People want to diss her beating Sasori because it’s technically non-cannon but with her abilities what makes people think it wouldn’t go that way? There is a bit of inconsistency with Konan…namely her weakness to fluids.

Her ability to strategize greatly increases her level of strength, she pushed Obito to a point of vulnerability we had never seen before. She’s on par with the highest level of Shinobi. It felt like this was more opinionated than based off of actual facts

4:38 in this part I pretty much explain how her prep time made her look stronger than she was. Now I kind of get why you think this, but understand she doesn’t have much feats to go off of so her level of power is hard to determine. But from what we know she only was able to nearly beat obito because she had info and prep, meaning that if she didn’t have both those things obito would have no diff’d her.

@@TheOmniSavage Who do you think could have cracked the orange mask and done so much damage to Obito in Konan's situation? She did all that before the ocean of paper bombs. If nothing else, her speed and AP must be far higher than even most kage level characters since Obito trivializes so many of them far worse.

@@williamt8234 There are plenty of shinovi how could have like Naruto, tsunade, onoki, etc. Obito doesn’t have crazy durability; we just never seen him get hit with something powerful because of kamui. If anything if he took her seriously, he wouldn’t have taken nearly as much damage. And also you need to remember the only reason why he got is because he underestimated her. Which is stated. If you want to say her AP is higher than other kages, go ahead but that doesn’t really help konan’s scaling.

To be fair Konan was mentally nerfed in her battle with Jiraiya. She said she could kill him but Sakura said the same thing about Sasuke and stopped herself at the last second. This is further implied by Konan first being able to avoid and tank Jiraiya’s flame bomb, then having ellipses, and Jiraiya stating she was always the kindest among the three (Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan.)

Its hard to powerscale because she has no feats or solid statements. She has one feat of pushing obito to use izanagi but she had a lot of preptime. Her other feats are not canon like her defeating sasori when recruiting him. Fighting the aburame clan off puts her at High Tier Jonin atleast. She's an exception in the akastuki she was'nt recruited by obito or scouted by zetsu but obito didn't want to kill her because keeping her around would make nagato comply, so she's the only one not selected for her power. Jiraiya did make her look weak by one shotting her but her weakness is oil and Jiraiya knew her weakness. I will put her at high Tier Jonin because she was able to keep up with obito and blow him up minus the sea of paperbombs she did better than fuu and torume against him.

She seriously damaged Obito before using the prepped ocean, which is more Minato did with a potentially biju level rasengan and more than almost any character in the entire story could have hoped to accomplish.

@@williamt8234 Yes she’s the first person to seriously damage Obito without space and time ninjutsu. She did blow off his mask and his arm BEFORE the sea of paper bombs which is what fans fail to remember. Also she moved so fast in paper form Obito needed the sharingan precognition to even see her and find her. Also anyone tangible she could wrap paper around their mouth and nose and suffocated them. Which is why she is very dangerous. People also think her paper is weak to elements but she tanked a firestyle point blank and she lives in the hidden rain and the rain doesn’t effect her paper

@@TimXMan1000 Definitely, these are great points. I also realized that it might be a bit unfair to not count her prep in general too since she might be able to move it around. Many characters have lots of prep that is critical to their builds, like Deidara having all his clay ready or Tsunade having her healings stored up. If not for focusing specifically on prepping just for one of the strongest characters, she could have easily prepped more generally instead.

1) Jiriaya had a perfect counter to her paper jutsu. A counter that Tsunade and Orochimaru do not have. 2) Jiriaya trained Konan and she's not nearly as complex and mysterious as Pain.

She did better against Jiraiya than Itachi and Kisame did. She told Pain she would attend to Jiaraiya until Pain showed up and then did exactly that, keeping him out in the open. What reason would she have to go all-out against someone who certainly would never try to kill her? Context is important.

So? Itachi and Kisame gave up after 1 move. Context is important.
