Typing this as I’m watching by the way, in case you mention it in the video 😂. Imo the main reason green is falling behind it’s because there’s a lot more pressure and more self awakeners making it hard for green to keep up. The main thing green had going is that it was able to ramp up quick before the opponent awakened, no longer the case
@@UniXTCG i think yellow is supposed yo counter green in the way that blue counters red. When green plays big card, keeping them rested or getting rid of them is a good way to win in the late game.
I think people are sleeping on the early game potential of green now… obviously it’s dependent on your matchup, but green always struggled with early game… we now have a 2c Gohan that is 20k and stands an energy which gives you an option to search or cantrip (0 combo sucks, sure but imo it’s a little better than the Trunks, at least in the mirror) and the 3c Goku being a 15k swing into a self ramp with the option to remove if necessary is just a LOT more consistent and oppressive than Destructive Strength imo (can’t tell you how many times I couldn’t pull DS by turn 3 despite running 4, so it’s a better option)
I think Green gained consistency and utility without gaining help in its weak areas. Like legit, the more I tried to mess with Gohan the more I realized. I can't ever use Goku to remove anything on curve. Giving the opp an energy in the first 5 turns is an insane L. Then when it comes to the new 2 drop Gohan or 17/18, sure early and mid game attackers is good. But you swing and you take a card out if my hand sure. I will not need them until later anyway. Green needed early removal that doesn't allow the opponent to go harder. That being said tho, Gohan is mad consistieny nowwww ❤️
Still feel like people are sleeping on the new Android 20 that let's you restand the Android 17 leader. I feel like it could give you mid range pressure but haven't gotten my cards in still to open up or test at all.
See the thing with A17 is not that it doesn't ramp, or that it can't add some early game pressure. It's that the first 4 turns of the game you are not playing cards that remove bodies. Green just doesn't really have it like that outside of Vegeta 4. So red just gets to go full Unga bunga without fear of any sort of pressure outside of: "I'll attack this with my leader.... oh, a 10k? Ok.... ramp, pass"
And that's the scary part. Green all around is stronger than it was in set 1, it's just that Red is now better at pressuring Green in the turns that it can't fight back, and that was already it's only weakness
@@UniXTCGclearly u don't really study decks saying android 17 is good but red is just better I disagree I spent hours on season 2 have 1 won last weekend with 17 beat 2 red gokus with great decks they hard tempo me which is fine with me people just don't know how to counter red is all...i have won 4 tournaments last season so i have the right to comment on this i agree red is a problem its how u control it is all.the fact u said lvl 7 gohan is bad is clearly mis informing people it cleans out tempos the best tempo counter in the game I wouldnt run it on most green because the lvl 7 gohan is only good for gohan leader
@BerserkZeroYT you've won like 4 locals last season? For Set 1, I played every color but mained Gohan. I did not say 7 cost is unplayable, but I am saying the more zero costs you play in your deck the harder it is to defend yourself and you should already be running your ramp cards and 8 drops so you have to be careful. I'd honestly say if you "destroy" TopKu as a Green deck, they aren't building or playing well. Because outside of Kami you have no interaction with them until 4 cost Vegeta which costs a card in hand to blow up a 2 drop. Then you have to have androids. But go off. If you're going to NC for the regional next weekend, I'd be glad to show you the results of my testing as many times as you'd like in games
@@UniXTCG bro 17 is the only green leader that does remove bodies while ramping. cell plays a card that costs 4 and rest modes an energy per turn, gohan's 3ku swings for 15 (which does nothing into red cards) and goes into energy, broly has no unique ramp cards. 17 plays a ramp 1 for 1 cost card that swings 20k per turn, which you can use to remove Hits, 3drop gohans, califulas etc. You can play multiples of that card a turn and have at least 3 energy open for whatever card you want to use to control the board. If you meant that 17's ramp doesnt remove bodies because gero's lab doesnt, thats exactly why 17's players dont run that card.
I said this once, and Ill say it again. Broly taking his own life is the stupidest thing ever. I tried so many play styles or strategies, gonna try offense play early on to reduce board so Broly can safely build energy. But who knows, need it to come out on digital before really experimenting with it
So we shifting from gohan? Talk about it 😂. Sad 😢 my boy becoming obselete in this shifting meta... Or maybe 🤔 thats a good thing. In before my"🎉 don't call it a comeback music starts playing.!!"
You still haven't explained why cell is strong into matchups other than red. Your whole argument is cell games arena into 8drop cell therefore win. That is a really shallow argument, since it hinges on people just letting you get away with that. You already explained why CGA is bad into red, but you didnt take into account that yellow and 17 players can just play 3 or more 20k-25ks in a turn, which really pressures cell since hes a 20k base. Blue can also just play zeno, removing your entire board and CGA, while also generating ridiculous value in the lategame with gotenks and pilaf loops. You also have to factor in how behind you'll be from playing CGA turn 4. Cell is also the only leader green leader that NEEDS to be awakened by the time your energy goes to 5, so your opponents can even play around that and force you not to charge the next turn. For this not to happen you'll need to play self awakeners, which can either be paragus (a 15k self awakener with no other effects in cell decks) or 4drop 18 (which clashes in curve with cell games arena).
I definitely have gone over it in other videos, but Cell is the only leader right now that has an uninteractible (outside of Zenoh) loop for 8 energy. The entire out for Green if you're not green is beating then down low and them finishing them off before or right as they hit their stride. Cell 8 is a monster because not only does it blow up 2 bodies, it also heals and potentially swings a 45k body into another battle card THEN it gains a life. It is the exact opposite tempo that you want to see against a Green deck. That being said, with the field card on board, Cell is the only deck that can drop 8 drop after 8 drop after 8 drop Cell to reverse momentum. As For awakening. That's not a factor. They either get a free energy..... or you let Green get to 8 energy or more with over 5 life. Which as a Green player you should know it's where we'd wanna be in any given situation
Also, Greens match up into all blue decks feels abysmal for blue. Like they can pull out wins but it is not easy. It's just doable. A Blue deck should not hit 6 before you hit 8 unless you giga-bricked. This usually leads to 1 to 2 8 drops coming down before Zenoh is able to drop. Usually you get your Cells down first against blue because once your field goes you likely won't have the space to play it again, but then once Brolys start showing up at that stage of the game a blue hand can only take so many 45k attacks
I still think Broly has the highest chances of finding any success in this current format tho, because it has the highest chances of staying alive the longest. 20k awakened stat with no way to hard remove 3 drop threats until 6 energy at the earliest is very rough
@@UniXTCG I still think you're looking at things a bit too much in a vacuum. You have to take into account that at turn 4, when you play arena, the opponent will start slaming you with 3-4 units per turn, and you will have to start using your hand to defend. Since you will keep all your cells thats 2-3 dead cards in your hand. Take 2 more for the cell jr.s you want to keep for when you play cell. By the time you play cell 8 youll either have almost no life or no hand. Since you wont be attacking with battle cards until cell 8 the opponent will have a big board and a big hand and 4 life. Removing 2 battle cards is basically nothing for yellow since, because of ginyu force package, you play like 4 20ks a turn, for 17 because of the 18 that tutors a 17 from drop and the 17/18 that you can play for 1 energy. Also that 1 life you get isnt that much when you dont have any hand to defend, and that 1 meteor you get per turn wont save you when the opponent swings at you with an army of 20-25ks. So even in the best case scenario where you're playing a cell turn after turn you still have no offensive pressure, since your opponent can take that 1 cell swing per per turn and be fine for 3 turns, which is all you get because by lategame yellow and green will start either clearing with broly or locking with frieza. When it comes to blue, yes, you will get to play cell before they zeno away arena, but it doesnt matter in the grand scheme at things. You will play cell, they will play xeno, youll play another cell, heal, then they build up their board and hand while either swinging at you with 35k leader (vegeta), or also healing every turn with (zamasu). At this point, your cell chain is broken, they outvalue you and win. They also dont care about losing their board to cell, 3gito is useless in the matchup lategame and gotenks is there for the 20k combo power on play. I can see it working vs trunks but not vegeta and zamasu or, god forbid, an unbricked goku black. This is also the matchup where the not swinging into cell strat really comes into play. They dont mind not drawing with attack, because of the 7 or less handsize restriction. If they delay cell 8 by even one turn, they can break the chain before the first cell 8, and then you're really dead. Now, when it comes to broly i think you're correct in both points you've made. Its reasonable to assume its the best green into red, because 25k+senzu hardcounters 25k spam, and it also hard loses to cell because brolys will never apply pressure midgame, and CGA will win lategame. When it comes to gohan, i think its weird you always compare him to 17 because both get the most exclusive support out of all green decks, and have completely different abilities, so i'd assume their playstyles would be very different.
@Phospholazuli so this is a good convo. Would love to continue this in discord. My testing is not just my own, so I don't necessarily wanna put out all my points in the comment section haha. But, I mean no offense when I say this. I just want to know how much you've been testing. My findings are not quite in a vacuum as much as they are from my personal testing. I'm always open to hear different opinions. But at the same time I'm very comfortable with my circle of players. We all go back to grinding DBS masters and all have tops at regionals or higher and that doesn't mean we're not capable of oversight, I just trust that with how many of us we have we're covering our bases. But again I'd love to have this convo in another place ^_^
