I took a trip to Ashville last Christmas and all my trucker friends warned me to beware the weather. Now I know why.

This video deserves way more views - as someone who lives in northern VA (western area) CAD events definitely dictate a lot of our local weather, and constantly show up in the local WFO fcst discussions (I also work like 1 mile from Sterling NWS / LWX.) Keep up the good work, I follow a ton of weather channels but you’re well-spoken and natural in front of a camera, which makes everything way easier and more interesting to follow (no nonstop edits/cuts lol.)

As we joke around where I live in East Tennessee. "If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 mins. It will change." The weather here is wild af.

Here in south Florida I think we get some of the best winters but worst summers in the US. Winters are dry and rarely go below 40. During the day it's usually around a pleasant 60-75. In summer it's usually in the low 90s but it's so humid that I'd prefer if it was a 105 dry heat.

Very thankful that Nova Scotia is not a victim of cold air damming! It must be really tough to deal with!

Yeah, I recall January of - probably 1993, when Spartanburg SC (upstate, ~20mi from the Blue Ridge) basically didn't see the sun. Don't recall anything quite that obnoxious over around Columbia, halfway to the coast. Bet at least some of that was this effect. Summers were a little nicer, though.

A good start would be saying Appalachia right...

I was born at the foothills of those mountains in North Carolina and I cringe when northerners pronounce Appalachian as appellation.
@TwoBs
@TwoBs Год назад
Yea, lol. I’ve always heard it “Appa-latchian” growing up in the only state that is fully covered in its mountains. Anytime anyone has casually said “Appa-layshion” I can’t help but think why that is … why no one native to the mountain range can bother pronouncing it the way the people of Appalachia actually say it. It’s really bizarre. Edit: reminded me of my middle school WV History teacher back in the early 2000s who played a documentary in class and every time the voice-over said it “proper” my teacher would correct it out loud - that always stuck with me lol.
@ericbarlow6772
@ericbarlow6772 Год назад
@@TwoBs yeah you can usually tell who is from the area and who is from somewhere else by the pronunciation. I remember the Big Ten and Michigan mispronunciation of Appalachian State University. I bet they know how to pronounce it now.

East coast summers in mid Atlantic states are unbearable. Unless you are 5 miles or less from the coast you won't get any cooling from the ocean, even then its only a couple degrees. I think you meant to say you're a big fan of west coast summers.

I hear you. I lived in Fairfax, VA and worked in DC for 15 years. It’s much worse than Charlotte, NC (my native town) which is farther south. It’s about 250 miles or so from the coast so we aren’t as effected by the Atlantic Ocean as the mid Atlantic states.
