He is great but it takes two hands to clap. Wuji had two great skills by this time, but especially Nine Yang Solar skill which allows him to pick up new skills at unbelievable rate.
Problem with these kind of dumb plot lines is that they rely on the hero to be chivalrous, no matter how many people die. But in this story, the hero is plain dumb as a door know....and lucky.
