I live in Qatar as a foreigner and the services they provide are really great. I honestly think that we get pampered because hospitals like Hamad are free and there isn't an income tax for ALL residents, so we get to keep our money. haha

About opening Qatar to foreign business more: Qatar seems to be doing just fine with it's current business structure. If they relax their laws about foreign businesses they will get more money, but it would affect the country, economically and culturally. Is it really worth it?
Another important fact: Qatar has only 300.000 citizens ,the other 2.3 millions are residents from other countries. So if sixth of the 2.6 million population are millionaires so that means every qatari is a millionaire.
I had the opportunity to visit the country 10 years ago and it seemed like the whole city of Doha was under construction. Loved my visit and would tell people that Doha was like Dubai on a smaller scale but looked more like a real city. Qatar is beautiful and I wish my country could do some things similar as far as the health care and employment. But it's easier when you have less people to manage.

Let me tell you how rich Qatar is, I leave in Qatar so read this People get paid by nationality (discrimination) Asians and Africans are the ones who get paid less, cleaners at the mall they get paid for 150$ 12 hours of work, without food, security at the mall 220$ dollar no food, construction people 300$ and they work in summer outside and in horrible conditions, an philippina sales associate will get paid 500$ monthly no accommodation no transport no food, and the life is so expensive one room unfurnished with sharing kitchen and washroom it costs around 450usd and they live inside the room 4 to 5 people and in one flat will stay 20 people sharing the same kitchen and washroom, in Qatar now in this pandemic situation they don't pay employees they terminate them and let them without money food house without nothing,Expats not getting support at any case like food support I'm talking for now with a pandemic situation, people are helping each other as much as they can when I say people I mean the expats , but instead of getting help they get termination and left without payment and help, only thing they care is 2022, now someone might reply to me and tell me they not force to stay there, I can just tell you something are you agreeing that it's fine people to get paid by nationality and they do hard work?
