sir, In IRC 37 -2018( in 7.2.1 in the second paragraph ) it is mentioned that the drainage layer is the upper layer of GSB where G3 and G4 gradings are recommended whereas in MoRTH these gradings are used in the lower sub-base layer. where we have to use the lower subbase or in the upper sub-base layer? please clarify

Kya hum road mein jaha meri thickness GSB ki 200 mm specify kar rakhi h tab mujhe kon c grading use karni h morth mein likha h ki 5/6 prefer karni chahiye drainage cum sub base k liye Toh road mein dono purpose full fill karna chahiye sub base bhi or drainage ka bhi Toh phir grading 1,2,3,4 kyu use karne ko bola jata h Jab ki grade 1 to 4 only sub base purpose k liye use hoti h Clarify please

What is separation/filter layer. In my drawing 200 mm thickness is given. For your point of view suggest me the grading of GSB. Is grading 3 & 4 is suitable for this?

Why grade-3 & grade-4 of GSB are used pavement layer. and Why grade-1,2,5 & 6 are used in filter / separation layer. and If the one layer GSB grade -3 of 1mm & one layer of GSB grade-5 of 100 mm is used then will total crust of the GSB shall be counted as 200 mm or 100 mm only.

Main difference is the permeability, G3 and G4 have permeability more than 300m/day(which is mandatory for a layer to be used as a drainage layer), that's why they are recommended in the drainage layer.

Sir In my project i was used Grade 1, Thicknes 100mm , 100mm in two layers. This is right or wrong. As per yours video information only used 3 and 4 Grade.

*GSB* Cl. 7.2.1 of IRC 37 2018 suggests Gr-III & IV of MORTH specifications for drainage layer. And Gr. I, II, V, VI for filter/separation layer. But Cl. 401.2.1 of MORTH specifications suggests Gr. V, VI for sub base cum drainage layer and Gr. III, IV for lower sub base. Can you please clarify this confusion
