I remember specifically how this song felt different. Didn’t know what it was at the time I was 15… it just had a dark edge to it in comparison to everything else. Who would’ve thought that this one song would have such an everlasting impact…
~So the Legendary Gangster-Rapper Schooly D started Gangsta-Rap?.... Something told Me Philly had something to do with this ...LOLOLOL..So Philly started Gangsta Rap...Wooow...i never knew that...this Today news to Me...lolol...i think I heard it before, but I'm recognizing it today...lolol..So after all this time I thought Chicago or California and the West Coast started Gangsta-Rap, because those areas are notoriously known for having Organized Gang's...I heard Gang's were birthed in Chicago...I don't know if it's true...but what I do know is that the origins of the Gangs, as most of us know, had Civil-Right-intentions for Blacks in the Hood and the Slums of the United States......... Interesting....1LOVE
Du nk The Funk made the 15s hit back in the day! They did re-release this album. They added A Bitch is a Bitch. Dre & Cube made the movie. It focused on them mostly. D.O.C was a better Lyricist than all of them. Didn't Cuss on his album (he did on Grand Finally I think) and still came off hard core. Peace
This is a great video but "The Defence of Fort McHenry" set to the melody of "Anacreon in Heaven" was THE first gangster record AND the first remix. Know your History.
Rap music doesn't do that stuff. The hood life exists because the white people in power oppress black folk and wealth create disproportionate distribution of wealth that keep black people in the ghetto and make it nigh impossible to make honest livings
I'm sorry but this is bad revisionist history. Too Short has been underground since 1983. Then you had the Too Live Crew and New Orleans rappers like Bustdown all around 1983 and 1984.
These hip-hop experts are like a construction worker that does not know how to use a hammer! SMH The first gangster rapper was clearly Schooly D this is common knowledge amongst REAL hip-hop fans
Let me school you lil homie, cuz Ice T said if you listen to the pattern of Schoolly D - PSK (1985), that influence him to write 6NDaMorning, then IceCube wrote BoyzNDaHood after both those tracks. Go listen
here where many artist around !!! that do the same !! too short and freddy B(enz) , calvin t and magic mike , 2 live crew , melle mel , ice t , evry kat is a pionier on his own lane !!
b side the pimpin and comedy god fahters of rap !! rudy ray moore , richard pryor . red fox and the hole laff records stuff , and kent !! all pioniers off the black media movment , they all togheter bring rap too light !!
Iced T lived in New Jersey before he lived in California and he heard the record when he lived on the East Coast still not when he lived in California. You need to tell better facts in your videos. Plus the song came out in 1985 not 1986
