As a psychologist, I often have teachers asking me: "What do I actually SAY that will help children who are being bullied??" As teachers, you are already the experts in supporting and relating to the struggles of youth! I'm here to remind you how amazing you are and how much power you have to greatly change the lives of students that are hurting.
In this video and the next three I will release shortly, I talk you through exactly what to say so that you feel confident in responding to students who are being picked on or bullied in a way that supports their mental health and empowers them. This video covers the first step: How to show empathy to students in a way that helps them feel SEEN.
If you found this helpful, please share it! The more teachers feel supported, the more we can collectively change the world!!

I was bullied my entire life love these videos I’m 39 but i am very successful now because I did not lose hope ❤I love these videos I was also called ugly at one point or other but did not let it affect me . I started working on myself just a tad bit now folks think I look good and I feel bullying must be reduced since it can’t ever be stopped completely unfortunately in this world bullying only made me stronger I feel one should not lose hope no matter what ❤

In my classes in elementary school, it was the teachers who wore the bullies. My third grade teacher had a personal vendetta against me and took everything personal. I think she had some sort of personality disorder. And I have complex post-traumatic stress disorder from her. My second grade teacher was eventually fired for tying autistic and ADHD kids to their desks. Back in the early to mid-90s, in that part of Ohio, it was technically still legal to beat a child at school If the parents were okay with it.

@@drhayleywatson1357 It's a fantastic one. Exactly as you say, I spent my school years in deep emotional distress because it felt like no one cared or loved me. Of course that wasn't true, but it felt that way. I'm thankful you're trying to make things better for kids and teachers everywhere.

@@peterlane1391 I'm so sorry you had to go through that!! It is such an unfortunate byproduct of the culture we live in that kids feel unseen and uncared for :( It is my mission to change that globally!!! Thanks so much for the support!

You’d make a great teacher, Hayley. If anyone picked on me when I was in school, I always had the teachers on my side.

Well most eill fail at the first hurdle. Imagine reporting the issue dispite fear of reparasial and then tje tracher just says "oh that didnt happen". Its traumatic. Its gaslighting. There is no empathy there. Im in my 30s and cant live in my hometown bevause they'll still target me. This trauma could have been prevented when I was 5. Dont tell me things are better now, thats a lie.

That’s not the case I’m a student and saw bullying and saw no teachers like I wanted to help the students were 7 feet or 6 feet I’m an introvert this will never happen this is federal government morals don’t do anything or be fired (my opinion)

I don't really like the 'I see what you're going through' for children who take things very literally it implies that you've seen this happen to this student before and not done anything about it. It brings up the question 'well if you saw them picking on me, why didn't you step in and stop it?'

She’s pretty! They’re jealous bc theyre insecure about themselves and choose to pick on someone different from them because the bullies themselves are ugly and miserable.
