Thanks doc LIS done in oct 2023 now Thanks god it was a horrible 8 months experience with fissure.I pray no one can have this type of problem.Thanks once again doctor chang for the motivation for all the people dealing with these problems.

Hello. I have some sypmtomes that worry me. I came accross Dr. Chung videos in youtube. I decided to have a consultation over the phone. A great the doctor to say the least. Profesional, Understanding, he listens very well to what the patient has to say. I found him geniune. I live far from where he is at, but hopefully one day I will make a trip so I can have consultation visit. Thank you Dr. Chung.

been watching for a few weeks and today just wanted to express appreciation for your work here. Especially the content on not being too hasty with surgery [LIS]. Have been having 'issues' for several weeks and thought I would need the LIS surgery. Came to realise a couple days ago it's the whole pelvic floor tensing up, not just the inner sphincter. thanks to you doc, I didnt pursue the wrong treatment. Still no solution re. the pelvic floor [the stretched and yoga poses people are recommending don't help] but at least I feel better knowing what is going on, and that I dont need surgery.

Dr. Chung I am a 41 year old female on my 9th day of recovery from a fissure surgery in the posterior midline which is the tailbone side of the anus. I was told that this is the most typical location of a fissure. Doctor said it looked like there was some evidence of attempted healing but unfortunately it formed tissue bridges that were unhealthy and this created a fistula tunnel. So he unroofed the tunnel and then stitched the edges down so that the tunnel won’t reform again. He said he left a bit of the sphincter muscle exposed for a brief period of time as my skin will eventually heal over this area appropriately. Also mentioned that there was narrowing in that area and he could tell that the skin was being pulled inward. He said he hopes by doing this that I will have an easier time relaxing my anal sphincter. He also injected Botox as well. In your professional opinion is Botox safe to inject in that area? I’m still having some bleeding when I go but I’m thankfully off all pain meds (was given Tramadol) and now I am taking Tylenol. I’m Hoping my story helps other people too! It does get better I promise. Now I just have to have the internal and external hemorrhoids shrink!

I had this surgery last year in August and just last month I developed a anal abscess it progressed very quickly and ended up bursting on the exterior and drained for a little over a week before it burst on the inside of my sphincter and pus drained out both exterior and interior I just had surgery last week to repair it and I hope this time things heal well

Hey doc... While appliying ointment in anal area i got injured like a tear.. because of dry ointment.. and this injury healed withing 4 days...but after a month i feel like a pile mass in my rectum...can u tell me this pile mass occured due to injury or this is a simply grade 1 pile mass..??

I have haemorrhoids and chronic fissure and I have been applying diltiazem which helps. The only problem is I have started getting boils around anus which I think is due to diltiazem. I'm in a dilemma now on what to do 😢 please suggest

Hey I need your help I had Chronic Anal Fissure after I checked with the doctor and without hesitation, he said: it needed surgery. He gives me also this : 1. paraffin oil 2. Hykomap 3. lidocaine Is there a way to heal without surgery Of course, I eat healthy food and have a warm bath to increase the process I want your answer, please.

I had the surgery about a year ago and the fissure pain is gone, but the only issue i have now is discharge still. I went to my surgeon and they prescribed 3 antibiotics ... hopefully that will work

Hey Dr Chung, great video. Been suffering from fissure for 3 months and I am using topical calcium channel blockers to treat it. Some days feels like everything is fine and other days feels like the first day i got the fissure, sharp pain. Do you think the treatment plan is working or should i consider other options like LIS?

Pelvic physical therapy was really the thing that help me. The creams help a little, but you have to get the sphincter to relax or the pain will never go away.

It takes time to heal and since you use your anus everyday it irritates and stretches the little gut re-damaging it. Be patient it can take a long time to heal and form New healed tissue. When mine flare up I use nifedipine up to 4 times a day with some hydrocortisone three times a day. Sometimes it takes a month to start to feel better. Also try and balance your diet to produce softer stools that require less pushing. Stool softeners can help

Just a guess but most folks are right handed so it stands to reason we use more muscle contraction from the right to propel those rock hard large stools out ergo placing more damage to right side

I had this done about 20 years ago during a hemorrhoidectomy. Strangely enough the fissure showed up years later. My sister that is after me in birth order had to have her anus opened up by the doctor sometime after birth. I recall my dad saying the doctor used his pinky finger for the procedure. This was 1953, so....
