The illegal invasion of Iraq was somewhat a UN failure also, as the UN was utterly afraid of speaking the truth and they tolerated everything, including the occupation, countless crimes of war, etc. Total cowardice. The UN also failed in Afghanistan, though of course the US invasion and carelessness or incompetence is the main culprit.

What is the difference between UN and leagues of Nations?? UN works better for the agenda of Us and its club whoever joins. When the same mechanism works without hinderance efficiently from embargoes/sanctions, use of force, provisions of aid, indictment in crimes done, issuance of arrest warrants...in some cases. But completely ignores, rejects , denies, delays in others. In both cases it is which case US club takes as Justice .
