As a sixers fan you dont understand how amazing it feels to have a competent coach in the Embiid era for the first time

I love nick nurse for planting people in the paint for rebounds on both ends. Under doc, they would float three pointers with the rest of the team staring at it beyond the arc. It was absolutely maddening. We have big guys. Get the damn ball rebounding.

Watching a NURSE run offense after years of Doc has shown me just how bad a coach can affect a team. I was so sick of his bullshit, his iso heavy , stand still offense, never playing anyone outside his 7 favorite players. It would infuriate me, it always felt like the sixers were playing with fewer minutes than every other team in the league.

Tobias contract had people thinking he wasn’t a fringe all star type guy

Really simple concepts, just fundamental basketball, move the ball and objectively look for advantages and ways to score all the time. Good stuff, i reckon once they get used to the offense Nurse will deepen a little more in terms of complexity

Would love to see the sixers grab a shooter like Hield or/and Bojan Bogdon for spacing; this addition won’t take the ball out of maxeys hands and gives embiid spacing; especially while Oubre & Batum is still out.

NBA is learning to get rid of the Simmons and the Hardens and teams can actually win. Huge win for the fans.

Thing is. Nick Nurse doesn't need to do so much now that he has embiid. He made the offense simple yet amazingly effective. What a beauty!

Nor that I am here to be a Doc defender but this offense was what Doc was running prior to the Harden trade. He did it with Ben the first year and again when Maxey had to take over the following year. We also saw it when everyone went down at the start of last season. Not having a ball dominate player like Harden opens up so much. The ball should have never been taken from Maxey. Harden should have been made to play off-ball. That is what Doc wanted from him but of course the breaded baby wouldn't adapt so now he in LA looking like a fool. With all that said, I do love what I am seeing from Nurse on both sides of the ball. I definitely feel as though we need to make a trade to get us over the top and believe Pascal should be the piece. I would hate to trade Harris based upon how he is playing now but someone has to be the sacrificial lamb. Maxey, Pascal, Joel and the depth pieces would be nice.

I think this is riding a bit of the shock factor right now. Teams have to rewrite game plans a bit and once they do sixers will prob be the third best team, although god the bucks look terrible. But I think you still need to play embiid off the court with uptempo. Which means you have to play good defense or else ur taking ball out of net and you won’t be able to push pace. You have to game plan maxey a lot more. And that will come. They haven’t really even forced adjustments from him yet. These two things will have a pretty dramatic impact I think.
