So everybody knows the Cartoon of adaptation of Dr Seuss book How the grinch Stole Christmas, we finally take a look at the 2000 Live Action version with The iconic Jim Carey playing the Grinch! This is How The Grinch Stole Christmas 🎄 In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children's tale by Dr. Seuss, the reclusive green Grinch (Jim Carrey) decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. However, the bitter grump finds a hitch in his plans when he encounters the endearing Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen). Just as much as you all love it WE LOVE IT! Jim Carey is awesome when in character of the grinch just another one of his great performances!

Fun fact : In the original movie script, Jim Carrey wasn't supposed to pull the table cloth of the table perfectly. That was just all just Jim Carrey so to make up for that he improvised the messing up of the table and items on top of it in a Grinch-like manner. Pretty amazing that he did that...Jim Carrey is one of the king's of improv.

He also ad-libbed the "kids these days" line and looked into the camera, and he also impersonated the movie's director Ron Howard with the cap and the way he directed Max XD Oh yeah, he's definitely the king of improv =)

On the first day of shooting, Jim Carrey actually got so claustrophobic from wearing the Grinch makeup and costume that he nearly quit the movie. The filmmakers then fixed the problem by hiring a CIA operative (Who trained other CIA operatives in torture resistance) to help Jim get used to the torturous conditions inside the costume.

Wasn’t just being in the makeup but also the actual application of it as well since it took around 4 hours to apply it.

The make-up artist later checked into a hospital for treatment due to the traumatic experience of applying the makeup to Jim as well as dealing with Jim who would disappear for hours and later pop back up high on drugs. They both went through hell for this film because of each other and with each other.

And I really love how they told and showed his back story on how he ended up hating Christmas and how he ended up as the Grinch all because how they treated him and teased him when he was in school and every time I watch that part I can't help but to tear up and feel very sad for him 💔 poor little Grinch 🥺😥. #Grinch

I love the way Jim Carrey sang the iconic song "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" while adding his own comedic elements to it like the hilarious sound effects. And his freak out when the sleigh takes off. "We're going to die!! We're going to die!! I'm going to throw up, and then I'm going to die!! Mommy, tell it to stop!!"also I really love how the actress who played Cindy Lou, Taylor Momsen went on to be the front woman and lead singer of a band called The Pretty Reckless. also, I can sympathize with the Grinch, having been a victim of bullying growing up. I know the feeling of not liking people because of it.

I enjoy this movie everytime I watch it I love Jim Carey in the role just over the top hilarious and I love Taylor Momson in the role Cindy Lou just sweet and adorable and I also loved the other cast too and I loved the story just a another one of the greatest Christmas Movies

I'm surprised that Whiite Gold knows everything about The Grinch and I love her reaction though. And I like your reaction too Fireworks, It's hilarious too. I think there's a detail about this that people tend to overlook. Max has to be one of the strongest dogs in fiction. To carry the sleigh up the to the actual top of the mountain, and even the grinch himself struggled to budge it, let alone lift it. Lol.

On one of the days of shooting the Director Ron Howard dressed up in the grinch costume for a full day to show his appreciation to Jim Carey for enduring the suit everyday. Jim thought they had hired someone else to shoot some scenes and was mad until he learned it was the Director. The scene where the grinch wears a ball cap directing Max was Jim making fun of Ron Howard’s directing and Ron liked it so much he kept it in. Also the scene where he rips the table cloth off then goes back to knock everything off was partly improvised. The stuff was supposed to fall off when he yanked the cloth but when it didn’t he went back and knocked it off.

The Grinch was never the antagonist, it was that fat mayor. Bullied the poor guy as a kid not because he was different, because he was jealous his crush was taking an interest in the green fellow. And all those times he was trying to woo her and failed cause her heart is only for the Grinch.

32:19 My problem with the Whos in this movie is that they all just very soulless and greedy and only care about material stuff (in the book and the original TV special with Boris Karloff, the whos are supposed to be the complete opposite of the grinch, they’re nice, joyful, good hearted, and already know the true meaning of Christmas) I get it that is the point in the movie of them being soulless I get it, but that kind of goes against the point of the book itself. The grinch shouldn't have to be the one who spells the message out for them, *he's the one who's supposed to learn the lesson.* The movie got it so backwards and you honestly side with the grinch in that scene after everything you saw in this film tell me you don't understand why he thinks christmas is so stupid, he's absolutely right.
