On Episode 3 of the Road to Spectacular: Home for the Holidays, follow the Rockettes through tech rehearsals and get a glimpse into the behind the scenes work that is just as choreographed as the performance itself.
Hold onto Eric the elevator man. People like him who know the aged system like the back of their hand don’t come around often. That man has seen 37 generations of rockettes. Wow.
@The Rockettes : Could you also please make a video about the male dancers / Rockettes who support and assist the female dancers during the show? Give them a moment in the spotlight on your channel? I'd like to learn more about them as well. Thanks 😊 👍
I worked at a theatre with a rotating stage that split into quadrants. Tech week was seriously tough, often starting at 6:30pm and going until 2am! But once it was opening night, it magically all comes together!
“Vators”? What kind of ignorant, theater automation nubes work at this place? No one says elevators in technical theatre, they are stage lifts or “lifts”. This is not only a standard of Cirque du Soleil and broadway, but west end and all other professional theatres with any complex stage automation. Not only does it make zero sense for a stage manager to call a 4 syllable word over a 1 syllable word, a, elevator is a completely different device, found in public buildings. Meanwhile, if it weren’t for an over powerful local 1 union, the Eric would be shining shoes and the archaic contour console would simply plug into Tait Navigator like the rest of the winches. For shame.
