Thank you for the video video. It really helped. I wonder how much water these can process. Mine doesn't have that information written on it.

This is actually a very good explanation of basic Ro system

is there a way to obtain the leftover contaminants like the salt?

It recommends to change the membrane once a year. I've never changed it in the 2 1/2 years I've had it; and have never had a problem with water flow. Should I go ahead and change it?
@uswatersystems

1 year is just recommended but it isn't an exact science. It really depends on how bad your water is or how much use the system gets. Do you have a TDS meter? Test your water with one. If it reads fine then you do not need to change it.

@@uswatersystems Thank you. No I don't have a TDS meter. But I usually just change the sediment and charcoal filters every six months and water flows well and tastes good.

ro is not necessary but u can use sediment & carbon filter to enhance taste of water
@patrickmendoza
@patrickmendoza 6 лет назад
Yes. You don't know what that 170-200 ppm is composed of. When you put in place a 6 stage RO system. The first 5 stages will reduce the TDS close to 0 ppm while the final stage will re-mineralized it, hence increasing the TDS. At least in this way, you know have a pure water with known essential minerals.

A good effort but a little too TMI-ish and too-fast-folksy at times.
