Don't you dare called Muhammad a poor man because by definition poverty i.e faqir is a disease. So Prophet use to pray to Allah for protection against kufr(disbelief) and faqir(poverty). I don't understand does riches only have in a form of money? So this is according to Hadiths. Prophet is nothing but a Humble Servant by doesn't mean he live a destitute life, so don't dare call Muhammad a poor man. Hadith books have insult our prophet in all angles.

Umar weeps at the poverty of the Prophet. Umar ibn al-Khattab reported: I entered the room of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was lying on his side over a mat. I sat down as he drew up his lower garment and he was not wearing anything else. The mat had left marks on his side. I looked at the Prophet’s cupboard and I saw a handful of barely in a small amount, the same of mimosa leaves in the corner, and a leather bag hanging to the side. My eyes started to tear up, and the Prophet said, “What makes you weep, son of Khattab?” I said, “O Prophet of Allah, why should I not cry that this mat has left marks on your side and I see little in this cupboard? Caesar and Khosrau live among fruits and springs, while you are the Messenger of Allah and His chosen, yet this is your cupboard.” The Prophet said, “O son of Khattab, are you not pleased that they are for us in the Hereafter and for them in the world?” I said, “Of course.” Sahih Muslim 1479
I knew Prophet Muhammad SAW was rich but he chose to live in modesty lifestyle. His grandfater is leader of Arabian Quraisy tribe. His uncles are businessman who had a wide business networking . He was trained and taught to run a business since he was young. When he was an adult,all people knew him as the most trusted person and seller until an Arabian succesful business woman,Siti Khadijah noticed and impressed with him. I can't see him as a poor man. His family was business family. Abu Jahal,Abu Lahab,Abu Talib were rich men and they were Prophet Muhammad saw's uncle. Btw,he was also a handsome man too with great IQ,EQ and memory power. Just study his diet and lifestyle.

Umar was a smuggler bringing gold into Damascus during the Romand and Persian war. Freed trade with ethics and the threat of banditry and conflict is difficult to assure especially when the Emperors can raise vaste amounts of wealth for advanced security. He had many slaves, more than 11 wives. Followers due to his wealth influence. Charged people to come meet him for questions and answers. He married Khadija who was one of the richest people in the land. So riddle me this. No poor man could have slaves, servants, many wives. No broke man has a wife.
sometimes a person will marry a broke man and ignore the rich man, but definitely was rich but chose ot live a poor life, and Allah (Glory be to Him) knows best.
