"The mistake of youth is thinking that the mentors you need are older than you: that you should work hard on getting in a room with some powerful person because that's what's going to change your life. That's just not the truth. What changes your life is your peers. The people you rise up with are your power base." - Scooter Braun
I wonder why this is. Even in the UK, a lot of successful rappers' managers are just their inexperienced peers from college or around the way and they end up being big hits. It happens too often to be a fluke. Still, i'd never let my best friends manage me 🤣
I met Scooter at a release party in New York in late 2017. I saw him in the crowd, approached him and told him he had inspired me to organize a show to fundraise money for relief efforts after Mexico's earthquake. We shook hands, and he told me the story of how he had found and signed the lead singer of Spencer Lee Band when he was homeless. I never thought he would've taken the time to talk in such a busy night. He was the most accessible and humble guy there. As inspiring as he is in interviews like these.
I've seen & done many interviews over the years and this one by far is my favorite simply because he kept it authentic and real, he is so right there's people out there that are going to want to see you fail miserably in life but even against all odds he made it through and came up on top!! That's what you call hard work & dedication!!
Extremely smart guy with the heart of a lion. Inspirational, driven, compassionate and trustworthy. Truly a rare breed in a forever judgmental and unforgiving industry. The World needs more people like Scooter. Bravo to the interviewer for capturing this mans spirit with intelligent and compelling questions. Really enjoyed this conversation. Thnx!
This is probably the first time I really "felt" the guest. I felt the genuinity from him. Spoke of his ups and downs. These "lessons" help me learn more about myself. Thanks @complexhustle
crownmekingstacks Hello, I’m 16 years old and I write songs. Can you listen one of them please? Thank you very much. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b0dsvTLaVMs.html
Money is an avenue freedom, you have an opportunity to implement more of that into your life to make you happy, the money is not going to make you happy
Really inspiring. I have recently watched a lot of friends of mine give up on aspirations, things they have worked on for years and then they just up and leave. Sometimes I've even doubted myself when I feel like the work and the risk is just too much and I wanna give up. Scooter Braun failed multiple times in his mind. But he never gave up. Amazing.

Behind the the scene weird shit that will not be told that pic of him and Justin said it all to me of him as a child it spoke about this industry we call music
You ever wonder what happened to rnb artists that were massive why didn’t they blow up its because they ignored this man now every artist is putting their music on social media
AMAZING!!! Just this morning I was ready to give everything up I have invested, booked etc. etc.. I've been playing Manager/Booking agent for about 2 years now to some talented musician's here in Houston TX... Thank you for the inspiration today truly amazed..
First time seeing this. I have NO idea how I even stumbled across it. This is good content. Never new much about Scooter Braun before this. Great interview. slick style, tasty. Informative. I'm in!
Like other keep saying around here: don't stop doing what you're doing Complex Hustle. I like the way you pair picture, sound and the subjects. And they're very inspiring, this one was.
truth to word, You guys most definitely choose the right individuals to interview and give very good information that you can not argue is facts. Noah does a great job. I absolutely love #complexhustle
The Jermaine Dupri incident is a classic example of why black owned businesses aren’t usually successful. They’re usually rife with betrayal and tantrums and slim on talent and drive. There’s a reason why most music moguls are Jewish or White. It’s because they’re good at handling business problems while dealing with the temperaments of fickle artistic types. They separate themselves from the demented and degenerate lives of the artist, and because of that, they come out the other end with all the money and none of the soul damage. Sad but true.

Again sorry to break it to you. I guessed. Looked it up...and surprise surprise I was right. "Braun was born in New York City to Conservative Jewish parents" Major connections already made while in highchool..... ////While at Greenwich High School Braun entered a video-documentary contest for National History Day with a 10-minute piece titled The Hungarian Conflict about Jews in Hungary before, during, and after the Holocaust. The film won in regional and state competitions and then placed third overall. A member of Braun's family sent the film to director Steven Spielberg's office,//// - - -Connections later to make music videos- - - Hmmm......Yes he did all on his own own (these people have the resources and connection you will never have) ///Still in his sophomore year at Emory, Braun was working at So So Def and operating his party promotion business. Some of his larger events included parties for the 2003 NBA All-Star Game and after-parties on Britney Spears' Onyx Hotel Tour.//// Black people and everyone else stop being fooled by these type of people and their success stories. Use people from you background for stories of people who made it. You probably cant accomplish what this guy as, or as quickly...as you didn't have the same beginnings or have the privileged upbringing that these types of people have. YOU CAN DO IT but learn from non privileged, POOR PEOPLE people who made it, or who have had success in life. Dont be fooled by these people's "success"
@ComplexHustle, #KUDOS to you for an #AMAZING - no - #PHENOMENAL Interview, and @ScooterBraun, THANKS A MILLION for your #TRANSPARENT and VERY #CANDID #PROFESSIONAL discussion! LOVED IT!
Explains exactly why a lot of Atlanta acts have suddenly swung the tide on breaking out independently. Old black, rich music executives are just as much of vultures as the old white ones. LA Reid is a Jew in a black man's body. Shady fucking industry. Props to Scooter.
