the fenty effect, from pop royalty and fashion icon to helping set new beauty standards. that rihanna reign just won’t let up instagram: imthehonestboy twitter: imthehonestboy business inquires: muyhonest@gmail.com
There are a lot of people who try to diminish the talent and work ethic Rihanna has. She will always remain unbothered and setting trends in everything she does.
Oh I remember when she dropped Fenty Beauty & everyone saw how varied the range was - a TON of existing makeup brands started posting their darkest shades & the dark shades they were going to make lol. She had everyone shook!
It’s insane growing up to Rihanna to see where she is now , when pon de replay came out I think it was obvious she’d be a star but she’s exceeded all my expectations and more ! That is one powerful woman
Her brand and the quality of the products are SO GOOD. I don’t think there is a product I’ve used from Fenty that I haven’t loved. Now the price points these days are getting a bit steep in this economy 😂😅 but I still grab a thing or two when it’s in my budget.
Fenty skin is my go too! My good sis Rih makes sure the quality matches the price point. I have been using Fenty skin since early 2020 and haven’t looked back. The team at Fenty beauty deserves their flowers because they haven’t failed us. They heard the people and met the demands.
I gasped @ 0.53, you're SAAAAAVAAAAGE for including that "bajan mom ain't here for your pronuns shit" moment (which was cut out btw) in the video I mean, she actually practices representation in business (or at least in their offer, idk about real biz practices, most likely it's biz as usual) instead of virtue signaling about it, why does she have to be a pro in all this bird lingo nuances? Lol
@@real_cadewhy is that funny ? Did she say something wrong or some unknowingly iconic moment or ? Was it something controversial or ? I just want to know
@@itsbonkerjojo9028 Gender politics has become such a big thing to where everyone and their grandma is meant to be an activist for these people. But from the clip, it's pretty obvious that Rihanna was just saying that to pander to the crowd.
She loves the beauty industry so much, she had to put on her Fenty makeup in the middle of her superbowl performance during that one song to promote it and remind us this is what she does now and we’re not getting another album for the foreseeable future 😅
It's insane that the beauty industry didn't think that being inclusive would be successful... it's literally more money. Like the segregation of yesteryear....
That’s always what gets me when I think back to that (VERY recent ) time. Like, how can a beauty company not think to expand their product range to appeal to more customers? Racism is really ridiculous 😭 It’s one thing to expect a moral compass from these companies but the money is right there…
@@milimans18 not really. I'm sure most beauty brands were doing perfectly fine without charcoal shades. The "inclusivity" aspect is just a marketing gimmick and window dressing for self congratulatory libtards.
I think they didn’t care because white dollars were all that mattered. Then they see this Barbadian queen making coinT and lose their minds. 💅🏽 Too late
"we want to ... y'know ... Include people of all ... *shifts chair* Gender APPROPRIATIONS" Y'all got Rihanna scared to death in interviews trying to sell her products 😭
@@karanaher5030 right like no way people are trying to assign a victim label onto a billionaire lmao. that woman will be fine regardless of what she says.
Rihanna definitely changed the beauty industry & inspired more artists to Mahe their own beauty brands. I don't think there would be an R.E.M or Rare Beauty w/ out the start of Fenty. Fenty Beauty along w/ Rihanna paved the & changed the landscape of the beauty industry
Even though theres a lot of female celebrities with makeup brands like Gaga, Selena and Ariana, Rihanna was the one who started this. back then, there were no good makeup brands for all skin types and she decided to include all ethnicities, races, and skin colors. Makeup Queen👑
Fenty Beauty didn't just succeed because of inclusivity, it ALSO took off because Rihanna has been a CHAMALEON when it comes to beauty and fashion, all those previous years of makeovers truly showed RIHANNA. Her braveness to embrace change when it comes to looks is so much her, and THAT also captivated people, because it was like people truly KNEW HER and SHE KNEW PEOPLE, and when people buy Fenty, they KNOW Rihanna LOVES beauty and isn't doing it ONLY for the money.
what we don't discuss at lenght in these kind of retrospective videos is rihanna's savvy businesswoman tactics, i mean sure it is a kind of activism but moreso it represents the exploitation of a ripe, underused market. she profits from it. rihanna always knows where the money is at, that's why she bets on the brilliance of a product rather than her personal footprint.
I wish Cécred would follow in these footsteps a little more. There’s so much discrimination surrounding black women’s hair, this would be a huge opportunity to change how people perceive beauty in hair if Beyoncé would make her marketing a little bit more specific
I love Beyoncé but she would have to attempt to be more approachable. I just don’t see her going around doing videos interviews about her products. The market is so saturated, but I really hope it is a success.
I hope she succeeds too. But what I wanted her to do was rebrand the hair scale of 1a-4c and make it wider and makes products specific for each hair type. Similar to Fenty coming out with so many foundation shades, she could come out with many hair products for different hair types. But it’s okay Bey you already doing a lot. You the first black woman with a number one on the country charts!!
Idkw but it's so funny to me how you tried every way not to simply say that there was barely make up for poc and different skin tones than white before fenty in the beginning
I LOVE GEORGE MICHAEL ♥️ . He definitely doesn't get the props he deserves. Like Bruno Mars, the Wknd, & Timberlake, GM was a multi genre artist. Idk know GM keeps getting overlooked .
@@j-dub22 I know right he's my favorite male artist of all time. His lyrics & stage presence amaze me & I love all his songs. He's a true inspiration to me. He definitely deserves his props because he's a legendary artist. Great vocalist , great stage presence , and great lyricist/Songwriter. I agree that he's definitely overlooked & I think he deserves more credit for his music & cultural impact. I also agree w/ u that he's a multi-genre artist. He sings different genres ranges from pop to dance to rock to r&b to even jazz which is rare since not many mainstream artists today sing jazz. I dont know he keeps getting overlooked either. I really hope & wish that Honest makes a video on George Michael because I've been asking about this for a very longtime. I won't stop til he does .... tee-hee-hee 🤭
Ive bought kylie cosmetic products and fenty products before. Lets just say kylie should stick to being a social media star while Rihanna makeup is actually very good. My shade of skin doesnt even exist on kylie cosmetics while fenty beauty has like so many more different shades of foundation that actually match my shade of skin. That should say enough. Tried revlon before and it gave me a rash. Tried essence and it works buut it like finishes in a week. Fenty is the only one that agrees with my skin and it surprisingly lasts me a full month
I can't believe you're able to extend "she was inclusive" into 6 freaking minutes. Sometimes I remember this channel exists and I click a video and remember quickly why I stopped watching in the first place
Rihanna rose the bar so high ain’t no celebrity can top her. The only one I can think that’s close to second is imo rare beauty or even Kylie but yeah FENTY is just that good
I wish the workers who actually came up with and created her products get the recognition they deserve. The ones getting their labor value stolen so Rhianna can gain financial success and hoard wealth.
