I was a freshman at clemson that year. Had never really watched much football. My first game attending was the 3OT loss to miami, but with tommy bowden at the helm, there weren't any postseason implications. I remember sitting alone on the couch at my mom's house, watching the natty, and just being so amazed at how it ended that I was calling people and yelling "did you just see that?"

@@chaosfromtejas I had an opposite experience as I was rooting against everyone lol. Being a Sooner fan, I hated both teams. The main thing I remember about that game was how long it was. I watched the first half, went out for a couple hours, got back and still got to see the final few possessions.

I don’t remember the Vols playing USC in a championship game.

Ohio State was driving late and on 3rd down the refs didn’t call a blatant defensive hold that should’ve resulted in an automatic 1st down. Shouldn’t have even went to OT. Not to mention Gamble caught that pass on the no call defensive holding play anyway. 2 missed calls on the same play that if called correctly would’ve resulted in a 1st and Miami loses in regulation. @TRockNFL the only reason I say that specific game is because of how badly it felt like they were screwed out of it. The other losses, to me, were clean losses. But that clemson one... man... Idk if they would've beaten joey burrow but I would've loved to have seen it.

@@dvwtx455 I saw this documentary on the game where they had all the players from both sides, and all the Texas defense guys and USC offense were like “yeah we all wondered why Reggie was on the sideline”. Texas knew they could just go full tilt without worrying about Bush getting it on the edge. So many things had to go right in that game for either side, and that was one of those moments where one team slipped up, and that was all they needed.

Michigan just went undefeated in the regular season 2022-2023

Michigan and fsu have easier schedules. Neither team ,even with the 2013/2014 fsu and last year Michigan team , would even be able to compete in the sec. They may win a few games but they’ll never know the feeling of being undefeated

Boise State did it in 2008 and 2009 - nearly went back to back to back to back 50-3 losing by 5 total points in 4 years. Only had 3 games in 4 years that they did not lead by at least 20 points in 4 years. They dont get similar praise, because they constantly got absolutely shafted in the post season.... 5 undefeated seasons in 8 years making only 1 BCS bowl vs a P5 champ, really doesnt get more clear, that there was obvious corruption and bias against them in their era.

Actually Santana was on the team that started the 34 game streak and beat Florida in the Sugar Bowl the year before Miami won the national championship. The streak started after Miami lost to Washington in 2000 and Santana was on that team

That game was crazy because they had just lost in embarrassing fashion to Michigan and the narrative was how Stroud was scared of contact, wouldn’t scramble, and Ryan Day was a fraud (still think he is), and they came out firing, never seen stroud play like that in his entire collegiate career, Harrison was having a generational performance (though he was locked up before his injury starting in the second half. But after all of that, Ryan Day reverted back to his way and instead of attacking on the final drive when he reached field goal range he settled for a deep field goal attempt…

That definitely contributed but wouldn’t have mattered without all the other help clemson got from the refs. After the bs targeting call.. it was over for Ohio State.

Notre Dame grad, while in school I attended the 2013 national championship against Alabama. That was rough. Nice to visit Miami at least.
