I have enjoyed all your videos, but this one has to be favorite!! I had something happen to me at a previous employment. I was seeking the validation in an older Latina, but there was absolutely no need for that! Hay, those parental wounds! Keep up the great work!

one of the weirdest things affecting me, is no longer the imposter syndrome because I've realized how hard I've worked and the years it took to be where I am in life. Now, I'm attacking something that feels deeper and I haven't seen a solution for this online. I'm Mexican American and in my early 30's with an MBA but have noticed a very toxic cycle of waiting until I hit rock bottom w things before shooting up. Like, I will see myself crashign in burning in area X of my life and I'll just keep on keeping on, until it gets critical, for example: my FICO score decreases, my bf wants to leave me, I am put on academic probation, I nearly reached 200 pounds, my debt ceiling is astronomically high, my workload is astronomical, etc...before going forward and building the routines that will pull me out of these issues. Btw, these are all real issues that I've tackled in my life until now. I wonder if it's me playing with my ego here, or testing boundaries of life somehow. Like I want that thrill to see how low I can go before going back up? like why can't I just be steady and be happy with that? why do I self-sabotage in this extreme way? FYI, as I do these things, i never made a conscious decision to "play' in this way, I just realize once I hit the crisis point. Then muster the motivation to work hard out of it.

I can relate and sometimes feel like hitting these critical points is what finally gets me to take action. Kind of like how procrastinators wait to the last minute. It gives a type of hurried motivation. I’m not sure of the why, only that after many many years of the same cycle I’m just beginning to turn the page and try and plan and be more constant in my life. I tend to think of it like a garden (I’m a plant person) so if I do a little weeding here, a little watering there, tending just a bit every day, I can keep from falling behind. Some days I’m really on top of it. Others not so much. This approach helps me kind of balance it all out so my life doesn’t feel as overwhelming. It’s a process 😅

This is the absolute first time I've watched a video that speaks to my exact experience. I've found it confusing and difficult to find answers because I'm a Caucasian who grew up in Mexico and moved back to Canada as an adult. I've gone down psychology rabbit holes looking for answers to the struggles I've had in the workplace and in my relationships. Of course I found many, many answers. But this. This video spoke to every single beat I've experienced over the course of my adult life and career. Thank you for creating this channel. I'm so glad I found it.

I am sorry to disagree, but in a work setting to cater every person how they receive feedback best is exhausting for supervisors and managers, It is our job to work in ourselves and be emotionally mature enough to take the feedback and make the most out of it. And before I get a rain of criticism, of course nobody should take abuse or mistreatment.

if you can’t recognize each person as an individual and coach them in the way that best helps them, you shouldn’t be a manager. it’s not for everyone, after all.
