CBell!
Been stuck in Diamond 2 for a few years now. Been playing RL since it was free on PS Plus. Watching Emmie progress is motivating to go into free play and improve myself
I feel like mentality is the number 1 think holding her back. She's scared to go for something difficult/out of her comfort zone in fear of missing the ball or failing. All she needs IMO is 30 mins a day of what I call "look like an idiot freeplay" where you go super fast and try to do things that are treally difficult or speedy or out of your current capabilities. Eventually you get adjusted to that pace and become more consistent
yes, building confidence is #1, but that also comes with practice and i feel like Emmie's confidence will improve as her mechanics improve. Hesitation is natural when you are trying something new.
Im gonna be honest Cbell, it seems like your rushing her, in my opinion she shouldnt be doing airdribbles and double taps because she doesnt have good car control so you need to help her on that instead of doubletaps.
it's not really about getting her consistent with double taps, just learning them enough to land one. Having her spend time on controlling the ball up the wall is part of car control, and it should translate to other things. If we'd be spending multiple hours masterring double taps.. that would be a different issue
@@CBellRL i understand what your saying but im pretty sure that is not the best way, anyways i would like to see you help her be able to speedflip kickoff because it can help you win and gain possesion alot in your games and helps you rank up.
I am watching this series for the 4 time now and i gotta respect how well these videos are done one thing tho and this is for the people who has come back to rewatch would u guys agree that CBell as amazing as he is is kinda being a little bit to genorous with Road to grand champ champ plan I feel like some of emmies mechainces just dont match up with some of the scores yet mabye it is beacuse i am able to critize myself is the reason why i think so since I am a little bit better then emmie but some of the champ plan scores feel high even for me so that why i am asking for what you guys think as well.
What's her aerial and steering sensitivity? It looks like every small tap she's making over-steers her so maybe look into that? Hard to control the car on a higher sensitivity before you learn on the lowest ones! (could be too low of a deadzone as well)
I need a full tutorial video on how to jump off the wall to reach the ball! Although this will help. Excellent coaching by the way. I really appreciated when you said "this isn't how she learns" as very few coaches of anything consider adjusting their coaching style based on how their student will learn best.
You are the best freaking teacher, I literally learned how to air dribble through your session with emi and now I learned to double tap. I still suck but I got it down
This proves that a great teacher can get the best out of anyone so long as they take the time to learn the person they're teaching. also @CBellRL, got my first intentional double tap while taking the advice in this vid in real time XD only took 12 mins of trying!
Hey CBell I think you actually cut out the most important part of the video, when you were describing what an enchilada is! I think we need that clip in the next video
I wish I had a coach like you because I've been stuck between diadmond 3 and champ 1 for like a few months now and I just can't stay in champ for long but seeing her do a double tap in 2 hours is just amazing. (I have peaked champ and I'm not mechanical either so she can definetely get to gc.) I hope she gets back to diamond soon!
and just after one video after the break they are on a break again lol... tbh I really want Emmie to thrive but it seems like she either lacks time or motivation to actually go the way. To be able to have a chance to rank up (at least to diamond or champ) she has to play daily and it doesnt seem like she plays regularly
Hi @CBell! This series is great! I am an old man that started playing with my daughter back in 2017 and I play all the time. I am also hard stuck plat. Any plats out there want to team up? I try to rotate but my mechanics are garbage. Just started trying hard lately with training and what not. This game is so much fun but I feel like I should be better than I am. I get beat in ones by toxic golds all the time in ones. lol
Enchiladas are my favorite food in the world! If you ever go south Florida check out Ole Ole 🤤 best enchiladas I’ve ever had. Order the whole enchilada 😋
nice way of teaching. I think the best way to learn Rocket League is to play extra modes or 1s. For instance, Hoops teach you backboard defense and aerials, Dropshot how to aim your shots and wall play, Rumble is the same 3s but with little help which makes you learn positioning and angle of shots.
This reminds me of something, I was playing a plat 1s game (the first game I had on), and got double tapped on like 4 times, then I went for air dribbles and got a flip reset into a double tap. Won by 1 point, best and hardest game of my life.
I love your chanel and the way you teach this especially in this serie. I just started the game (i tryed many years ago for some hours), i can play until it click but it's way more efficient for me to have the mechanics break down and deeply understand each step to train and acheive it. I wonder if this cann be related to age, i'm close to 30 and i was way more on the see and replicate until it click side when i was younger, but it was on other games so it could be rocket league that i need to learn this way.
I have a feeling that Emmy and I have the same way of learning this game. It doesn't come natural, we can't just "feel out" how to do things correctly, we have to follow many small instructions instead of 1 big one.
I can get a consistent 2-4taps and gold 3 / plat 1 players still defend them 80% of the time. It would be better to work on her shooting consistently and ground mechanics.
Hey cbell, I know I’m late but this has really helped me I’ve gone from D1 to d3 well I was d3 in season 10 but that’s not the point just wanted to say great job
