As a Porto fan first off gotta say super chuffed about this. I’m glad he’s leaving the Portuguese League because it makes our job easier(hopefully) this year now he’s just gotta take Gyokeres with him to help even more! He is an absolute top coach people do discredit the Portuguese League but he’s done amazing job at Sporting, taking a team that haven’t won in 20 years; to winning 2 league titles in 3 years, making them competitive in Europe which they weren’t for a long time, knocking teams like arsenal out of the Europa League, doing well in the CL this year. They weren’t doing this before he came they were in a rut for a long time and he came in, built probably the best Sporting team in a long time with players like Gyokeres, Pedro Goncalves, giving players like Geovany Quenda from the academythe limelight, Catamo another academy boy he’s giving him his chance, hjulmand, Diomande. He’s built a fantastic and competitive team there alongside the Sporting Director and he plays good football too. I think he will go onto achieve big things honestly
I like rory and his unbiased opinion but this myth that de ligt cant play a high line is nonsense, his entire career has been built upon being able to play a high line
Exactly de ligt is best played if its a 3 atb in the centre as ladt mn who can get into midfield easily and is a ball playing defender people just speak nonsense
De light has played a high line almost his entire career. Amad used to be CAM. Why in the world would you use Jonny evens when you have 3 ball playing center backs ? Does Rory think before he speaks
Rory, we did not speak to him in the summer the team who had major doubts about h8s back 3 was liverpool, we may have but no one knows, no journalist knows, no ex player knows. So you definitely do not know
Chelsea's last CL & PL titles came with a back 3, without having any legacy of a back 3 prior to that. Rory's preference for a traditional back 4 must be re-examined.
Man Utd will take at least 2 or 3 years to get back to Champions League at the very minimum. I think the top 4 from last season will be the same top 4 as this season. The only team that could possibly break into that is Chelsea, but even they're not certain to getting top 4.
Don't be so sure.. United can definitely get top 4 this season..the season before last United got 3rd and Liverpool were out of the top 4..it can change quickly with a few wins as still early in the season..
That manager has the team playing great football, while you're the joke of Europe fighting for relegation 😂and I'm sure you think Amorim will make you great..... Shame
Let's Go! I'm so excited for this appointment hopefully he brings joy to Old Trafford and play some entertaining football with the 343 formation, i don't care if it's not a 4 at the back EPL teams aren't used to this playstyle Amorim is talented and has great communication skills which I'm extremely happy about it's much needed we want the energy that was missing for years. Have to give credit to INEOS they're doing their job really well we got the best manager available on the market. A New Era Begins let's back the Portuguese fellow United fans we have to be patient.
Amorim is a Portuguese legend. He took a Sporting team that never won anything and turned them into a dynasty and developed so many top European players as well.
I like how Rory mentioned Antony as a left wing back. He definitely feels more like a left wing back than a right winger. His crosssing is pretty good if he is on the left and his defensive attributes are good tbh.
These are the exact same things we were hearing about Ten Hag before he came. We just have to hope that INEOS are patient and can give him the tools to succeed because it’ll be the exact same story in 3 years if not
I think Malacia has been back training since summer but had to have a further op to correct a cock up. So the delay is cautionary. Could be a good thing as we tend to rush players back to quick and get injured again.
Our midfielders ranked from best to worst in terms of ability 1. Bruno 2. Mainoo 3.ugarte 4.mount 5.eriksen 6.casemiro Casemiro is that low because he is declining and it is noticeable and eriksen has not got the legs
Ineos want success for Utd and they will expect it from Amorim, but first I think they want him to get Utd playing modern football the right way and give the team a footballing identity and a direction. As a fan just that would be great for starters..!
ETH had the same promise. He won the dutch league and had a more impressive CL run with Ajax. We all heard the same thing. I think the problem is not ONLY the manager's position, there's a FOOTBALLING STRUCTURE issue that is more FUNDAMENTALLY affecting good manager's ability to get the best out of the players they've had. Something Fundamental was lost when Fergie retired. ETH won trophies, BUT even he would admit that he struggled to implement his Ajax playing style even though he had the players he wanted. That is the real issue. There's a reason why Sanchez, Pogba, Di Maria, Falcao, Lukaku..... couldn't replicate their UNDENIABLE talent at the club. The reasons why is the REAL ISSUE. It's not just about the manager
Completely different styles and coaches just because it didn't work with one coach doesn't mean it won't with another look at Emery taking over at villa from Gerrard taking them from 18th to top four in a season
I really do hope he IS the guy But we’ve seen this movie before. Same was said about Ten Hag He was doing wonders with Ajax But the Prem was not kind to hope I sure do hope history doesn’t repeat itself
IMO the player who has the chance to flourish is MARCUS RASHFORD. Doesn't need to track back much, will play as inside forward , more chances to shoot. But he needs to be consistent
Don't be surprised whit the possibility to have wingers as full backs, he did the same in Sporting, catamo, quenda, Nuno Santos and maxi Araújo, all of them start as wingers and now they are full backs
I see it a little different i actually think we got very gd squad for this 3-4-3 formation : Gk: Onana Bayindir / Heaton Def: Yoro/Linds (RCB) De Ligt /Evans (CB) Martinez/Shaw (LCB) ---------------- Mid: Dalot (RWB/RM) Ugarte / Mainoo (CM) Amass(LWB/LM) Gnacho / Mazrou Cass / Eriksen / Collyer Malacia / Antony ------------ Att: Bruno / Mount (CAM) Zirks / Amad --------------------- Hoijlund / Rash (ST) Wheatley / Obi - Martin ok Rash as striker I think I need to explain my thinning , so I would probs only do this if we play Zirks as a cam (9.5) with him , this is because if you look at how Amorim sets up[ sporting cams , when out of possession one drop into mid and the strike and the other on turn into a LF and RF to stretch and press the back line , when the ball turs over you have to high target and a gap Infront of Defs , so the cam that drop off then moves up to get in-between lines.. this is a gd position to create or shout for Bruno for the 2 high player like Zirk and Rash guess you could just use Hoj instead of Rash but thought Rash don't like to run back so could help get the best out of him.
Jose wasn't the man and he's a better manager than Amorim. I think, while this is certain a step in the right direction, Amorim will not win them titles, they need to clear house and you can't sell what no one wants and THAT in manchester united's biggest problem. they can't clear house of all the dross they have in their squad. players that down tools the moment it starts going wrong for them., these players will get Amorim sacked as surely as they did Ten Hag and others before him. That high line with Maguire in it will get feasted on by every fast attacker, which will be good for opposition teams to exploit.
This video demonstrates why rival fans shouldn't weigh in meaningfully on lineups/tactics. As soon as he mentions Mason Mount as a useful player for Amorim I stopped watching.
Ruben is overrated he dosent have Gyökeres in united. Gyökeres almost took coventry alone up to premier league and he will continue to carry sporting to league trophy. Look at the last goal he scoared he took the ball from half the pitch all alone and scored whos gonna do that in united?
Rory, you clearly aren’t doing your homework. Amad Diallo’s best position is an inside forward. It’s never gonna be Jonny Evans as the central cb over De Ligt. Zirkzee could easily play as the ST or as one of the 10s. These are just 3 examples of where you’re completely wrong and misinformed. If you actually watched Man Utd and did your homework, this would be obvious. If you’re gonna make videos about Man Utd, at least take the time to provide actual information instead of the drivel you have just produced
Mount and Antony should be the first 2 names out of the door in an ideal scenario. I've never rated Mount and his injury record puts him next to Shaw and Malacia in not factoring into my thinking. Amorim supposedly loves to promote from within so that may be where he seeks the solution to the LB problem. Harry Amass is thought to be on the precipice of the first team already and I don't rate Dalot so hopefully Amass takes his chance. I actually think 3 at the back does suit the current united squad better. Selling Wan Bissaka means we have frailties with 4 at the back when Dalot is one of them. Signing Yoro means we do have enough CBs to make it work. Him and Martinez will have the mobility while De Ligt/Maguire sits between them. Lindelof and Evans are still there as back up options. I generally agree that as a united fan, it's odd to think of my team adopting 3 at the back as our primary formation, but it will be a lot easier to swallow if it brings some stability and improves offensive output.
They can buy every player and every manager. It won't make any difference. Their culture with money is toxic. Until they fix that, this club will never come right. Utd create and promote a mercenary culture with players. They're the biggest charity in football. Every club knows to overcharge them and get them to spend more than the players are worth and evrey player signed knows he can just relax on the bench and collect his ridiculous salary. And they can't sell players as there's no other club that would in their right mind pay players those salaries. A retirement home for players in their prime. Its where football careers go to die.
@Fottballbettip3893 Mctominay was an academy player. He's not one of those who were signed on ridiculous contracts. When those players leave Utd have to partially subsidize their salaries and pay other teams to take them.
So you would of been right in the past but Ineos are already changing most of the things you said. The fees they paid this summer were in line with market value, no player who was bought in has been given a salary over £175k. In fact De Ligt took a pay cut to join. And they made the most money in terms of sales the club has made in years. It will take time but Ineos are trying to make the changes that led to the toxic culture which ran rampant with Woodward, Arnold and Murtough running things
@ doesn’t change the fact that he had his best performances under Amorim. He wasn’t good enough on the ball for PSG. So they happily got rid of him to united.
@@srirampanth5233 Not as a full back. As a right centre back. Wingers always struggle against this guy. But like you said, he isn't the best on the ball.
There are good reasons why Liverpool chose not to hire Amorim. One was his tactical approach and the other more serious one, was his conduct in visiting West Ham while in discussions with Liverpool. This reflection of his character may be a warning sign for United. Then again, lack of character is something running through United. It will take more than this guy to save that sorry mess.
The point is that this guy proved that he can deliver results in a short period of time, similar to Thomas Tuchel. Big clubs don't care about how long a manager stays, they care about the amount of time it takes the manager to win. Unless your name is Pep Guardiola, Sir Alex Ferguson or Jurgen Klopp, a manager is pretty much disposable and does not deserve loyalty unless he earns it. You Man United fans were too loyal to 10Hag and that's why he left you in 14th.
