Inaccurate, the teacher would’ve told the kid holding a book “in a real fire you wouldn’t have time to grab your book”

We once asked what would happen if the fire caught up to the last kid in line, and she flat out said, "well they better walk faster." She's amazing

my teacher once said, "if i hear anyone talking we will go back inside and keep doing it until we get it right. Do you really want that?" we would've died...

Remember, the fire cannot legally kill you if you’re in a single file line.

Kid: *screaming while burning alive* Teacher: No talking when there’s a fire

We had a fire drill once, and a friend of mine and me didn’t know where we were supposed to go. We ended going out the wrong way because it was the closest exit, but quickly figured out we were in the wrong spot. So we practically ran all the way across our school and caught up with our class before they had even left the building. It took that long for them to reach the exit we were supposed to go out of.

As someone who was affected by the Australian bushfire season first hand, I can confirm we did not follow the evacuation procedure that was put in place 🤣 instead, the whole school just booked it in the opposite direction of the oncoming inferno and we walked for miles until we were in safety

My primary school teacher be like: “just walk out calmly” My middle school teachers: “JUST FUCKING RUN OUTSIDE”

Teacher: for everyone who's still alive don't forget your assignment

“Jeremy?” “Present. The building isn’t anymore, though.”

Teacher: Get in line but in alphabetical order. The boy is name zach:💀

Teachers when a fire happens: "your flesh melting off your bones doesn't dismiss you, I do."

My language arts teacher literally just flat-out said: "We don't expect you guys to form an orderly line outside, we're just legally required to do this." I loved that teacher.

Teachers during a real fire: “Well, since you all weren’t in a single file line, guess we all have to go back to the classroom and do it again! It’s your fault you don’t know how to exit a building correctly” 💀

Teacher: *Hey! no coughing! We are starting over.* 4k likes??

I think our school did a great job with fire drills. First of all, they would actually explain to you why you are doing certain things, you also weren't stopped from taking possessions with you as long as they didn't take longer to take with you. They would explain not to run because schools are crowded places and we can be a danger to others, as well as that if everyone was running it would be hard to keep track of everyone. if someone is separated they are encouraged to call out. and we are supposed to be quiet so we can hear if anyone needs help, as well so we can hear for the fire, only the lowest grades have to go in an ordered line, so they don't scramble around trying to get in line, and it gets less strict and faster the higher grade you are. as in the higher grades you are trusted to follow the teacher and make sure you leave room in the hallway for others to pass. The older grades also don't get a warning for when the fire dill would be happening later in the year, all they are told is that the fire drill will be happening "this week" and if you are without teachers like in the bathroom or at study hall, you have to get out yourself, in fact sometimes they leave before the fire drill and you have to get out yourself, yes we do stand on the grass behind the road, because that's where the fire department would come in but we are a great distance from the school. The best part was that sometimes the staff would block doors and hallways to act as if there was fire blocking the way, so we would be forced to find a different way out. they felt a lot more realistic and the elementary is the closest to the entrance so being slow wouldn't be that much of a problem. The intruder drills were very cool too. Where someone (usually the teacher) has to lock the door you have to cover the windows(if you can) turn off the lights hide and be quiet, and the principal would walk room to room and knock and violently try to turn the doorknob. And if you make too much noise or are seen through the window heel unlock it and come in/(break in). Then nothing happens you just get told to do better or something, My class never failed. In the higher grades sometimes the teacher also leaves before the drill. It was a private K-12 school. So it wasn't funded by the government, so that may have something to do with it. But I felt like I actually learned things there and the teachers were great. I'm graduated and in college now, but I still think fondly of that school.

There was just a fire in my school, my class was walking downstairs and we thought it was a drill. Everyone was evacuating like a normal fire drill, and then there was smoke and the nurse was making everyone leave, and suddenly it was chaos. Teachers, don’t expect your students to behave like this during a real fire 💀

You forgot that the teacher will correct everyone like "Jeremy you go behind Aaron, Aaron you go behind Josh" which takes 10 minutes, then they need to be perfectly silent

I remember fire drills on my highschool and how they not only expected this from us, but they also had a specific order in which the different classrooms had to get out of the building and we had to wait for them to go down the stairs to get out ourselves. Never mind were the fire is, every class has to wait their turn to get out of the flamming building They also forbade us from taking *anything* with us, not even a jacket, saying that in an actual emergency we can't waist time taking our stuff. But we still had to wait for our turn to get out which gave time to get at least something while we were literally just standing there next to the door I once got scolded at by our teacher for putting on my coat cause it was Winter and I didn't want to catch a freaking cold. So next year, when they anounced us in advance that sometime during the week there'd be a fire drill (it was also Winter) I simply stayed with my coat on at all times in case the fire alamr went off and we had to go outside. It wasn't great being on the inside wearing a coat with the heating on, but it was all worth it for the satisfaction I felt when already outside a teacher asked me why I put my coat on and I told her that I already had it on before the alarm went off, the silence that followed, and then a simple "Oh". Glorious

my I&S teacher once said, “If someone comes in here, you are about to see Mr. -- commit murder. With a golf club.” I miss him.

This is painfully relatable, but at my school there are a few differences: - There is never a real fire, and we all walk slowly for no reason with no sense of danger. - There's a very annoying alarm that blares nonstop, even after everyone has evacuated. - You have to stand in singlefile lines and stare foreward without making a sound. - We do not feel congratulated if we do it right.

i love how the students have different shirts and hair, but they have the exact same shoes and pants

This is inarccurate. The teacher would never let that kid bring his books.

Now that I'm older, the teachers just want everyone to leave quickly, no line.

After they get out: “Alright so we finally escaped” “Uh teacher, we lost some kids” “Well maybe they should have stayed in the single file line”

Teacher : Stop talking! Class : (Doesn’t stop) Teacher : We’re gonna have to go back in and try it again 💀

There's one teacher I have that does this exactly excluding the clapping, and yells at anyone who does it differently, including me who brought my bag (because I have expensive things) So when I am in that class, I won't take off my bag, so that way it takes longer to leave it than to take it. (Fire drill not real fire, but she said this is exactly what we are doing during a real fire. I hope a fire doesn't happen during that class)

They dont let yall run they let us run i always laugh in a fire drill

I covered my ears when the alarm went off and everyone thought I was being a baby when really I'm sensitive to loud sounds

Im the complete opposite, they force us to run as fast as the flash then stand outside in extreme heat for about 30 minutes then they say “oh! we were just fixing the fire alarm. Sorry!”
