WOW i recently watched the 2 yers ago vid xD finally understanding what and how stuff worked its pretty cool thanks for making this vid and I AM DISSAPOINTED HOW THEY ENDED THE FIRST PART OF SEASON 4 such a cliffhanger uuugh
i am just waiting for when the 2nd part of this season ends and having another review in bell's op power. the liberated potential against the flying kamikase bords, the evolved moss, juggernaut and the depp floors, bells power is not only going to increase, but increase 2 FRIKCING TIMES, this is gona be awesome
@@alexanderflores-MazterDestiny You mean 10fold... heh heh he is literally going to fight an anomaly in the dungeon thats means to kill even lvl 5/6/7 and above adventurers from exploiting the dungeon the power scaling is insane everyone keeps doubting Bell but his an unpolished diamond
Honestly, he will just continue growing forever since he does have the determination of an Undertale Protag, and even if his target for admiration dies, his feelings don't, so as long as there is one guy stronger than him, he will grow, or as long as there are girls in the dungeon.
To put that comparison into perspective for non-Undertale fans, the Undertale protagonist, Frisk, has enough determination so that 6 human souls ( one of the biggest sources of determination in the Undertale universe ) combined with the souls of all monsters of the game's world ( which roughly approximate to 1 human soul in quantity ) was not enough to surpass it. Or at least, that's how it is in the True Pacifist route. When Frisk has not killed a single monster on their way to the Barrier.
Seeing Bell improve as an overpowered protagonist through all the seasons is a reason why I like this anime so much. Instead of having some character doing a one episode training arc, all his progression is well written during all his experiences, and the way you explain it really hype me up for what's coming. I can't wait to have him compared with the level 6 adventurers.
@@Monty2289 thats weird. To me, this series is the one that did progression the best. Showed incremental improvements and really explored how they can interact together. They show them learning. Trial by error. To me that's best way to progress a character.
@@Monty2289 I think it's mostly because the anime skipped many parts from the novels, that's why it felt some of his development are cramped. Especially Novel 8
Debatable. One moment that completely turned me off from watching the anime was when Bell was getting his butt whooped by this level 3 guy. So Bell goes training and has this cringe moment of, "your enemy is weakest when he's most confident" or something like that. And offscreen, Bell becomes level 3 and is straight up just completing dominating the same guy in both speed and power. But of course there needed to be a cringe flashback moment, so Bell gets caught off guard and is about to finished off. But of course, Bell remembers his training lesson, so he counterattacks and wins. Talk about a cringe moment with false tension.
Small but actually important correction: Bell's _Ox Slayer_ doesn't only activate against minotaurs, but against all _"Bull type"_ monsters. That's the reason it activated against the Moss Huge, it was a Bull type monster. They showed his Falna glowing through his shirt at one point near the end, that's the Ox Slayer skill activating
Actually, Bell’s stat totals before leveling up to level 4 are likely higher than what you showed. If you read the short story “The Goddess and Familia Member’s Night before the Decisive Battle,” you will know that the highest level 2 stats we know for Bell are from before the war game with the Apollo familia, not from after it, so Bell’s level 2 stats after the war game are currently unknown and are likely several hundred points higher in total than his currently highest-known level 2 stats.
@@lilbillreacts7800 I watched it the illegal way in a website but I don't remember the name,if you want to watch it the safe way thers hidive and it's cheap like $5
This was an excellent video and I learned much about Bell that I didn't before. I quite like him as the protagonist and he is one of the reasons I adore Damachi as a whole. I am super excited for part 2 of season 4 and cannot wait to see Bell finish his fight against the Juggernaut.
Bell got to floor 10 within a month and proceeded to level up every month afterwards. It took Ais a whole year to get to floor 10 and is now level 7 after 8-9 years of being an adventurer. Our boy is gonna be on new game plus by years end.
It is stated in the books that at this point, Bell had a similar level of speed to Gale Wind. Ryu had A-grade speed. That would mean that three levels of over power had just closed the gap with the top of Bell's new level. So only at the top of his level 4 would he be equal to a lvl 5. Once he hits lvl 5, he would be equal to a low rank lvl 6.
@@atheoristspointofview7059 I'm guessing her lowest stat should be on top B ranks, considering her fame as one of the strongest Lv4s in Orario, but she has taken a good break from entering the Dungeon and without a party she can't consistently go grind for EXP either. But she did fight the Sword Princess, Asterius and now the Juggernaut, so that must count for a boost in stats. If she hasn't asked any gods to update her stats, then she should be ready to become a Lv5 at this point, I'm guessing. But then again, Bors complained that it took him 2 full years to reach Lv2, so it's possible she also stagnated.
@@TwilightWolf032 only the god of a child's familia is able to update the status, so Ryu couldn't ask anyone but Astraea herself to do the update. she certainly gained excelia in the fights against the Black Goliath as well as the fights you mentioned, and we know that she is taking time off from the pub to go pay her respects to Astraea familia's grave, meaning she'll have to kill monsters to get down to floor 18. might not be a huge amount each time, but it's gonna accumulate nonetheless. so whenever she does visit Astraea and lets her update her status, I'll assume she's going to jump to level 5. regarding bors, keep in mind that among all adventurers, more than half are level 1. that's how difficult ranking up actually is for regular folk, Bell's growth is just so absolutely insane it's skewing all perception
I keep forgetting that Bell's journey is happening within a span of months and not years. He really is monstrous to become so powerful in less time than veteran adventurers who have been in the grind for decades.
Also, higher levels extend your life and youth, so many of these older-looking high-level adventurers have likely been working at it even longer than it looks like they would have been. Finn has said he's actually 42, despite looking 20ish, and the reason for his apparent youth is his high level. The interesting thing to think about is, if Bell grows this fast, and is gaining lifespan as he grows, the only limit to his lifespan would likely be the waning determination he may face after he's either reached whatever goal he ultimately settles on or finds that as he lives on, his interest in becoming stronger wanes as he watches everyone he's known grow old and die... and even then, who knows how long his lifespan would have gotten by then. He may end up eventually losing his determination, and then end up spending another thousand years alive with no drive or purpose. I mean Finn is level 6 and looks half his age. It's not stated how early in life he started leveling, but even if he started on the day he was born which is unlikely, it still would have taken him most of his life to reach level 6. Basically, level 6 would have to be quite a bit more than double the life expectancy. I would guess level 3 or 4 would be double, and power grows logarithmically with each level, so it's possible level 6 would be around 10x life expectancy. It wouldn't be impossible for level 9 to be 100x or 1000x, partially just because we're not given a lot of information on just how much life expectancy grows.
Honestly it's so extreme it's a bit immersion breaking to me. I mean, at least make it take the better part of a year to do what takes most decades lmao
@@bwood6337 yeah it kinda makes it feel sword art online-y with this crazy power progression. Feels like those Chinese wish fulfillment novels where the mc gains power as easy as pie because of freaking _cultivating_
@@bwood6337 thing is, it seems just as absurd and unrealistic to the gods, and that's why they're so fascinated with him. It's why Freya was willing to go as far as killing Ishtar to make sure she could continue watching his journey. How ridiculous this kid's progress is is part of the story, and it drives events.
Whats making this series so great are the moments where Bell grow. Not just because it well written but because there is superb soundtrack to elevate it to orgasm highs.
Actually there was one circumstance where Bell managed to use a full charged Argo vesta. It was in the sword oratoria light novels where he oneshots a dragon or something that was part of Nidhogg. I don't remember the specifics but Nidhogg was a dragon/monster almost on par with the beasts from the 3 great quest (leviathan, behemoth and the black dragon). For reference it took the teamwork of several powerful families from Freya, Ganesha, Loki and others to kill the 5 others. Ottar also managed to kill one by himself as well but it did take him a while.
instant cast of fire bolt is a huge boon as well. It basically makes him a top tier mage with a basic spell. His power is equal to the amount of breasts that follow him.
@@BhargavN10 Yes but the point the OP is making there is that, because Bell can effectively use concurrent chanting of high tier battle mages, even with the low raw power of Firebolt, Bell is far more dangerous just because he can keep fighting you, cast nigh instantly, and esp combined with Argonaut, it has enough power to be a serious threat to basically one.
Didn't even realise how short of a period it's been since he started, in just 4 months he's gone from level 1 in that run down church with hestia to tons of members in a mansion and became level 4 that's crazy
I'm so glad you covered Danmachi again, while I was watching the latest season in simulcast it wasn't the same thing without your "skipped content" videos, they really enhance the story for non-novel readers like me
I will occasionally rewatch your danmachi videos not because I need to remember or learn something from them but for entertainment and to boost them in the algorithm in hopes of ensuring that the show will be covered every time a new season starts
What i love about Bell progression is that even though the lad got stronger way quicker than anybody he is still a rookie in many areas which applied to an opponent with a great experience gap would put him in a beatdown. He's not an invincible being just a broken crazy strong boy who still has things to learn. That makes him really impressive and inspirational.
I wish this video was 15 min longer, I love your content about Danmachi, very detailed, easy to understand and makes me so excited for the next season of Danmachi
Novel spoilers: In Volume 17 of the Light novel bell is still a level 4 with: SS1033 Strength SSS1218 Endurance SS1041 Dexterity SS1089 Agility S 965 Magic Overall 5346 And the author confirmed that his stats will also increase 1 more time before leveling up to level 5
While Bell's stats are beyond impressive, what makes him really op is what he stands for and the length he goes to protect them. So far we saw him protect the weak and help them to grow as individuals, go up against other familias, go against his own kind to save another species and survive insane odds. The best part is the upcoming episodes which will just emphasize most of this to the extreme and i cant wait, which is why i read it.
Nah Its the stats that make him op. Can he really protect anybody if he is weak can he really inspire anybody without the strength to back it up. As much as you may disagree without power you cannot protect anybody let alone yourself.
@@RACOL07 he inspired someone to live and survive when they're both too weak and on the verge of dying to continue.I won't tell more details since it's a bit of a spoiler but it's his mentality and determination after all.
DUDE. What a fantastic video!!! I am wild about your breakdowns, especially DanMachi and Arifureta. This one was Roxy-tier, my dude. Keep doing awesome work, plz!
@@_curiousTina_ HiDive. Unfortunately for whatever reason, the creators pulled it out of Crunchyroll, but last I checked you can still watch season 2 and 3.
I'm in the process of rewatching the whole anime so far, currently done with season 3 ep 3, resume watching tomorrow, I can say that the anime is pretty good
After surviving from juggernaut and monster on 37th floor for 3 days, bell stats increase to 4.3k points and he should be able to level up to lv 5 (his stats already equal to lv 5 mid adventure)
Not really, see 2:26 it takes years for normies to level up, so for bell months. Alooot of stuff happens in the light novel and he’s still not even lvl5 in there yet but I think he’s almost ready by now at least. I think Ryu is ready to level up since she’s been retired for >5 years and still hits the dungeon but her goddess fled the city.
@@Mjdemon No. Hestia didn't level him up because that would draw to much attention. He could get to level 5 in less than a month. It's mentioned in vol 14 at the end or 15 at the beginning.
I’ve been waiting for this video, and it was worth it. Thank you for the great breakdown of how far Bell has come. Hoping to see a possible update if possible after season 4 is done.
Comparing the info of the anime to the LNs. The information gap that anime onlys have is incredibly huge. Imo danmachi could've been more popular if it had some details that'll help the audience understand
I think good scaling for current level 4 Bell is to put him on par with Bete or any other elite level 5. I don’t think current base Bell would be able to defeat a level 6 however IF he managed to get a 2+ minute charge on Argonaut then I think he’d be able to inflict serious wounds on an elite level 6 or possibly Ottar and Asterius. With a full 4 minute charge it’s likely his power will briefly match that of a level 8 for a couple seconds considering an extremely long charge could let him release a single attack that’s well beyond his level. If he somehow managed to hit Ottar or Asterius with a full 4 minute charge Argo Vesta it would likely be fatal to them but it’s almost certain they wouldn’t let him get the chance. Once Bell is level 5 and his stats all reach 250-350 range again I think it’s safe to say he’ll be on par or relatively close in strength to current level 6 Ais. Based off how others level up vs how Bell levels up, average people might increase levels once their stat average is around 550-650 where an elite will probably wait til they’re around 750-850 average. Bell has probably been 950+ average every level up so it only makes sense that the higher he levels eventually, the greater the gap will be between him and people of the same level. Example, an elite at level 4 would have a stat total of around 16,500 including their stats from previous levels whereas Bell is around 19,000 total at level 4 including his previous level stats. Level 6 elite will be around 25,000 total while Level 6 Bell would be around 28,500 total. Meaning in just 2 levels Bell will have already gained ANOTHER 1000 stat total advantage on top of the 2500 total advantage he had originally. Long story short low level (level 1-3) Bell scales maybe 0.6-0.9 levels higher than his active level, mid level (level 4-6) Bell scales 1.4-1.8 levels higher, high level (level 7 and higher) Bell will probably scale a full 2.5 levels higher
I highly suggest reading the LN if your an anime only, even if it's just up too where the anime is. The LN is so good and you get so much more info and tidbits
Let’s goooo!!! More danmachi content!!! Honestly Bell is one of my favorite protagonists and seeing high quality videos like this about him bring joy to my soul
Your voice and tone. Bro I've been watching this YT since the fate series, your explanation on Gilgamesh and other fate characters. Keep up the great work bro and about your voice, it's perfect and it's calm. Videos like these are quite informational.
Bell is only OP when compared to characters of the same level, but he's constantly facing adventurers and monsters that are way beyond his stats. Plus his conflicts can't all be solved with sheer numbers, he either needs to strategize around much lesser number, terrain disadvantages, enemy fortresses, or even other Familias in order to achieve his goals, all things that just being strong can't guarantee him victory.
@@Piromysl359 then you've not been watching the same show. He's grown from a snot nosed brat who bull rushes every problem and struggles to even talk to women into a party leader who considers his every option and takes the advice given to him. He pays attention to his surroundings and studies the dungeon more than most to keep himself and his party safe. He still has more to learn but the show's not over and he's only been adventuring for a few months.
@@Villain_in_Glasses Pretty sure he is still snot nosed brat who rushes every problem, which was perfectly displays in 4th season when he shoehorned himself into an affair, which should not comcern him at all, but due to convinient writing it never bites him in the ass. Exactly as he did in Red Light District arc. He is still incredibly dense, does not notice that almost every nearby female loves him and like typical Gary Stu character he is, he is always morally correct and everyone who disagrees with him is either wrong, evil or both. I honestly was expecting that people being murdered by Juggernaut all around him, will finally make him realise that some villains afe beyond redemption and will finally kill someone. Even that Jura guy was just asking to be killed off. But nan. That would mean character development, which is a big nono. It was only used to establish Juggernaut as a big threat, which White Kirito managed to defeat due to convinient writing. Also, fun fact: Getting stronger and more efficient in combat is NOT a character development.
@@Piromysl359 I didn't say getting stronger was character development, even though it can contribute. I said he became smarter, wiser and more sure of himself, which is literally character development. You only need to look at a few dialogue heavy scenes in season 1 and a few in season 3 to see a marked difference in his confidence and convictions. Hell, did you miss the entire Minotaur phobia subplot?
I really like the danmachi videos you make since you explain everything so well. Tbh I'd like you to make a series of videos covering the end of vol 15, vol 16, vol 17 and vol 18 when it comes out. I know it may be a lot to ask but I think that a lot of people would enjoy them. I would also be nice if you could make one abiu Sword Oratoria.
Thx for the video! I like how you explain the the total stats, abilities and even the story that's missed from some chapters. Your voice transmits so much tranquility, it's very pleasant to here it
The one v one fights of bell is just too good. And also now my confusion is cleared. I was wondering why bell could keep up with more powerful opponent then him. Specially the fight with the minotaurs where ais was struggling but bell was keeping up just fing..
The minotaur when bell fought him was in a horrible condition. One armed, coated in severe wounds, and already having lost most of the blood in his body. It’s a testament to Asterius’s resilience that he was even moving at all. It’s explicitly stated in the books that if He and bell fought when he was in prime condition like he did Ais, he would have crushed bell near-instantly. But even then asterius was so terrifying that even the Lvl 4’s nearby ran from him, but not bell

Well in vol 18 against Ottar in the war game he used the fully charged argo vesta. The blow was stronger than Ottar's full power. He admitted it himself.
This video made me want to watch Danmachi from start again and give another chance ngl I remember watching only the first season, and stopping there. I didn't hate it, but it didn't grasp me as much as this video did lol The guy basically plays New World and gains ability level as he does random stuff, I love it.
Concurrent charging is something bell created suiting for argonaut. Its similar to concurrent chanting when mages can move freely while casting magic spells. this is the same concept for bell able to charge argonaut while moving freely. This can make bell and other mages less vulnerable to incoming attacks.
i think you missed something in the level up recap you said in the first video on leveling, it's not just taking the previous level as a base, but also increasing them a bit (let's say 10% increase, cause a Level 2 with 0 in all stat is still stronger that a level 1 that have the same stats of the level 2 before leveling
i love his character progression and skill set, his weapon choice is a bit odd, a knife/dagger is really interesting for an MC. but i like that too. i just started watching the second cour of season 4 , I'm on the edge of my seat with the current battle!
I still say the season 1 fight with the minotaur was one of the best and most intense fights I've seen in anime. Thanks for the video, very informative. Can't wait for the start of season 4 part 2 as I'm kind of curious how he will get out of his current situation and what the cost will be.
