@@Jamal-im5yu Any car can run forever. Ever been to Cuba ? You will see 50 year old cars still running, i grew up with Mitsubishi L300, we had like 500 of them, we buy them, cut them into a pick up truck and use them to transport cows, they’re 30 years old and still running. I’m in a Range Rover club, we have Range Rovers chasing 400k miles. It all comes down to how you service and maintenance your car.
Nice video man! I drive around in a 2010 Camry se with 225,000 miles on it. It really amazes me as to how the car still runs and drives like new. Toyota reliability is truly something else.
I have an 03 LE and it doesn't smoke or make the turning sound (206k miles). I don't drive it hard at all, though, and I take very good care of it. I rented a new 2021 Camry for a day to see how it compared and while it was sexier for sure, I prefer how the older one handles.
Yeah I drive very slow lol I baby all my cars, service all my families cars, only in my video do I drive fast. Bc I believe it’s what ppl want to watch?? 🤷 And I agree they just don’t make them like they used to.
This is my favorite Camry Le because my mama had one for years when I was little. To better understand how great the gas mileage it gets. She only had to fill it up 5 times to drive from Oklahoma to Oregon! That is impressive 🙂 at least to me. As with any vehicle, maintenance is a bit pricey. This car isn't a sports car or anything fancy so maintenance is affordable. Mama makes 50k a year and I make 25k a year annually. She has a new Altima. 2022 I think but I still have my 03 Camry and I love it. My dream car is a 94 Toyota Supra but hey that's only a dream lol R.I.P Paul Walker 😭
I had that 03 camry le in black. She was my black beauty and i loved her to death. Sold her and bought a 2012 camry se v6 in silver, she's my Silverhawk and i love her to death.
Nice POV. Just wished more Dealerships used this style of video instead of the plain old showing pictures of the car and having a robotic voice read the all the specs and features. Yes you are right about the oil burning. The 2.4L 4 cylinder on this generation was notorious for that. Just make to notify the future owner about that problem.
Thank you I really appreciate you saying that! 🙏And I know what you mean I hate those video 😂 and don’t worry I plan on keeping this car for as long time…. Hopefully lol
@@abdaman98 I have a lot of faith in Toyota V6 the 3.0 & 3.3l motor are great. The biggest issue with V6 is oil leaks not burning oil. Are you having issues with V6?
I bought an 03 Camry XLE for $6k back in 2015 with 88K miles and now has 150k miles. These cars are tanks. And it was built in Japan ! I recently upgraded to a 2019 Corolla SE and now my mom drives my Camry and she's really happy with it :) Im sure it will last for many more years!
I bought a 03 Camry LE 3.0 V6 with only 95,000 miles about 6 months ago, it's in excellent condition.it drives like a dream, not one issue,I like the style.love my car.
@@Oscarch2306 they have an 18 gallon tank.i don't know your driving style I drive conservatively.i get about 22-24 mpg.it also depends on your commute.
I joust bought a 2003 Camry LE with 192,000 miles and let me tell you that I was surprised to find out how confortable the seats are. Everything works well with an ice cold a/c. Clean tile as well, bought it for $2500. And yes the paint is a little faded. I really recommend this old car.
I don't know what power steering fluid or transmission fluid Toyotas use, but they drive very smoothly. In addition, Toyota should coach other automakers on how to make comfortable seats.
I agree they have the best seats super comfy like sitting on a couch. Lol you can buy Toyota brand power steering and transmission fluid. Amazon has it or you’re local dealership
I drive for a living, have had many cars my 03 camry is comfortable for 5 plus hr trips all day. Never drove more comfy car on ling trips. Including beemers and benz. No domestic comes close.
The 2.4 in this generation was definitely an upgrade from the previous 2.2 which was really reliable but it was slow slow. I'd rather get a 4 cyl of this generation rather than the last tbh.
I got a 2003 Camry all white with over 300,000 miles same exact model as yours. It was my brother’s first car n got passed to me when I got my license. I’ve drove it for a year no problems Toyota for ya
Thanks for the review, and I think going to buy one of these for 3-5k. I went to a dealer to look for a new car and they wanted pay $636.00 per month for a 2022 Honda which I though was beyond outrageous for a loan.
I have 03 LE (170k miles) and it also give blue smoke during start but it’s all ok. The best car ever made, I don’t want to change it. The only one issue I have it’s Aisin transmission. Since 2 years it’s a little harsh shaking the vehicle (for a 0,1 sec) during taking on/off foot from the gas pedal but I hope it will last some more time.
Toyota is the best when it comes to reliability from my experience. Whenever I drive down the highway, I see lots of fords, Chevy’s, Dodge, Chrysler, BMW’s, Audi’s, Volkswagens broken down on the side of the road.
Just how many 10 yr old plus domestics do you see in a daily commute? I see 20 plus yr old camrys all the time. When you do not see older cars it is cause they died. Old camrys every where
Ive had my 1994 SV32 toyota camry for about 2 years now got it when it had 296 thousand kilometres (183k miles) and it has 319k (198k miles) now, such a reliable car only problem it vibrates a lot at idle
Majority of Camry from 2003 to 2014, burnt oil in the 2.4z engine. Mine started back at 180,000 miles ago. I had the PCV changed and now it doesn't burn a lot of oil. I can get 850 miles on it before I add about 1/4 quart of oil. Synthetic is all I use. I just had to replace the center pipe and muffler. Her RPM on start up is running high, I guess I'll have to soon put in a new battery, the one I got is 6 yrs old. It's soon to go and it will be a Interstate. (the one I got in there now). So far, she has over 200,000 miles on it. As long as I take care of the car, it will take care of my needs. Paint and everything else looks like new. Seats are leather not clothe. Mechanic that works on my vehicle said my car the best looking one for it's age. Looks new and runs great! Air conditioner is original and still freezing cold.
COOL VIDEO, Times are tough. Got a 2003 Toyota Camry LE paid to much it was for my girlfriend she drove her 2000 Ford Taurus to the ground. (I actually blew the head gasket trying to clear out the car for a smog) She ended up hitting a 2018 VW Jetta in a parking lot hit the gas instead of the break. Thought the Camry was totaled? Came back from the body shop on Friday. Trying to find a empty parking lot for her to practice. LOL! Hope we can drive it for another 5 years. Has about 115,000 miles.
I've done the craziest things for smog!! lmao and yes thing don't get easier. the more we do the harder everything is. But this world is so weird how things just work out. Don't give up, do things right and everything will work out in the end. Good luck to you lol and thanks for watching!!!lol
I had a 2011 LE I was stopped in traffic on the interstate and got hit twice from behind which threw me into car in front. All cars totaled and I walked away ok. Seeing for myself how safe this car is, I bought a 2016. Perfect for my commute, I put snow tires on in the worst of winter and it always get me home. I never miss an oil change and I drive it easy.
270K on mine and am about to the suspension and recently changed brakes but everything is easy to replace on it. Didn't realize how reliable these cars are.
All the problem is is that the valve seals are drying out. I had a 1989 Camry when I was a teenager that blue one puff of Blue Smoke out the tailpipe on the first start in the morning. King Toyota in Deerfield Beach told me that the blue smoke only in the morning was a sign of engine failure and would cost $2,000 to replace the engine. Skeptical I drove it over to Sears where the mechanic told me to add 1/4 cup of Marvel Mystery Oil every time I get an oil change and it will buy you some time. I literally drove that Camry an additional 200,000 miles before selling it to a relative who still drives it today. So try that. And by the way I think that my 2000 Camry with just over 453 K miles was by far the best generation of the Camry. It's not as quick but it's a lot smoother then later generations. It felt closer to it's cousin the Lexus ES then any of the other Generations. I hate that Toyota keeps trying to make the Camry sportier and sportier when that's not what made the Camry a Camry.
That’s crazy dude my aunts 04 Camry was bought in 04 on release and she’s still driving it. Last I heard it was at 310k miles. They took it across the country a few times.
I like the front visibility. The new Camrys or even the new cars have a very small windshield, tall dashboard. 2014 and up cars have that issue, but I guess no one sees it but me I guess.
I have a 02 toyota camry xle definitely a good car I take one day out of the week to make sure my car is good and I do that just cause I love taking care of my camry
Compared to my country (The Netherlands in Europe) gas in the US is cheap. I converted the liters to gallons and euro to dollars which makes our price $ 8,75 a gallon!!
Have 03 v6 336k miles still make 600 mile round trips monthly. Original engine trans and 99% of entire car us factory original. 3 parts replaced radiator knock sensor and alternator all after 250k miles. Other than wear items belts tore brakes struts still original
When this car was brand new in 2003. In China the price was 70,000 USD. Which was 19 years ago. 19 years ago in China the average salary was about 250 USD per month. So this was a luxury car back in the days in China.
Dealership? Or private party? 3k on cl or fb is to much unless you go see it in person and the vehicle is like close to perfect. Negotiate the price if you can. Lol And good luck 👍
An odd thought, there’s no way to know if the airbags still work. They’re supposed to last like 10-15 years and I don’t know if I’d feel comfortable in a 2003 for that reason alone haha
Look into the crash test ratings on the vehicle you’re interested in purchasing. For example I was very surprised that the test rating were better on the Toyota Tacoma than on the same year Toyota Tundra. You would think the Tundra being bigger would be safer
Yeah but the Crash test also are not perfect and anything can happen on the road lol we just gotta be prepared the best we can. Lol Thanks for the comment & for Watching 🙏🙏
It's a simple fix. Look under the dash, where the steering column/shaft enters a rubber boot. Hit with a few blasts of silicone spray and voila!..no more noise when you turn the wheel.
i run mobil 1 full syn. Check it once a week. And I've been doing this for years lol it just works for me. And yes i could do it earlier, sooner but who has the time for that lol
@@motleydude73 you change your oil when you want to. I’m gonna do mine every 5K miles or every 6 months whichever comes first. Synthetic oil generally starts loosing its viscosity after 6 months
@@thomasgriffin3474 I do mine as per Toyota recommendations, 15000kms (9320 miles) or 12 months whichever comes first. Just use a thicker grade if yours has done higher miles, at 5000 you are just wasting good oil and money.
@@motleydude73 oil is cheap. I only have 17K total miles on my 2020 tundra and it’s about to get its 3rd oil change and tire rotation. A oil change and tire rotation is the same price as filling the truck up with gas
I forget what that squeaking sound is. I know car care nut did a video about it. I personally like the 2012-2015 model year is my favorite. This economy is terrible unfortunately. Hoping you are still doing good with your dad
Am about to buy a camry 03 v6. 130,000 milage. Still in mint condition. But am scared of this the right choice. I was told it take up more gas and are more problematic when compared to 4cylinder
No way 03 v6 xle 330k miled uses no oil get 20 in town 30 highway at 75mph. Best car i ever owned and has plenty of power without straining motor. Had 4cyl, now 6, never go back. Mileage is not much different at v6 does not have to rev to get going.
I currently have a Toyota Corolla 04 but it needed a converter right after purchased giving it back and I found a Toyota Camry 03 too! With 138K miles I wanna get it so bad it’s only $4,700 obo should I do it 😭😭
I payed 80-100$ I don’t remember exactly. I got it done at Martinez Upholstery in Turlock. I removed it myself and dropped it off he had it ready next day.
@@nightmoose hey, I have a chance to buy one with 39000 miles on it. how much did you pay for yours. mine is going to be a 2005 with the 2.4 4 cyl engine
How you going to say you keep up with maintenance but you only change the motor oil?? Bruh. Unless you’re driving 5k miles a year you’re severely neglecting maintenance. Transmission fluid needs to be drained and filled every 30k. Coolant every 30k. PCV valve every 30k. Air filter every other oil change. Shoot… I will say that’s a crazy testimony for Toyota though… I love mine.
Want to know if car is reliable? Remove bias of owners. It is simple, what type.of car you looking for? For example as this is camry video say 4 door sedan. Now go to autotrader or your favorite used car site. Now do advanced search on 4 door sedans from 1995 to 2005, far enough back to see real world high mileage cars not racking up 200k in 5 yts on hwy. But real world cars. Now look at the cars, first there will be few dodge intrepids fro. That era or ford taurus, or chevy lumina or whatever they made then. Not many last and ones there will be liw mule hardly driven models. May see a few over 200k. Now the one car that old with 200k to 500k will be a lot of camrys. Do not believe me search it. Same with trucks. Sports cars, the ones you see most of will be good vehicles that last. The ones not there died yrs ago. I.just look at cars on road, 20 yr old camrys every where, hardly ever see domestics. Oh honda will be there also, not mazda or hyundai lol
I have a low mileage 2002 LE V6 with only 80k. When I first bought it from the first owner which had a strong attachment to the car it only had 61k. I recently tried to sell it because I have a 19 Camry and I didn’t really need a second car, but I just couldn’t the car has grown on me too much haha. I was curious to see if any of you knew where I can find a manual transmission for the v6? The car mostly sits so I would like to have some fun with it.
Super easy fix. There’s a rubber boot on the steering shaft that needs some lubricant. Silicone spray works best. Spray, turn the wheel left. Spray, turn the wheel right. Do this and the noise will be gone.
I owned a 2003 Camry LE V6 with a sunroof and alloy wheeler. Purchased brand new in 03 from a Toyota dealership. Mine was a great car too BUT I was never thrilled with its styling. Traded it in 2007 for a new Camry XLE V6. Now I own a 2019 Camry XLE V6; best Camry yet!
funny how this car looks like the basic hispanic family car. all clapped out lol in my neighborhood i see a lot of these with faded paint and aftermarket rims, broken tail lights and faded headlights.
I'm really thinking of making my 03 Camry Le a sleeper. It's got 227,000 miles. I'm no car expert but I would think that if I rebuild the engine and transmission then it will be good to go, right? 😐 Idk
100k camry will out last brand new domestic. Spit camry 100k miles still better than domestic. 100k domestic is in miles of multi failures, 300k camry has 3 original parts replaced radiator knock sensor alternator. My ac still cold and nothing else has failed.or broken but wear items tires brakes struts etc. Mist cars lucky to last 200k much less without.many parts replacements to get to 200k.
My moms car and she drives it hard lol Honestly 224k miles and the most expensive repairs was tires, something that has to be done on all vehicles. I’ll be replacing motor oil and transmission oil next week.
