With Mingi I had this primal reaction, I just thought 'that's a MAN' like I love his masculinity on stage and then seeing how much of a sweetheart and how soft he is. That's taking duality to new levels..same with San as he is now as well.

Yes this 6' tall Babygirl Princess is my bias. Since the first time I heard him talk I completely 🫠 fell for him. He has always been Yuyu's Princess and he always will be and I love Yuyu for that.

Mingi and Yunho have been best friends since middle school, some 4 years before joining KQ. They attended different branches of the same dance academy and their instructor introduced them thinking they'd fit well together. And they did :) They both said they never got so close to someone so quickly. Mingi's mom even thought they were dating and said "Isn't the atmosphere between you two a bit too intense?" after the first time she saw them together. They happened to audition for KQ without the other knowing and both passed. Yunho joined immediately and then convinced Mingi to do the same. At debut, the official dance line was made up of Mingi, Yunho and Wooyoung. Now everybody is just so good that distinctions don't really matter anymore. Yunho created the nickname Princess for Mingi from the cartoon Mingki Gongju (Princess Mingki/Minky Momo), and in fact Mingki is another one of his nicknames (along with Mangi - from Wooyoung - and in the past Pinky - because it rhymes with Mingki and the cartoon princess has pink hair). iirc that princess costume set was actually a present from Hongjoong! But on the phone Yunho said "It will suit you well, Princess". Yunho calls Mingi Princess all the time and you can find countless videos of Mingi wearing tiaras at fan signs and on radio interviews. One time he even called himself "the queen" rather than the princess. He seems to really like playing into it 😂 Mingi used to be a slow eater in school and his friends would leave him behind to eat alone after they finished their lunch. So Yunho started going from his own school to Mingi's (like 1h away 🥴) on every lunch break and even treated Mingi to restaurant lunches. When Mingi went on hiatus, all of Ateez suffered, but especially Jongho (who said Mingi is his favorite hyung) and obviously Yunho. When Mingi came back, you could really see the difference in all of Ateez, but especially in Yunho 🥲 he was finally reunited with his partner in crime 😭 Yunho said that his duty is to make sure that Mingi is always happy. Meanwhile Mingi said that whether Yunho is happy or sad, Mingi will always be by his side. Mingi has also said that he wishes to take care of the others more. But several times Seonghwa said that Mingi is always taking care of people already, behind the scenes, when cameras aren't around (he always tries to play the part of the cool, aloof guy in front of the cameras... until tiaras and aegyo are involved, of course lol). He said that Mingi is always giving people food and making sure that the staff is well taken care of and in good spirits. He also said "Mingi always takes care of my meals". Even before debut, after dance practices, Mingi would go up to the others and suggest ways they could improve, then leave before they could even acknowledge or thank him, always shy to show how much he cared about everyone. Several times at events he even offered to order food for fans. Mingi's parents used to own restaurants, so I guess Mingi's love language it to make sure that the people he cares about never go hungry on his watch :) Mingi is particularly close to Jongho, and the others said that one time Mingi got drunk and couldn't stop talking about him, saying how all of Ateez need to take care of their maknae. When asked about it in a video, he simply said that "The youngest in a group often suffers in silence" so they all need to give Jongho special attention. The rest of Ateez agrees that Mingi "raised Jongho" despite being only 1 year older than him. Mingi said that when the others call him at night, he sometimes doesn't pick up, but that he always picks up if it's Jongho. Despite trying to portray himself as a cool guy and being an absolute beast on stage, Mingi is incredibly goofy, affectionate and sweet, often getting teased by the others for his awkward humor and lack of competitiveness (he can be really good, and recently won a sports competition against Jongho, Wooyoung and Yunho, the most athletically gifted in Ateez; but the thing is that he rarely tries: he seems to genuinely enjoy seeing the others win and being the center of attention even if it's in the form of getting teased). He's a 6ft1 princess baby girl, so sweet and pathologically incapable of fighting back that even Yeosang bullies him 😩 Some people call him scary or intimidating when his expression is literally this 🥺 24/7 off stage. He doesn't like being called scary and he even changed his animal emoji from a wolf to a baby chick 🐤 and in a recent live when asked if he's a wolf or a chick, he said "I'm a human, I'm baby" lol Honestly, Mingi's effect on people should be studied. Most of the fandom agrees that even if Mingi is not officially your bias... he still IS. Atiny just love him. He has a special place in everyone's heart and wreaks so many people every single comeback. His on and off stage duality causes whiplash and despite lying all the time for fun, he's also one of the most straightforward and honest idols I've ever seen. He's not afraid to drop his idol persona and call people out, even KQ's staff lol and his emotional honesty with the rest of Ateez is admirable. One time he told them he's terrified of going on stage because of his anxiety, and let the others reassure him. Another time he and Yunho were sitting apart for an interview and Mingi told him "I want to sit closer, I feel more stable when I'm with you" in front of everyone. Several times while others are on live and Mingi doesn't know, you can hear him in the background saying hi to them and that he loves them (I remember the smile on Seonghwa's face when Mingi entered the room saying "Hi, Seonghwa-hyung, saranghae"). But he's also just a human lol and one time he called Jongho a bastard on the phone without knowing he was on speaker 😂 Jongho had refused his calls until then because he was on live and it hurt Mingi's feelings 😂 So that's our Mingi ❤🔥
