That’s a choke that I used to hit all the time at purple belt. For some reason I forgot about it. Thanks Mr. Renzo!!! I’m gonna bring it back into rotation.
Hung out with Renzo all day few years ago. . Nicest guy I've ever met yet he was so intriguing.....takes u in like family...love you brother if u get to see this ! 🙏
Texas...Houston area he came down for a training seminar. I was the lucky one who got to train with him but also drive him to lunch and hang out..AWSOME MAN...!! COULDN'T imagine being able to hang in NYC with him haha bad Azz.
@@lausodresapo1336I don’t ever recall in any of Roger’s videos where he says it’s ok to let your opponent get a deep collar grip. That’s like giving someone a 50 yard head start in a 100 yard race. Get the second grip (because you just gave up the first one) and you are tapping my friend. I understand Jiu Jitsu extremely well. So if you have a question let me know.
Life of a white belt Today: Oh my, I wish I saw this submission earlier. So simple. So effective. I'll try this tomorrow! Tomorrow: Didn't work. I got smashed.
@Truest Cato Maior4Evah just watch Renzo seminars specially the one in Brazil when Even Redand white belts , Black belts of Carlson like Amaori Bitetti and many others just sit and learn from Renzo . Being Cynical abouth things you don't know is pure Ignorance !
@2:32 when he steps through like that I just grab that leg pushed back and he is on his butt you guys need to watch that stuff The thing is I mean if you’re grabbing a hold of the arms and you have control that it’s about taking out posts. I think he’s totally right because a lot of times when they do that sweep I’ve always grab that but They have always taught that sizer sweep The point is there’s many things that you should and shouldn’t do it just depends what you train and how you do it. I think Renzo need to talk to the Gracie killer and see why he got put in some stuff What I’m saying those before you actually grabbed your neck because if you shrimp out and push with her leg you’re on a different angle
I use a much less committed knee shield with a shallower hook and opposite knee at the junction of the opponents shoulder and chest and that foot planted firmly on the hip, not floating...humm.
What's the name of that choke? I don't understand the mechanics of it. Hand is gripping collar deep from left side. What's happening on the open side to help finish the choke?
Think of it as like a no arm brabo choke maybe? You use your weight on your ribs to force his neck deeper into the choke. You don't have his shoulder to close the carotid on the other side, but if you have one side tight enough, it doesn't matter
@Kommisar I have 10 years in Jiu Jitsu training I stopped a couple of years ago ,does not exist self defence in gi the gi is to be used on mats in the school and in competitions. you don`t go out on the streets wearing gi Teaching Jiu Jitsu is a business like any other business they teach you to make money not because they care about you when you are out on the streets.
@@CUNDUNDO my teacher shows us self defense techniques meaning even if we have a gi he shows us how to rip your head or limbs off no mater what you have on
Renzo gave Danaher his black belt, he definitely did not create him which is evident considering his knee shield attack completely exposes his legs. This is in line with most 'old school' Brazilian black belts, who've made a science out of ignoring 50% of the body.
Incorrect positioning with the knee shield...the knee should be pointing up that takes away the foot locks. Also why doesn’t Renzo tell his class to grip fight and protect their necks.
All fine and good but number one rule in Jiu Jitsu is to protect your neck. So the guy on bottom, the black belt will just let Renzo get a deep collar grip. Watch any high level match...BJJ , wrestling, grappling whatever and the vast majority of time is spent grip fighting.
