I learned so much from this video. It was so engaging and enjoyable! Amazing work! And the fact that you researched, and scripted it all before going there so your narration can be in the Maldives is really respectable. Looking forward to your future content!

Very glad to hear. This video became a full-time weekend job. I have one from HK in the works. Shame we didn't find time to link up! My door is always open in Cambodia, we have some good Ultra races coming up!

I love the Maldives, thoroughly enjoyable. Scary future for these low-lying nations. I hope my grand-kids can one day visit.

This was awesome! I was hoping to see some footage from the floating city project, but it seems we'll have wait some more. Please visit again in 2024.

Thanks for tuning in Adam! It won't take too much convincing to get me back to the Maldives. 😉

Silly nonsense. Reviews of tide gauge data show sea-level rise is linear and very slow around 3mm per year. There is no correlation between sea level change and the change in concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Atolls in the Pacific nations of the Marshall Islands and Kiribati, as well as the Maldives archipelago in the Indian Ocean, have risen up to 8 percent in size (Ford and Kench, 2020). 89% of the globe’s islands and 100% of large islands have stable or growing coasts (Duvat, 2019). No island larger than 10ha decreased in size.

I have watched the first two minutes and that was enough. I am sick to death of hearing the same old claims. Yes the oceans will rise. That is what happens when you are coming to the end of an ice age and a glacial.. We know that in the last interglacial, the oceans were about 2 metres higher than they are today. Likewise, we know that the oceans were a great deal lower during the last glacial. Oceans rise and fall. If you have a look at the records kept by NOAA (actual historical data and not pie in the sky modelling) you can see that in some places the sea levels are rising and in other places they are falling. Where I grew up, on the Lane Cove River, in 1946 (77 years ago) the river has not changed. If you look at the measuring of sea levels at Fort Denison it appears it may have gone up 6mm over that period. That is not 3mm per year. That is 0.08mm per year. Also, that slight rise does not include, building intrusions into the harbour, silt filling up bays and displacing water (making it appear higher); the water displacement caused by many more boats on the harbour; and the claim that maybe Fort Denison has been sinking. As soon as the activists saw these results they went into fact/checking mode. They made the most stupid claims. Then I thought it maybe so in other parts of the world. Not so as they claim. Some parts are rising and other parts are falling. CDN does sea level checks all over the world based on NOAA data. I have included the one for Scandinavia ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IySkT_u6xPE.html. See for yourself and there are many more if you check on it. Then we had the predictions in 1988 that the Maldives would be underwater by the year 2018. Well its not and investors are not concerned. How many new hotels have been built on the Maldives since 2015? Not really sure. What I am certain of, is that this year there will be 8 new hotels. Why would these people invest money into a place which should have, according to climate scientists in 1988 been under water by five years ago? In my day, you needed to have few brains to get a PHD. Today, it appears that is not the case.

The solution to the climate change crisis: The government of Maldives should start exporting their excess water to Countries with water scarcity problem (e.g. Saharan countries like Egypt,Libya,Mali,Chad,Nigeria,Algeria,Morroco,Tunisia,Mauritania, etc.; Middle East countries like UAE,Saudi Arabia Israel,Yemen,Qatar,Oman, etc.; Russia bordering countries like Mongolia, Uzbekistan,Tajikistan,Azerbaijan, etc.; South American Countries like Peru and Chile, Neighbouring countries USA and Mexico; etc.).This would help Maldivian government to receive money from water distillation in foreign countries and solve the problem of islands sinking in ocean waters.

LOL.... it's sea water. also do you know how much it costs to desalinate and transport the water halfway across the world? I bet it would be cheaper to just condensate water vapor in the air.
