Well, the mod allows you to pick between two different gameplay styles, a combat focused style (similar to Sonic Advance games) and a modern focused style (more boost styled fighting, plus his down air is the stomp ability from Unleashed and Gens)

Sonic was heavily rushed in Brawl as a last minute addition, so there is a reason as to why his moveset is so lazy. And I don't think Smash has done any character reworks, probably because it'd alienate existing players that already main the characters. Besides, if there were gonna be any reworks, I'd argue there are many other characters more deserving of it than Sonic, like Ganon. He pretty much still is a Captain Falcon clone.

Simple. Nintendo or smash dev teams don't care. As simple as that.

@@Aviii_ You know how Sonic boss fights are about avoiding their attacks until they expose a weak point??? That’s exactly how Sonic works in Smash. There are also challenges that Sonic and Shadow have a hard time clearing under 5 mins, Lost World from SA 1, Sandopolis zone from Sonic 3, Crazy Gadget from SA 2, and the Biolizard from SA 2.

​@@orangeslash1667what Sonic games have you been playing bro ? You can literally rush most bosses in Sonic games without using glitches or cheats. There are a few exceptions of course but that's all.

And to be honest Maria would actually cook Sonic in a fight yeah you don't want to hear but it's just the truth I don't want to go into all the details because it'll take me forever but most people who say Sonic will be Mario fire you probably just saying that because Sonic is either fast I always your favorite character it's a house while I'm talkin Sonic is literally my favorite character in Mario as well but Mario's more my favorite here's the thing though I'm not afraid to admit that Mario loses it's just hard for him to lose not going to lie if you were serious and to be honest in case you couldn't tell Mario tries every single time he actually goes on the fight or adventure

Sonic's fair does not combo,does very little damage(short hop sour sour spot nair does more damage than full hop fair)has 16 FRAMES of landing lag and no range,only useful as edge guard at high percents.A new fair like the eagle is more threatening to low recoveries and still edgeguards well with sour spot while also giving sonic a safe forward facing attack in neutral,new b-air d-air and up B also do the job better.

@@TheLongtailed Right? Sonic's edgeguarding is already good, so a F-air spike would be overkill. Imagine recovering on the right side of FD and Sonic runs to the left side, charges spin dash, flies all the way back to the right, TAPS you while in Ball form, and converts it into a F-air spike, it'd be ridiculous. The Top 10 fastest characters either have a stall then fall spike, exploitable recovery, a large frame or no spike at all. D-air being a spike is balanced because Sonic should put himself at risk if he's going for a spike, because he's already good at getting early kills from edgeguarding.

@@benjaminscott3526 Sakurai has a hard time representing characters that are canonically too powerful. So even if characters are faithful, Sakurai reduces them to ether their simplest incarnation or pick the moments in the characters history that is the hardest, rather than what's popular. Characters like Steve, Pac-man, ice climbers, Game and Watch are the opposite of Sonic. They less canonically power than Sonic and thus they are more deserving of representation. Sakurai vision is if a character has to be overly simplified to prevent them from being over powered, so be it!!!! Yes it's just as mean spirited as it sounds.

@@benjaminscott3526 Sadly its the only way. To make matters worse even if Nintendo wants another Smash, I don’t know if Sakurai wants to??? He says that he kinda has a problem with sequels, which is why he left the Kirby Series.
