Yeah it’s not like we brought technology and designs and skills to build the infrastructure India still uses to this day, all your industries, agriculture accelerated post colonialism, after the east India company was dissolved your country got all the worlds textile industry which became Tata steel, and before you say Indians were in poverty, so were the some British, work houses and mines put kids to work and many died, George Orwell wrote of Wigan Pier

It’s obviously oversimplified but a lot of what she says is true. England purposely “sucked everything out of India” because that’s what they did to every country they conquered. Maybe they weren’t as brutal as the French or Spanish but that doesn’t excuse what they did nor is it a mitigating factor.
