Born in 1999, in Breckenridge Minnesota, Cody grew up in a large family and was the 2nd of 8 children.
As he began high school, he was everything but a NFL caliber lineman. He played for Hankinson High in North Dakota and finished his high school career with 1,072 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. As a multi sport athlete he was named second team all state in basketball as a senior.
Cody committed to North Dakota State as a preferred walk-on in the TE position
After his true freshman season he moved from TE to the offensive line. By his senior year he went from 220 pounds to over 300.
After having a dominant college career he was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2nd round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
From the looks of it he has been learning and developing into a dominant offensive lineman playing right guard.
According to NFL.com his strengths are sustaining blocks on both the first and second level, and has great blitz recognition

That story is why I love sports. Names such as John Riggins, Walt Garrison, Steve Tasker, Mark Simeneau, all played at small high schools. Some were more highly recruited, but Garrison wasn’t recruited and a friend of a friend got him a try at Oklahoma State. Played 9 years in the NFL winning a Super Bowl. There’s something about those farm/ ranch kids!

I have seen more than my fair share of kids in high school where I'm puzzled how they have no offers. My senior year of high school we made it to the state semi-finals. But what stuck with me was the 5'10 running back we played in week 3 who EMBARRASED our defense for nearly 200 yards. I kept tabs on him all season. He never got an offer. And I'm like. If you did that against kids with D1 offers. How do you not get one of your own?

In this video how do you figure that a kid from a small town with those stats can get into the NFL what 6 feet 5 inches, 220 lbs what team wouldn't want a player like that I would if I was the coach. But me being a CHEF I look for desire to learn from a professional as I did going into the CULINARY FIELD and I knew it would be a long trip to see the light at the end of the tunnel was a great trip for me. As I watched TOM BRADY rise to the occasion and took 2 teams to the SUPER BOWL was even greater, but we will never see it again but NEVER SAY NEVER,as they say
