I don't know how strong the Chinese army is now. But I do know that the Chinese army has not lost any war against usa, Soviet union, India since 1949, even with very old time weapons
@Frank China lost more men against the US in the Korean War, plus they failed to drive them out completely as the US still has a military presence there.

I love how confident these European analyst are. I just love his laugh while talking about how he doesn't know how Chinese military will perform. Lol. I love his arrogance and confidence. The British accent makes him sound smart than he actually is. 1: china has actually fought the Soviet union even when China was significantly weaker than the Soviet union. 2: china has already fought with America and the European allies in the Korean war. 3: the United States and Soviet union has only had a cold war or should I say cold feet about with each other. 4: china isn't the same china as it were during the 60's and it's a much more stronger. 5: I love the confidence of Europeans and how smart they think they truly are. Modern warfare is very very very different now. Many mighty/invincible weapons of the pass are now obsolete. Smart Ai and drones in every form are now the future of warfare.
China's war against Vietnam was influenced by the Soviet Union, a neighboring country in the north, and had to take the initiative to retreat after winning the early stage. If China attacked Vietnam with no scruples like the United States, it would be a different result.
The difference being the US had to come across the Pacific and China was right there and the US STILL performed better. Same thing in Korea. You like looking at numbers? Compare casualties. Keeping in mind that the Chinese lie.
@@Rjsjrjsjrjsj Whether the war is won or not depends not on numbers, but on whether the strategic purpose is achieved. From this point of view, the United States has failed in Vietnam and Korea, while China has achieved its strategic purpose. Your history teacher didn't teach you, did he? The West's media - including this channel, are always selective and miserly with the truth. Firstly, all western countries including the US recognize that Taiwan is a part of China (One China principle as it is called), and Taiwan itself has a constitution that states it is a part of China. What Taiwan doesn't recognize is the legitimacy of communist rule over China, a bit like Republican Texas (with its own national and air guard) saying it is part of the US but doesn't recognize Democrat rule over the US. As the British have shown with Scotland and the Spanish with Catalonia, you can’t declare or hold an independence referendum without the permission of the rest of the country. Meaning constitutionally Taiwan needs the approval of the rest of China to declare independence, not just Taiwanese residents. The claim of the US defending democracy doesn't hold water when you consider that Taiwan used to be a dictatorship, supported by the US, until its democratic elections in 1996. This shows US support for Taiwan historically extends beyond defending democracy in Taiwan. Chinese forces fought in the 1950s Korean war, the 1960s Sino-Indian war and border war against the USSR, against Vietnam in the 1970s as well as being involved in sporadic border clashes (artillery exchanges) with India to date. Besides, how many wars has Taiwan fought recently? The last war it fought in the late 40s was the Chinese civil war, and should the US come to the aid of Taiwan then any war would be a naval war. When was the last time the US fought a naval war? The last western country to fight a naval war was Britain in the 1980s Falklands war. So claims of Chinese war inexperience are oversold.
if ccp had not so ruthlessly denied prodemocracy chinese a chance to express themselves then the usa would have no need to get involved. its like hearing a rogue wild animal which specialises on eating people and you pretend it doesnt exist! the attitude china showed in slaughtering those people was directed at the USA. it revealed chinas future plans!! china will NEVER be allowed to make taiwan submit by force even if it means nukes china must stop playing the victim anymore it doesnt suit it
communist socialists are allowed even political play in the west yet china murders every one who even hints at desiring the west. tell me doesnt that deserve strong response from the west??
@@maisa5943 BLLX. The USA was chased completely out of Korea. They waited until the Chinese went back to China, reinvaded a war-torn country and declared a new border. In EVERY military combat event in Korea the Americans were completely routed.
You would have to go back to WW2 as in both the germans and the Japanese had very comparable military capabilities. The reason why America won was because of it tremendous military wartime manufacturing. German and Japan could not even come close. Modern China is a Manufacturing power house where in some cases actually surpasses the U.S . Just take a look at their ship building in the last decade.

They don't care to waste money to be military superpower, just enough to protect their country from invaders. That is why there is only one foreign Chinese military base, not 800 like the US.
The border war with Vietnam is not a real war but rather border clash. It is more like live-fire-exercise to China ( and Vietnam at some degree). Casualty is quite unnoticeable to both but the damage to VN economy is devastating 1/ the recovering-from-recent-war VN had to spend good portion of their very thin capital on defense instead of economic development. 2/ less trade with China (which was still very important back then)
Sino-Soviet Conflicts can be seen as a clash, but Sino-Vietnamese War 1979 is real war, or you can say Sino-Vietnamese Conflicts 1979-1991 is big clash, China got some strategic goals after Third Indochina War. 1.CCP punished Vietcong for being pro-Soviet by destroying all infrastructure built by CCP on border during Vietnam War, 2.CCP stopped Vietcong for unifying whole French Indochina Federation by harassing Vietnam on border and sponsoring Khmer Rouge against Vietcong. 3.CCP also sponsored Afghan mujahideen during Soviet-Afghan War 1979-1989, Afghanistan and Indochina weakened Soviet economy, 4.China broke through Soviet encirclement after Soviet withdrew from Afghanistan, Vietnam withdrew from Cambodia, northern and southern threats disappeared.
Hogwash. Vietnam economy was fallen in 1990s during the breakup of Soviet Union, not because of China's invasion 1979. In fact it was Chinese lost: unable to at least reaching Hanoi and subjugate Vietnam out from Cambodia. Cambodia under Khmer Rouge / Pol Pot at the time was a Chinese satellite. Vietnamese troops stayed there until 1989 and Pol Pot was ousted from powet.
You think China can't fight & win Militarily? What a joke. The USA wary of losing Militarily is always up for Bloc Confrontation hence the need for (AUKUS, NATO). Do you think USA military can win a formidable Military? USA is engulfed with Soviet Union won World War 2, that they think they can now defeat anything? Well they learnt a bitter reason in Vietnam. Afghanistan Taliban with no airpower were able to fight and win the USA Invaders after 20 years. USA wanting not to lose face engaged in Economic war with Afghanistan after losing Militarily. The same Economic war they are waging with Russia and Russia is defeating them both Militarily, Politically, Economically & otherwise. Now small population of 322 Americans think they can stand a chance against the world greatest Economy China which has a population of 1.4 Billion people? They think the 21st Century is like the 19th or 20th Centuries when you can wage a war far from your boarder or shore and win? Countries are now developing aircraft carrier killer (hypersonic precision guided missile) and Strong Navy this is aimed at preserving their National & Territorial integrity. USA is with The Illusion that It's Subordinate in Asia(Japan, South Korea, UK) is willing to risk their Economy, and aid them(USA) in a war against China? They think they can easily resupply without their Aircraft carrier and Ships getting blown and sunk deep in the Ocean? Well let's see how this plays out. The Weak and Geopolitical disadvantaged USA is trying to revive a Dying Hegemony and deadbeat Military. USA think they can fight and win 7252 miles away from their shores? One thing about modern warfare is you can legitimatize Striking any territory actively engaged in hostilities against your Nation. Should the USA go the wrong path China Reserves the right of self defense and can strike target even in USA Guam Base, Alaska, California, New York, Texas, Georgia, Atlanta, Chicago and any territory China deems fit of causing harm to the Chinese Nation. So don't aid/attack and expect limited retaliation it isn't the rule of modern war fare..
Let us be perfectly frank on this subject... How many wars has the US initiated and won since the Korean Civil War which it should not have involved itself? None! The most important aspect of any war are the nation's people and as regards this Russia, China and Iran have demonstrated beyond doubt that their homogenous societies are what makes the difference. Every military since the Roman's have generally failed for two reasons, because their societies were not homogenous and soldiers paid to perform have only money as their incentive and this never has worked for any nation. Probably the worse nation facing this problem is the US, the political oligarchs have for centuries kept the nation divided. It's either arguing of the division between democrats and Republicans, racial issues tops the scale, wealth disparity and gender. The best example of this was demonstrated during the Viet Nam war when US troops, per their commanding officer, requested they be withdrawn because as a fighting force they no longer existed. If they were not withdrawn the army would degenerate, into a mob. So, you're considering a force, the US, seeking waging a war against a people in their own territory, expecting the US force which has no legitimate reason being in Asia, to fight as hard as will the Chinese... this is sheer folly. We witnessed this in the German USSR war where despite the USSR confronting the most successful, well equipped, best trained military in the world but did not give up ultimately destroying the invader. No, there's no question China would win hands down and this needs be realized by US oligarchs.
And all those wars we fought in are government pulled us out of every war in Plus the didn't use the full might of are military so we really didn't lose so your research buddy then come at me with a response

@ Michael L Well technically they did win the war in Iraq both times. The USA successfully overthrew Saddam and neutralized Iraqs military. They only failed to restore peace and order, which really was the new government’s job. Same with Afghanistan, their government was successfully toppled, but insurgents would hide amongst the civilians and Harass the Americans until they left. To understand China, to study China, it depends on the SOURCE that you're studying about, e.g. how neutral the source was, how true it is, any bias etc. Another thing is that, to accurately understand China, understanding its CULTURE is indispensable. If you ignore its cultural spirit, many outcomes can be out of your anticipations.
Interesting you mentioned about a team. Many pointed out that Chinese are really good in individual events in Olympics but not on team sports. Geez, the 'expert's' answer was 'it's modern, but otherwise we don't know', then goes on to state obvious geo-politics. There are a number of questions IMO - 1) how much of the Chinese army is deployed internally (palace guard and/or deployed against Chinese citizens)? 2) Does the extra layer of Party command help or hurt rapid responses? History indicates too much control is not a good thing. 3) Is China's significant investment's in large platforms such as tanks, naval ships, fighter aircraft actually a good investment? I'd argue that no country is in a position to invade China and there are obvious threats to the supremacy of such expensive large platforms - see the problems Russian armor, air and naval packages are having from drones and truck-or-shoulder fired weapons. I note China is developing specialized stealth carrier aircraft but gave a huge contract to Airbus to supply the next replacement to 737 civil jetliners even though China needs far more civil airliners than it does carrier aircraft...
One way to find out. Make sure Pelosi goes to Taiwan. If she cancels her trip then its official that the U S is way weaker than China. Pentagon will know. A big humiliation for the U S coming soon🤣🤣🤣
China is relying heavily on exploited stolen tech from various nations even russia lol all their older stuff most of it was their versions of soviet tech, newer stuff is mix match of everything its weird and kinda dumb looking
1. Internally there is the PAP, equivalent of US national guard that relieved the PLA of the security role. 2. The political layer allowed the unit to be more autonomous as under the consensus between the military and the political commander, the unit can sidestep higher command order when situation requires. That’s what allowed flexibility for the PLA to conduct guerrilla warfare during its early days. 3. China invests heavily into drones, so its not just the big items that’s receiving all the attention.
If you actually look thru and dissect the Chinese weaponry it's mostly 'improved' Soviet era weapons from Russia and American knockoffs, with the odd bit of French 'down-teched' stuff. And 98% of it has never seen conflict so can quite easily fall apart or at least not work as required in genuine use. Where the Chinese are truly dangerous is their high tech hacking and disruption techniques, with proven abilities to not only knock out US comms but even shut down the US nuclear arsenal command codes. It's no use having a better military if you can't use it... and this is the only reason the US axis treats China with caution. All that said... once the nukes start flying no other country has a chance, the US war game from deep underground is by far the dominant force. The Chinese simply don't have the means to continue on the ground after a nuclear strike.
Times have changed, these people have no idea who they're really dealing with over seas!! The new China is not like the old China where the western world think they can jus walk through them. How can you beat a enemy when you know nothing about them or their culture? I'm pretty sure they know quite about us and our culture here in the US.
China's military may be very large and have a lot of resources but they've never fought a major conflict, they're only experience with conflict is on their borders and inside the country, they have never really fought a major conflict abroad. I'm not saying they wouldn't do well, but resources and technology aren't everything. Some of the smallest yet most combat experienced militaries have been very successful against large reinforced militaries in history. And guerrilla warfare tactics even in a large dense country still would be very effective against a modern military. This is one of the reasons why the US won't engage on a mass scale with its own citizens, they know they would lose. So they're trying to slowly make all sorts of things illegal until the Constitution is voided out by default.
The only current countries that have actually experience on modern war is Russia and Ukraine... US doesnt have any experience in a modern war... The only experience US have is Fighting third world armies with Stone age tecnology
@@antoniolsls7774 Russia and Ukraine are the only conventional war that has been fought really as far as modern warfare, I definitely agree with that. I am unaware as to Russia and Ukraine standing as far as the Geneva convention and the rules of war. But supposedly war crimes maybe getting committed on both sides if you consider the rules of conventional warfare. Now in the case of insurgent or guerrilla warfare as it has been explained to me, the Geneva convention does not apply because they are not considered uniformed members of a specific military. The reason I bring this up is because supposedly by the conventional rules of warfare which both countries have violated they're technically not fighting a conventional war
Analyze this: In 1941 , Japanese navy and air force was considered superior to Americans. Mitsubishi zero fighter planes were vastly advanced. But Americans had secret weapons like radio jamming devices , radar , Lancaster bombers and atomic bombs. Japan soon realised that attacking America was a blunder mistake. China is not going to make the same mistake. Anyway, the Americans are right at their doorstep with patriot and THAAD missiles in Taiwan, Japan, S. Korea and Guam. It's like Vito Corleone pointing a gun on you and saying: "I have an offer that you cannot refuse. " Americans are pointing their big guns at China. If there is a war, only the Chinese coastal cities will be devastated. The history of the 20th century testifies that Americans want their enemies to underestimate American firepower. Only when the war starts, Americans reveal their secret arsenal. And secret intentions. (Perhaps a new opium war ....) Today Americans have military bases all over the world. NATO, S. Korea , Australia, Japan (and possibly India) will rally behind uncle Sam if a big war erupts in the Pacific again. The puppet regimes in Gulf will undoubtedly obey the Americans by imposing petroleum embargo on China in event of war. China doesn't have the mineral and petroleum resources of its own. In Quality and quantity, American hegemony cannot be challenged this century. Grace ❗
They’re a paper tiger. They couldn’t even do a 3-day training exercise with the US. Their troops were literally crying & they had to stop the exercise to bring in entertainment to bring yo their morale… imagine these clowns having to go into actual battle… 😂
We know just how "modern" the chinese military actually is. Ask the Russian soldiers in Ukraine. Chinese knock-off equipment has been deployed there and has been failing. The famous Chinese "quality" is applicable to their military hardware as well.
USA/NATO military dominance is over if they go to war against China. Some Chinese soldiers didn't even have shoes in the Korean war in the 1950s and they still managed to draw against the USA/NATO armies, can you imagine what will happen now. The USA/NATO hegemony will be over if they go to war against China. China has way more strong trade partners so sanctions won't cripple China and also they have excellent diplomatic relationships with most countries in the world and the world needs China's services. China is way more powerful than even Russia. The USA/NATO is way over their heads when it comes to trying to go to war against China. Also most NATO armies won't support USA in a war against China but that doesn't really matter because China can destroy all of them if they did.
In the Vietnam war the Vietnamese were using their reserves while their main soldiers were in Cambodia fighting. Basically Chinese best soldiers were fighting the Vietnam reserves and loss badly
Point is china don’t have experience in warfare and 0 experience naval warfare. China actually was hiding until the active duty was in Cambodia before attacking cus they knew they couldn’t beat the real Cambodia real military.
I don’t recall if Xi has ever visited Taiwan, how on earth Taiwan is part of China?? Afterall, Taiwan has its own set of law and order and an elected President.
