How Terraria Trolled Hackers

It was always so much fun when in a big servers someone with a hacked client or inventory spawned one and people will continue to pass around the red potion until someone unaware of the effects is fooled into drinking it. Good times.

I assume Soul Scythe was removed for copyright reasons (terraria had 2 different weapons that were both forms of a Soul Eater character)

I remember browsing the terraria wiki years ago and seeing the "soul scythe", aka just Soul's 'witch hunter' form, and pogging out of my mind bc i was so obsessed with Soul Eater lmao

I like how the potion tooltip "Only for those who are worthy" was remembered when creating the For the Worthy Seed

Damn, the loop was almost perfect..

Idk how many people knew this, but on the legacy versions of Terraria, there was an item called, "Reds wings," which I assume we're illegal as the description was, "you shouldn't have these," but those wings would allow for infinite flight. They were really handy for crossing the map as they had the fast up speed, and could fly horizontal, just as fast as the hoverboard. Me and my friends duplicated a bunch of them using the magic mirror dupe glitch, and we'd give them to players, but we started to notice that our games would corrupt and we'd lose our saves if we used the wings too long. I'm not sure if that was bad luck, or it was because the wings were actually glitched, but everyone I knew that used the wings had their files corrupt several times, including myself (we played the ps vita version) so I find it kinda scary, knowing that red does a lil trolling, I'm thinking, was this intentional? It also makes me feel bad for all the people we spread these cursed wings too as their games probably also corrupted. To this day however, I still have old legacy back up world's with reds wings in them

I've died maybe 20 times while playing terraria. I'd say 18 of those were Deadmans chests

the first reason why I played terraria was when I saw the Soul Scythe, I love watching soul eater and when I learned the scythe was unobtainable I was already hook with terraria so a win-win situation

I don’t know why, but I downloaded something that allowed me to wear pre-cosmetic dev armor. Wearing reds armor gave me air walking and noclipping, I could also drink reds potions.

I like how You become worthy of the Red Potion in the hardest seed currently but anywhere else... Yeah we know the drill.

Man I wish that was in the actual game I am a massive soul eater fan and it would have been such a neat reference

I find reds potion everywhere in the drunk world and I now know that they spawn there on purpose to troll you

I remember finding Red's armor and Red's potion like 8 years ago through an inventory editor, along with the SDMG back when it wasnt in the core game, thought it was so cool

why was i expecting you to say "terraria isn't terraria with out a little bit of terraria"

I used to get dev items on mobile that have never been released and the description for most of those times would say “you shouldn’t have this” which is really cool for the devs to add

Glad to see Soul scythe in his Kishin hunter form as an actual weapon in terraria, even if it wasn't meant to be used

Red's gotta be one of my favorite game devs

I wish we would have really gotten the Demon Hunter form, Soul Eater ks my favourite Anime, and only one refenrence in Terraria isn't enough, the scythe would really have been cool!

You could also research the potion and troll people by putting it in normally spawned chests

I wish there was like a update where there’s a certain way to make the nymph in the post girl form turn into like an actual NPC with cool mechanics like bringing You to a different dimension or giving You tasks & awarding You or something it kinda feels weird to just have a NYMPH disguise herself as a “Lost Girl”, I mean sure it’s a little troll but they can make it to where its not an actual troll but something epically cool

fun fact: the reason reds potion doesn't kill you in the for the worthy seed is the description "only for those who are worthy" so if you are in the seed, you are worthy

Well in all fairness, Soul Scythe was also a Soul Eater reference that they prolly weren't allowed to use, no matter its power, hence why it was never really implemented and eventually was removed for good. But for some reason I was pretty sure that Soul Scythe was replaced with Angel Statue once they removed it from the game, with Red Potion added much later... (I might be wrong here and there, so please don't quote me on that)

Who else remembers the lost girl trolls. It’s basically where a nymph pretends to be a lost girl and curls up in a ball hiding her face so she look sad and lost looking like she has lost all hope and has given up, she is found in caves, and when you hover over her it says *lost girl* but if you get to close she lunges at you at high speeds doing a good amount of dmg. I’m pretty sure you get an achievement for finding her
