Rain knocked us out last year. We had about a week left before we pick and now we're getting daily rains. Looks like another year of nasty water berries.

Very interesting video. Tell me, the blueberries that fall on the ground, do they automatically grow new plants and if so, how long does it usually take?

Unfortunately the berries that fall don’t grow new plants however the bushes do grow suckers that you can replant. I’m actually making a video on that very subject soon. Thank you for taking the time to watch 👍

I have some backyard blueberry plants. We had a lot of rain this year and my blueberries started splitting like yours. Some of the ones that didn’t split and looked ripe were also bland, but a lot of them that looked ripe were actually extremely bitter. In your experience will the bitter berries sweeten up if left on the plant a few extra days, or are they going to stay bitter?

Do you think that applying a calcium foliar spray or through fertigation would help stop rain split of the berries?

I’m not sure about putting it through the drip lines but I think spraying it starting at bud break does help some. When we get a few inches really fast and then the hot sun pops out I’m not sure anything would help lol. Thank you for taking the time to comment 👍

How does heavy rains affect Blueberry blossoms?

The worst thing is the bees don’t pollinate them when it rains. I had that issue this year. The berries get about the size of a match head and then fall off.

Hey Mike thanks for taking the time to comment. Yeah everyone that comes to the farm thinks that rain is a good thing and it is as long as there isn’t any ripe berries lol
