@@coreythomas3633 The episode Brain Buster of Justice League Action heavily implies that Mr. Terrific is the one who wrote that list so that an egomaniac like Lex wouldn't feel the need to compete against him, Batman would be smartest hero, and Mr. Terrific could just fly under the radar so to speak and still get things done. So he listed himself as third smartest because he doesn't need the hassle.

In the Justice League Action cartoon he wins a battle of intelligence against Batman and Lex Luthor and the villain asks him how he won when he's only the third smartest man and Mr. Terrific answers "Who do you think funded/made that list?" implying that he secretly funded the 10 smartest man in the world's list to fool ppl so they would underestimate him giving him an advantage.

There was a 1967 TV series called Mr. Terrific, totally unrelated character. Was part of the "high camp" superhero fad inspired by the Adam West Batman Tv series, what I remember about it was a apparently mild mannered wimpy look man who was given a special formular that only worked on him and went on mission for the U.S. government.

Most slept on character in DC every bit equal to Batman, and more. His best quote on intelligence, "When you lap the field in a race, for a while you look like you're behind. So it seems to people from the outside you're in, let's say, this place. When in fact you're just biding your time until you lap them again." He is really just as smart as Lex and Batman if not more.

I would say he’s as smart Batman and smarter than Lex. But remember, Batman chooses to limit himself due to his morals. As we know from Dark Knights Metal and Death Metal, The Batman who Laughs, who’s Batman’s true Dark counterpart. If Batman truly let’s go, he can put the Omniverse at the edge of Extinction. Plus as of recently in Flashpoint Beyond, Bruce stole the power Dr. Manhattan who can topple Mr. Mxypltik. I’ll never underestimate Mr. Terrific, but it’s not wise to sleep on Batman, there’s a reason why Alpheus the World Forger holds him in high regard.

@@porobotboyxxx I'm Batman fan, but I became a Mister Terrific fan later and realized how under utilized he is. His natural aptitude at excelling at anything is really a super power in itself. Those situations you talk about you could easily replace Batman for Mr. Terrific. Imagine if we saw the counterpart to Mr. Terrific's version of the Batman who laughs. I think pretty much you would get the same results.

Plus Alpheus can travel through dimensions, if he wanted too he could have gone to Mr. Terrific, but instead he addressed Batman. Which means, Batman’s hiding more IQ than he’s letting on.

It dosen't matter how interesting or powerful Mr Terrific (or most black characters) are today, they'll always be second rate in modern entertainment because people who write about them only know of 'the struggle' trope. It's a meme that has to be either abanonded or accepted for it's time cause until then every black character will always have some sort of root with 'the struggle', they can never be their own character like an average anime, comic, movie or tv character.
