I applaud Gowan for coming up with something new and exciting and fun...and still playing Dennis DeYoung in the background while he's describing the whole thing! Bravo! Nice to have the old and the new together...that's the way it should be!
I was hoping he would talk about how the wires in the thing don't get twisted and broken. Or maybe it has battery packs and wireless audio transmitters?
These things are usually done by a 'slip ring' where mutliple contacts slide … just search for slip ring explained. a video will do a much better job at explaining than me typing here.
@@InsaneOrder I know what a slip ring is, and I didn't think it would work well for audio. Perhaps they are sending power through a slip ring, and transmitting audio wireless.
I've actually looked into buying one of these before. They're custom made by a company over in Belgium. At least by that company, the stand itself is wired so you're plugging your cable into the rotating portion, which then sits on a base that doesn't rotate where additional cables can exit to be run wherever needed.
Pianote have special guest appearances in the members area of the website. Usually snippets go on RU-vid. Jordan Rudess and Jenna Heigis are currently doing some tutorials. I'm fairly sure we'll see Lawrence Gowan showing us some stuff in the near future.
