Extra info if someone is interested to read - Tata motors out of thin air didnt develop the nexon ev. Tata motors showcased a full electric version of Indica vista in 2011 itself in the Geneva motor show which was based on the famous X1 platform. There are diffetent iterations of X1, basically do X1, modified X1 and all. The platform was versatile. This is the reason why you see X in the trim level of Tata cars like XE, XM, XT where X denotes platform.Thiugh Altroz and Punch werent based on X1 platform, for commanility the model names were retained. Tata motors in 2007 (i guess) established an European technical center based out of Warwick University UK which is known as TMETC - Tata Motors European Technical Center where the EV technology was being silently developed right from 2007. Tata motors then chairman, Mr Ravi kant said we have the tech but the market wasnt ready and we will bring the products when the time is right. Tata even showcased Bolt EV in UK in 2015. Perfect planning with deeper insight into the future helped Tata to become the power house it is today.

@amrit_raj_dubey

Actually in my opinion it’s helpful but not that much as you mentioned bcz they have acquired JLR in 2008 but things have changed from them after 2017/18 . They have worked over there issues from the very first principle’s in last few yrs so grown so much. Btw just love the new looks of Tata car’s
@anantraj706
@anantraj706 2 года назад
Technically the JLR platform is not the same that comes in Harrier its more of a marketing gimmick. See Land Rover same platform uses aluminium while Tata uses steel. Both the metals vary a lot in strength and their weight which changes a lot of parameters. And JLR has nothing to do for Tata's success. It's Tata's own consistent effort and work that gave them success. P.s.- Jaguar and LR are a big loss making company and have no future ready products as of now.

Before Nexon EV were build and launched, TATA build a small fleet of INDICA EV in UK and ran the concept for the unit on UK road and were able to test the vehicle. This helped transfer the knowledge to INDIA and find local suppliers and build Nexon EV. and the Platform provides with flexibility of different wheelbase as well so you can make longer wheelbase and shorter wheelbase cars from the same platform. due to the limitation of this the 2 platform was created as there is limit to how much you can change without affecting the structural integrity and safety. Safety was one of the main targets for the platform. Many years have been put in developing the platform with a lot of future planning. Good summary though.

Other than money, we choose specific car due to the differentiation factor that the model carries. If what separates them no longer exists then there is no point in opting for one or the other. There exists a very thin line between cheap and affordable, and Tatas have failed miserably once in past in recognizing it (with its Nano).Tatas have to be very careful this time and have a balance of this strategy as well as communicate it properly to the market.

I'm sure Think School put in an extensive research before arriving at this, but this is one case where I have a different take on the scenario 1. Platform sharing: Nearly 2/3rd of the video talks about platform sharing and how it brought costs down. Yes it's something which was necessary and TATA should have adopted this earlier, but its not what gave them the edge over competition. The Japanese are the golden standard for platform sharing, and Maruti has been doing it for years! (funfact: The door latch and power window switch on 15 year old swift matches the recently launched teach loaded Ertiga/Brezza.) Same goes with Toyota - the king of platform sharing with Innova and Fortuner built on same platform! Tata was slow to pick it up. 2. More money Per car: It is a very interesting metric to pick, but is it really painting the right picture? Tata sold 45,200 cars in June 22, out of which 31% was driven by Nexon - a midsegment car. The per car profit is obviously gonna be higher as Maruti sells volumes in the entry level segment. If more money per car is gonna be the metric, Mercedes, BMW, Kia and almost all minor players will beat Maruti in this metric. 3. Focus on EV: This is something that I agree. TATA took the early mover advantage and established themselves as an EV brand. The trouble here is that Nexon EV is known for its unreliable battery range, to a point the government stepped in and removed subsidy. Is moving fast really sustainable then? What's my take? MARKET TRANISTION: The industry leader Maruti decided to strategically shift their focus to EV. They collaborated with Toyota and is working on Strong Hybrids and Electric powertrain R&D. They decided to completely focus on future and gave up on the current market - a transition stage. While others like TATA reworked on the FIAT-sourced 1.3L multijet diesel engine to make it BS6 compliant and use it on Nexon, Maruti gave up on Diesel Engine altogether. The impact of this can be seen in poor mid-segment sales. With a single 1.4L K series engine powering everything from Brezza, Ertiga, S-cross & Ciaz, the competitors took advantage and Maruti lost market share. Even the all new Brezza and Ertiga are facelifts of previous generations and not a major revamp. Nexon gained in C1 segment and Creta in C2. The Future? Unlike most established players, Maruti did not stay idle and milk on current technology, they're trying to leap frog straight to electric powertrains and skip this transition years. If they pull it off right, in the joint venture with Toyota, consumers will shift back to Maruti in a couple of years. TATA got their short term strategy right and they have a winner - The Nexon. But will it hold? We'll have to see.
@AbhishekMishra-sn8qm
@AbhishekMishra-sn8qm Год назад
Subsidy is rolled out to early adopters. Nexon range is good once people get used to it. Tata already have shown with curvv and Avinya what they are going to bring in future. From 25 onwards I can see tata motors capturing Indian automobile market as top player. Once the deal with Argentina for lithium finalised, they will make batteries also . They are already investing in chip market and utilising tech from jaguar land rover. The only negative for them is declining sales of Jags.

I was looking for a channel who does regular case studies in English for a long time but couldn't find one . There were some like Dr. Bindra but it was in Hindi and he shouts too much. Others were foreign channels so they didn't make case studies on the Indian content but then I came across this channel and it blew my mind . Everything's perfect down here . All the data is research based , the videos are upto the point and most importantly they are based on the current affairs and you even get the study material if you want to dwell deeper in the topic .

Your RnD skills... Video editing skills... The way you start... The way you make viewers more curious... The way you end... The background music... The clips... All together make it a gem. The only problem is, I want to share your videos with my father and other family members, but they don't know English. I have to tell them what you were sharing on videos but I cannot do that much effectively. Can you please make it in Hindi. There must be people like me due to this reason, they skip sharing the such a informative content. Appreciate your hard work, and keep making such a content. Love from Gujarat.

The Game changer for TATA has been NEXON. A robust vehicle which has not only been Tara's best seller, but has been one of the best seller car accross all segments! It was the first Indian car to receive 5 star GNCAP ratings and since then SAFETY and TATA became synonymous.

what u meant by "first car to receive 5 start GNAP" ? GNAP only tests indian and african cars..also its not a govt regulated agency .

The only reason we as a customer don't want to put money in Tata is the after sales service which is very poor. I had my own experience...we went to tata showroom to book 2 cars but the kind of experience we had while having interaction with the frontline people was very disgusting..that small thing changed our mind not to invest in Tata. I personally think Tata has really done R&D on their car's and they have really come up with superb car design...but what matters to the customer is the kind of interaction..the kind of after sales service offered by the showroom..and I think they fail in this section.

Strategy of TATA: 1.Marketed hard to link products with nationalism. 2. Spent crores for negative campaigns against rivals using youtube and other social media indirectly. 3. Its common now a days for businesses to link the things with emotions but tata did it insanely

Tata cars are only good in showroom. Their after sales and control on dealerships is poor. Their service partners lack training, lack spares supply which are often delayed and lack professionalism. I am an owner and this has been my experience after trying out several of tata authorised service partners

Tata should adopt Toyota's lean manufacturing and other techniques like 6 sigmas, kaizan for their manufacturing. Only this can make their cars reliable, long lasting. it also enable faster development while reducing overall expenditure.

Except Toyota's Just-In-Time inventory model has failed terribly. In 2022, covid lockdowns caused major disruptions to the supply chains. While companies like Tesla had huge inventory and in-house manufacturing, they were able to continue making thousands of vehicles, while Toyota closed its factories due to parts shortages and kept staring at its suppliers.
@yash_kambli
@yash_kambli 2 года назад
@@anantraj706 if they had used it effectively, such issues wouldn't appeared in first place. Tatas strategy clearly looking confusing, they sometimes plan something but launched something else, RnD and testing also taking more time than ideal. When product launched it often felt as a half baked product.

Now a days Platform sharing is used by almost all the auto manufacturers. Even MSI also uses the same strategy. The main difference in the current days is the sales have increased due to few things. - access to better tech from JLR - Design philosophy have improved a lot - due to the better build quality, sales have increased - aggressive pricing strategy
