I'm from Chiang Mai The fog here is so thick that the mountains cannot be seen. Many people have allergies (me too). Some even have red eyes. If it's not necessary, you shouldn't leave the house at all. My air purifier at home, the dust count has gone up to 120. I hope the pollution will disappear soon.😢

I tried retiring there. I would not wish that on my worst enemy. Chocking to death months on end. Horrible place to live. I left, never to return.

The government should immediately cut down some pollution emitting sources, with minimum economic burden to the people.

Brain tumours, heart diseases and lung problems.

Had I known how bad the pollution was I wouldn't have gone. I had been there 9 years before, the change in the air quality is shocking.

Very sad. Dang it, I am waiting for my passport and this town was exactly where I wanted to live (Chaing Mai) and leave America. Thank you so much for this information even though 😢. Will find another country now.
@212Roger
It is only for a couple of months: February-March. It never bothered me. I always stay in the Old City, which is the lowest level and thus the least harmful. A lot of people will use the burning season as the time to go south and hit the beaches. 🙏🏼
