Ukitake was one of my favourite characters when I watched the OG Bleach. Not because of his powers or whatever but because of his personality. I loved his laid back attitude so much. Especially in the fight against Lilinette.
I liked the filler episode when they were at the beach, and Ukitake is portrayed as dead 😂 the jokes of him in the show being like sick or dead were funny.
@@MikeWoodburn-jh9tc Being relative to a base Shunsui already makes him strong enough to beat Itachi as well as most of Naruto. Just using Base Shunsui in itself is a low-ball considering he's stated to be on par with Shunsui which does make sense
@@krishnachaturvedi2627 That was cold, his shikai is a counter to most ranged and kido based attacks. I'd even argue he can absorb reiatsu and barragans respira with that although that might be a stretch. No wonder kubo wrote him out the story, mans a beast.
Ukitake for me was always am ambiguous character, even after TYBW finished, there were a lot of unanswered questions about him, hopefully we get to see him again out of the oven if u know what I mean👀
His illness would’ve always had his potential in check though. Doubt he could go Bankai and live to see the end of it ala his role of keeping the SK “alive”.
A typical know-it-all Gaijin lol Wasted potential? Would you say that to a popular professional author? And while foreigners say to show everything, the author can attract the viewer's interest by not showing everything. It's important to leave space for the viewer to imagine, and if you can't do that then your country's anime is boring. Gaijin
@@novrinkov0053 i didn't say nothing about how id write the story. I understood his role in the grand scheme of things. I just wish he did more. Silly comment bro.
The second most reiatsu?! Meaning even more than Shunsui's, Byakuya's, Kenpachi's?! Well that is a God darn deadly sickness he must have, solos half of the verse if gets contagious.
Tbf when they faced against Yamamoto, the rankings were made clear. They were above every shinigami besides Yama and Unohana. (We didn't know about Unohana back then tho)
Though it was never mentioned throught the anime about Unohana's history.. i wonder if they all knew about her past. Also, in the current TYBW anime, i honestly thought the kid coming from the shadows to stab Ywach in the Original Gotei 13 flashback was Kyoraku 😂 that would have been so much more badass to know that oh Kyoraku is from that era and thats how he knew Unohana was the 1st Kenpachi. @@kakashihatake1029
@@meshiemeshmesh They hint about it as early as in the SS arc. I'll tell you about it at the bottom of this comment. They knew she was Kenpachi because when Yamamoto made the new Gotei, those two were there first members (after Unohana) and got trained under her. She was also the first one to get promoted to captain by Yama as in the old Gotei. So she was the first member in both Gotei and her Legacy was well known due to her being the biggest criminal in the history and the holder of Kenpachi. Kyoraku said himself in " fall back the pekginum" when it was a discussion of who's the oldest Captains. Ukitake said that Kyoraku forgot to name Unohana and Kyoraku responded " You're right! I wouldn't wanna get scolded by my sensi for forgetting her " as she shows up behind them scaring them both. And then obviously Zaraki knew first hand. The amount of times Zaraki showed her respect even when not getting as he wants is crazy. And Isane also knew about her truth. She understood why she had to fight Zaraki and when she asked zaraki where Unohana was, he replied that he killed her. She then replies " so it's true, you are the one who holds Captain Unohana's taital? " Then Gremmy asks who Zaraki is and he replies " I'm Kenpachi " And when the 11th division was hurt and stayed at squad 4 bariks. They were disrespectful to the members of squad 4 until Unohana showed up behind them and they literally peed their pants and begged for forgiveness. One thing that I haven't quite figured out is why Yoruichi was disrespectful to Unohana in the fall back the pekginum. But I guess, because Yoruichi is a royal from the Shihōin Royal house, she looks down on Unohana for being a roofless murder in disguise. There are so many hints in the anime hitting her secret but also hinting that everybody else also knows. In the SS arc when Aizen's body was found. Captain Tösen and captain Komamura came to Unohana to ask her about Aizen. She said "Don't you worry, soon I'll be joining the Frontline myself" As captain Tösen and Komamura are (kneeling down) behind her, something captains don't do around other captains Indicating that they knew. Infact, the captains don't even kneel down to the head captain ever. Kneeling down is something that lieutenants do. Also when Unohana confronted Aizen he wasn't surprised that she were the one who would thigure it out. He also commends her for the fact that she seen thru Kyoka Suigetsu. And he refused to fight her, he fights momo and Hitsugaya so why not attack Unohana? It's simple, he knew all about her and her past. And he was probably scared for the fact that she could she thru his SHI-KAI. He knew, if she fought him, he would be in deep water. Keep in mind that he hasn't extracted the hogyoku from Rukia at that point.
@@BladeZlayer boss level comment.. such a complete backstory.. sad we just never got to see more of Unohana. Thanks for the response. Truly appreciate it.
Ye we don't know way to much about his sickness. He was supposed to die as a kid. Mimihagi is the only reason he stayed alive, that and his bottomless spiritual energy holding him together.
I’m under the impression that he’s stronger than Shunsui but held back by his illness. I swear it was even suggested that the only reason he didn’t take the Head Captain position was his illness.
I hope ukitake gets expanded upon in the anime. His role in TYBW left more questions than answers about him and just made him that more interesting besides being the nicest captain ever and always being sick.
@@User5hdbh 617, for the reiatsu, comparing him to all other captains, as for his swordplay it's mentioned by yama early in the manga talking about him and shunsui can't rmb specifically when. Also there's a direct comparison in power as ukitake was able to hold the soul king's power within him to keep him alive which if you compare to the other parts especially the pernida and Gerard the power levels are massive.
@DeskDown5464 he's capping. I could be remembering slightly wrong but in around chapter 617 or whenever the shinigami are making the gate, Nanao claims that ukitake had the highest reiatsu of all the captains who were present. Meaning he's second to Yama and mabye 3rd (if Unohana has higher reiatsu than him). I suspect he was probs 2nd tho since Unohana seems like more of a strength based character
@@kakashihatake1029 it doesn't say present in japanese, it says "of the captains." and like i mentioned there is the scaling comparison to other parts of the soul king.
So hopeful now that his health isn't an issue we might get to see him go all out in the Hell Arc. He's one of those characters I was so frustrated at never seeing his Bankai before he died. Fingers crossed. ☘️
Byakuya will always be my favorite Captain but rewatching OG Bleach from when I watched it growing up. I realized that when Byakuya was about to unleash his Senbonzakura for the 1st time on the bridge against Ichigo it was Ukitake that stopped him and with an unusual slightly eerie-stale expression on his face catching even the calm, wise and precise Byakuya off guard I knew something about Ukitake was different & it wasn’t just that awesome white hair
He would be one of the last fighters. The king of hell might be the final antagonist unless kubo does something else and makes the king of hell not the real enemies.
Mhmm i think after he died and went to hell his reiatsu increased significantly probably made him the ruler of hell instead of yama i think he has alot more reiatsu then hell yama
It could be a possibility we see it during the anime TYBW. Tite Kubo has always expressed how annoyed he was that he had to rush the end before revealing the other bankais, and so far Kubo revealed Shinji Hirako’s, Unohana Kenpachi’s, and Senjumaru Shutara’s. It does suck that the other 3 members of Squad Zero had to die for Shutara to use her bankai, but we’ll see what happens.
Well, the creator of bleach Kubo did say that because of rushing the thousand year blood war in the magna he had to take a few shortcuts he said in the anime there’s going to be content that was not in the original source so we might get to see both Ukitake and Aizen Bankai
I have always known Ukitaki, Shunsui and Unohana were one of the strongest captains since SS arc. The way Kubo only pitched them against Yamma, how Zaraki never disrespected them, how they never revealed their bankai/full strengths when in combat was very foreshadowing to me
Ukitake's abilities have always been an odd point of contention, the dude has ONE properly explored fight in the entire show, in which he only skims the surface of Sogyo no Kotowari's ability, purposefully playing coy with how it works and then getting backstabbed by an custom build a bear arrancar meant to kill Yamamoto himself. We KNOW he's strong, but we have basically no metric on how strong he is, aside from the fact that this dude was destined to basically die as a toddler and became one of the most respected and distinguished Captains of the Soul Society in spite of being crippled, even with a god stopping him from dying. Comparing him to Kyoryaku is fair I'd say, and it's the obvious pick, but considering he was keeping pace with him all the while having a body that would make him bedridden on the regular, it's safe to say Ukitake by far had the greater potential of the two of them.
Honestly I think his power is absolute reflection, like Shunsui he has an area of reflect tbag can reflect and an all attacks back at its enemy with twice the power. Kinda like when Nel eats a Cero and fires it back with her spiritual pressure mixed in with it onky Ukitake can do that with any attack and can even use it to protect his friends and allies in that area of affect. It may be even powerful enough to cancel out Aiden’s Shikai of perfect hypnosis cause it also elicited all ailments or affects that target people and affect the mind.
His bakai has been expeculate that can absorb the reiatsu of all enemies in a big area, probably even the reiatsu of soul sociaty itself and other shinigami too
Thank you for the Reiatsu quote. I somehow overlooked his TYBW feat and neglected his power level purely down to his sickness. In terms of Equal, I believe they’re equal in different ways where Shunsui’s battle IQ and abilities balance with Jushiro’s counters/defensive abilities. As depicted many times, a personified sword and shield partnership. Also, Shunsui is also a low tier Transcendant level due to the fact that his release was noticed by Transcendant Ichigo and Aizen himself claimed that you only sense power when you’re on the same level of close enough to the user.
Honestly shunsui was like sukuna in jjk with all his abilities have conditions and everytime he break such rules it causes him to be in a bad situation like sukuna lost in final battle because he overlapt his binding vows making him lose to be honest it also kind of cool since imagine with each fight you can change your stats mid battle which make sense and not op but impressive if you know how to use it
i literally just read the bleach hell arc one shot and i NEED Kubo to finish because jushiro ukitake was literally one of the first names mentioned to be watching
I dunno. There's always something poetic about having a character like this. We all know people who are good who have to dedicate much of their time and energy to fighting sickness, and there's always a question of what they would accomplish if that wasn't in the way.
I think he is way more powerful then people realize due to the fact that kubo always ❤s the untapped power aspect of most important characters in the manga way more than the anime.
@@pasherz960anime needs blue prints. Alot of animes are taken from middle eastern ancient stories. Like the phoenix for example that's taken from a middle eastern stories that's been told for over 2000 years ago. Lands of the unknown with crazy things like the creation of Jinn can be seen . If u read Books from the travelers like ibn batoota and ibn fadlan. If you read old Arabian books you'd see alot of these anime are taken from these books. If you watch bleach carefully its talking about 3 worlds. That's also been taken from Islam. In Islam we say there's the world of the living , the world of the برزخ I believe its called isthmus(world of the dead) and btw once you go to sleep you die temporarily and your soul travels to that world(sometimes you end up seeing your dead relatives, but some times demons take that form where you think its them but not really. Depending on the msg you get from them) and the afterlife world where heaven and hell exist
His bankai might be a mirror world where the enemy will have to fight themselves. This is considering that his shikai's ability allows him to redirect his enemies attacks back to them.
If Ukitake were to suddenly get a clean bill of health, he'd instantly become a Special Threat and could one shot half the Sternritter with Shikai alone.
KKR channel RU-vid pe sahi strategy apna raha hai growth ke liye. Pehle S8UL ke saath collab karna aur Ocean Sharma jo ki ek well versed RU-vid commentator hai aur influencer bhi, ko apne account ka kind of anchor type role dena is a wise decision ✌️
Hmmm 2 powerful captains kept head captain occupied for some time. Soi Fon was taken by Yoruichi. Unohana was a healer captain. Komamura and Tosen were busy against Kenpachi Zaraki. Kurotsuchi Mayuri didn't care about anybody's fight. Hitsugaya Toshiro was occupied in saving Hinamori and had some doubts related to Central 46. That's how it went very convenient for Ichigo. He had to fight only Byakuya Kuchiki. Otherwise, he came to fight everybody who will come in way.
I'm just here shuddering at the taught of Kubo actually changing the anime like he already has and we hear Ukitake say Bankai in one of the fights.... I'm gonna scream like a little girl.
