I grew up entitled to getting up at 3:30 am to help milk the cows, go to school, and return home to get the cows in at 3:30 pm and then milk the cows. Then we went to bed about 8:00 pm. I am a boomer and I found most people (younger and older) to lack boldness and think of the church as a sanctuary in which ministry was done in the church and not among the people outside of the church. When I started pastoring I took the people with me to do ministry. Too many think it is the pastor's job and they are exempt.
As a I have revitalized 2 churches already. Have taken them from 20-30 people to over 100. It is this generation that has given me the biggest problems. They want their kind of music, decorations, their choice of paint color, committee and vote on everything. Don't forget that uncontested divorce and abortion happened in that generation. That attitude has been passed down to the Gen Z who are very similar to the Boomers.
