What if I have items that are blessed by the priests hands but without holy water? Is this just as valid, do I need to have the items blessed again with holy water?
@auniversalwoman
@auniversalwoman Год назад
The power of Holy Water are the prayers behind it. I'm sure your priest blessing with his hands is still a blessing but without the power of Holy Water. I'm sure some items require a special blessing and holy water for certain efficacy... not all blessings from all priests are the same... for instance, a Rosary blessed by a Redemtorist priest has indulgence attached when prayed with. If blessed by a non Redemptorist, it won't have the indulgence attached. So, really, it all depends.

@@auniversalwoman So if all the items were blessed with just one prayer, they are still blessed, just don't have indulgences attached?
@auniversalwoman
@auniversalwoman Год назад
@@woitis I think that similar to a Sacrament, a blessing needs the right matter and form to be considered valid. Picked this off of Catholic News Agency: 'Both constitutive and invocative blessings are invalid if the forms prescribed by the Church are not observed. ' 'A reserved blessing which is conferred by a priest who does not have the required delegation is valid, but illicit, unless the Holy See has declared otherwise in the reservation.'

@@woitis I asked Father Burfitt about this. He said they are still blessed. Maybe the priest didn't have Holy Water... perhaps you didn't have any handy... but you can sprinkle them after, with holy water.

Yes, that's why when we found the priests of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X, we never would go back to being a Novus Ordo parishioner. Thanks be to God for the FSSPX, Archbishop Lefebvre, Bishop Tissier de Malerais, Bishop de Galerreta, Bishop Fellay and all of the loyal priests of the FSSPX 🙏

It's too sad how Catholics are robbed of so much by the Novus Ordo, new world order church. If only they could see what the Catholic Church truly is supposed to be like.

Can deacons bless rosaries, or only priests?
@auniversalwoman
@auniversalwoman 8 дней назад
@@magn630 deacons are the last step to priesthood. They're not priests yet, so as I understand it, they shouldn't bless objects like priests do. Like anyone they can baptize in an emergency, but I can't think of a case when we'd need emergency object blessing. That's my take, but we should likely consult a priest if Im missing something.

How to ask the priest for this kind of belssings?
@auniversalwoman
@auniversalwoman 11 месяцев назад
If they were trained in the Novus Ordo church, they might not know how to do it. But if they have all their faculties, they can use this book: angeluspress.org/products/rituale-romanum-w-leonine-exorcism-insert

Hi! What causes any religious item to lose its blessing?
@auniversalwoman
@auniversalwoman 10 месяцев назад
I have to look into this but off the top of my head. I think when it's sold... and you're not supposed to sell blessed objects. You can ask for a donation for a blessed object or you can give it as a gift.
@greenyoshi777
@greenyoshi777 5 месяцев назад
@@auniversalwoman Yes. I just watched another video and you REALLY have to be careful of not committing simony. That is, selling blessings for money. The pastor on there said YES it costs money to make the medals (silver, gold, etc. COSTS A LOT of money) and then also to have them shipped so yes you can be expected to pay for goods and services (and also customs/excise if applicable). Selling the blessing however is NOT allowed. This is also why you do NOT pay for an exorcism or any other prayers.

@@greenyoshi777 in any case, we need more blessed objects in the world. Only God knows how many cursed objects there are floating around...
@greenyoshi777
@greenyoshi777 5 месяцев назад
@@auniversalwoman Yes. Especially since cases of demonic possession, hauntings, etc. are on the rise. Persecution of Christians is nothing new BUT that is ALSO a reason for blessed objects, for more devout blessings with more reverence, more exorcisms, more devotion, more fervent prayers, among other things. The kingdom of the accursed evil one (I don't say his name) has been gaining ground.

That’s in reference to the golden calfs the Israelites would worship instead of God. Are you also against Exodus 25:18 where God orders them to make two golden cherubim? Context is key my friend.

@@Kingdom_Piano thank you, very much. I'll add this from drbo.org: "[4] "A graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing": All such images, or likenesses, are forbidden by this commandment, as are made to be adored and served; according to that which immediately follows, thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them. That is, all such as are designed for idols or image-gods, or are worshipped with divine honour. But otherwise images, pictures, or representations, even in the house of God, and in the very sanctuary so far from being forbidden, are expressly authorized by the word of God. See Ex. 25. 15, and etc.; chap. 38. 7; Num. 21. 8, 9; 1 Chron. or Paralip. 28. 18, 19; 2 Chron. or Paralip. 3. 10."
