I think they can give one of the FA veteran CB's a one-two year deal and still draft a CB in round one. It gives him time acclimate without being tossed right into the deep end of the pool and since the Lions are contenders I think one of the vets looking to grab a ring would go for it. I say let Jackson walk, re-sign Glasgow to a two-year deal with a third-year option and use the money it will cost to keep Jackson on extending McNeil. He's the best DT on the team and his value is only going to go up if he has another good season. Gotta pay Sewell now or be prepared to tack on another seven-digits if they wait another season. As the cap goes up, so does the price at the premium spots, and OT has become one of those. I also think they can get a day one starter at guard in the second or third round of the draft. Glasgow and Jackson are both proof of that. Going the FA route for OL help is tricky because if a guy's good his team generally locks him up. The guys who are available are usually available for a reason, and this team has done too many reclamation deals with injured players. It's winning time, no more rolls of the dice on a guy who may end up out for the year early on.

I think we sign Kendall Fuller at cb, that’s a lock. I also think Holmes tries to sign a Danille Hunter, Chris Jones, Bryce Huff. Leonard Floyd or Andrew Van Ginkle will be signed if he can’t get a higher up FA at the right price.

Like TJ, I was initially excited about the cap going up, but then realized it was going up for all the teams. Even if they can't get one or two of the top level free agents, they need to get help on the defensive line and corner position. We need upgrades, not bodies.

The great part about that extra money is that the Lions can use that money to resign our players and may not have to front load all of those deals. I dont need a big splash player to feel better. Fuller, Clowney, Calais Campbell and Zeitler would be just fine with me. Just get bona fide legit good quality NFL players. One thing not mentioned is that that extra money could open up the chance of trading for a bloated contract player like Mack.
