The fact this car is only 15 years old and it was "ahead of it's time" back in 2008! But now it looks like it's from 1970s, We have advanced so much in the last 2 decades, it's honestly insane.
Tbh the interior looks a lot like the 2004 phantom I’ve just watched so the design is from 20 years ago. I feel like interior design has advanced more than exterior design with cars. But now luxury seems to be less about having more technology and more about the experience as too much tech can feel mentally overwhelming. I saw a video of a 1998 rolls Royce the interior seems so basic compared to a modern car but then I realise with being basic it’s easier to focus on the experience the car provides, the small touches to how buttons feel, how the air flows out of ac vents, how the seats feel etc.
I was waiting for him to start pushing open the sunroof too since everything was moving too slow🤣 The car is hella nice, I get the same enjoyment out of my little 06 civic. God is too good!
Not exactly… the interior on my 2005 G Wagon is pretty plain and it’s heavily outdated. The one on my 2006 Range Rover still looked like it belonged in a newer vehicle.
@@PacificNorthwest360 there's nothing comparable to the comfort of a Rolls Royce, not Bentley, not Mercedes, nothing. They are in a league of their own truly. Modern cars do have nicer interiors than seen here but the comfort, build and ride quality of this will still exceed them
You must be shooting the piss. The RR has easily half the actually functional stuff that a modern, one trim level up from basic, car has. But hey they included a $5 umbrella, a cigarette lighter/ash tray, which is easily replaced by a bic lighter and a slightly open window, a number pad which is redundant and likely not even functional with modern smart phones and an automated hood ornamentation which is absolutely worthless. And it’s all covered in kitschy looking wood accents. Like it’s neat, but more as a time capsule of a time thankfully gone by, than anything a sane person would actually spend money on. And that’s ignoring the reliability issues ever present in cars like this. Then again, if you’ve got multi-millions of doll hairs to spend, it works great as a status symbol… An extremely ugly one at that. A civic has more character and attractive lines than this elongated Scion XB with a drop top.
Every touch, every sound, everything seen, just pampers your senses from inside out. Plus it floats you places. That's why it's worth every penny spent.
That is the farthest thing from the truth, they handle super well and it doesn’t even feel like you’re driving when you’re behind the wheel, they are super smooth! I’ve driven one before but didn’t take a video I’ll find a video and link it to you on how smooth they drive tho
They drive really nice, actually. But the interior is outshined by much cheaper cars. Not worth it, other than looking cool. The new Cullinan is very amazing, though.
@@Killtagious um, I didn't call it shit. I just said that's my impression.🙄 Notice how the people who commented understood that and just shared their experience.
It’s funny how this was literally the very best around just 10 years ago. And how funny that my car now (which is a tiny fraction of what this would have cost) is better in every way (apart from exclusivity) than what a multimillionaire/billionaire drove just about 10 years ago!
If you saw it from the exterior and interior you would understand. The base model had a 0-60 in 4.5 sec, as autonomous driving as u can get currently, crystal interior (some knobs and buttons are crystal), large displays, gesture control, M disc brakes, rear wheel turning for better handling, black alloy wheels and shiny deep blue body work.
Actually this is how it looks like exactly. www.bmw.co.uk/content/dam/bmw/common/all-models/8-series/coupe/2022/onepager/bmw-8-series-coupe-onepager-sp-desktop.jpg
No fucking way!!! Humans are advancing in technology? I guess we should all call millionaires dumb because they bought the most expensive cars then, when they should have waited 10 years to buy a very expensive car. But then, why buy one right now when you can wait for more modern tech in a few years? This makes the whole “it’s funny how a decade ago” statement fucking idiotic, because it is obvious you are trying to shit on millionaires/billionaires for buying things they want.
@@TRACKSTARRR There are couple of things you are right with and couple wrong. Firstly, it’s 0-60 is 4.5 sec, it’s what’s quoted and about right when I test it (335bhp and a hefty 680Nm of torque is pretty good for a base engine stock car but I guess it is a 8series. I agree the gesture control is a gimmick but so are most features in a luxury car- eg there are many things in the RR both then and now that you don’t need to drive but it’s there just because it’s a extra bit of tech that people pay just because it’s something different. Secondly, I know its Swartski glass but the point I was making is that the material is still better than the wooden/plastic knobs in that old RR. Also the brakes are in fact ceramic- I didn’t choose this personally but it came with the car. With regards to autonomous driving, the can steer and drive its self to keep in a lane but every so often you have to touch the wheel but you can get around this by just touching it with your knees. I know it’s not completely autonomous but what i said is that there is no other more advanced system you can currently buy- not even in the new RR (which I believe doesn’t have any autonomous features as RR don’t believe in it). Anyway my point still stands as my car is faster, is more advanced, better interior (I cant comment on ride comfort as I not driven in a RR but my 8 series can’t be far off lol!)
Because for a lot of people, it looks nice. I do find glossy wood feeling cheap, but a tastefully done wood trim does enhance the perceived quality of the vehicle. The R1t is a good example.
@@sopretty43vr Though there are varying degrees of plastic (they do look nice in the current generation Prius), the usage of other materials can easily feel tacky when not done correctly. Either stylish without being overbearing, simple without being Spartan or a blend of the two (though Tesla owns the simplicity of their interior), it must be cohesive.
It is supposed to give a feeling of nature in the cabin, rich people are big on clinging to anything to distract them from the guilt of embezzling hundreds of people
What's sad with just 15k a can get all this in a 2000 Toyota Camry that will last longer and more reliable I swear custom shop did it for someone I know it was fking nuts.
@@sergeanthartman5103 yea fking crazy! My friend had a custom shop do this same design on a 2000 Camry! It mad no sense but dude did that 5 years ago car is at 189k miles now still drives like a dream and looks amazing! Dude out shine everyone around I see people want to see what he had then a 2016 Corvette And alot of other cars Too bad I can't post pictures on here
Dude how does it look old to you? My reaction was the opposite, I had to recheck 4 times that its a 2008 cause it looks like a 2018 to me, maybe you see alot of RRs
@@mrlebanon6055 it’s not bad for a 2008 car, but it’s a dead giveaway besides the steering wheel that it’s old as hell. The wood used, so many ash trays, seat design, and that ancient screen in the middle easily show it’s age
@@user-um3fx2vk8r thats true but u can keep the watch instead of the screen and it would look like a modern classic, same for the wood, to u it looks old but for the average person who doesnt know much about RR(such as me) it could slide as a new car using old wood to look classic which makes it look even more luxurious
It is old, it’s almost 15 years old. But most current 2022 cars are gonna look much older much faster because of their giant screens and reluctance to use wood. Natural materials (wood) are timeless, and thus look modern forever. It is quite pillowy looking, but I think that’s just RR design language. As for screens, they go completely obsolete in a few years no matter how well designed they are. So if you have a big infotainment screen front and center, your car will look permanently and irredeemably dated very very quickly. Only cars like this, where the screen is just an extra feature NOT a main staple of the interior, can survive the rapid advancement of car infotainment tech.
It's called a suicide door. wana know why? Cause people would die from it being open and the car moving forward and hitting the person Aka getting knocked over then being driven over.
