I think Manhunter staying hidden during Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice makes sense, but he should have been there in ZSJL. Look at how the people viewed Superman in DoJ. Probably not a good idea to publicly reveal himself yet. Better saved for a more accepting world like in ZSJL

In defense of the Martian Manhunter thing, Snyder wanted it to be a Green Lantern, but was told no. I'm pretty sure that's what Batman's whole "It would at least make sense if you were some space superhero who couldn't make it in time!" line is referencing.

Steppenwolf broke the container holding the mother box, he easily could've destroyed the canon heating up the mother box and then busted out of the container. Basically, that wouldn't have worked.

I think that one weird green parademon that looked different from the others was actually Martian Manhunter spying on Darkseid's forces. he also appears in the Knightmare timeline. he lands atop the destroyed car, makes a noise, and that's when Batman and the guys come out of hiding

These are good points. Plus this Darkseid doesn't have the Anti Life Equation so it would've been easy for them to kill him without the risk of the Multiverse being destroyed, I think.

They didn't let him leave, his soldiers retrieved him. Also, technically Zeus could hit him again with another bolt but he went for the motherboxes since they would literally destroy the entire world. Add and some plot armour that exists in every movie in history and that's how he escaped. Btw, it was Artemis, it was nice to see her being op for once since they usually neglect her 😟

A good point, but if I remember correctly it ultimately doesn't matter. You can't really kill Darkseid for good, he will resurrect.

He probably didn’t forget. I imagine he had other issues he had to deal with afterwards. I imagine he wasn’t the leader yet and that his dad was still around. Information on which Earth had it was probably lost.

@@thribs I just think it would've been better if we got some confirmation about the reason Earth was left alone for so long in the movie itself, instaed of Snyder tweets (an example of an idea :the greek gods that fought in the war could've raise an invisibility force field on the planet. During the period Apokolopis tried to find the planet again, The field would be gone during the time they stopped searching, when Aries killed the other gods. which would not conflict with Jor-El finding Earth to send Superman). Unless there was a definitive justification, saying that him forgot a planet may as well be the reason. Also, even if there was a sequel with a explanantion that would not fix this problem in ZSJL, aka, the explanation helps the performance of the sequel by fixing the previous film failing that could hurt films coming after it.

Earth is part of multi-verseThe mother-boxes, revealed as changing machines, Darkseid used were left on that world upon his retreat and, without their master, went dormant for thousand years thus cutting the contact with Apokolis until they were awoken by Superman's dying scream. Diana practically summarized it and league figured out the functionality of these mother-boxes and the why they waited for so long. Real life, example, you lost your phone in a Sahara desert during the sandstorm, try to find it without GPS and see how long it would take. Additionally, Darkseid has to deal with several attempt of overthrowing him during these thousand years.

@@Tippotipo The main issue overall that I have with this part of the film is the lack of better elaboration in the prodduct itself. Superman death scream rather than the death itself awakening the boxes, fair enough, we can implythat enough; the reason of why Darkside didn't come earlier is the bigger problem. They should have elaborated better the main reason they lost the location of the only planet that won against Apokolopis forces (they have interestellar travel but don't have navigation charts or maps to keep track of things?). I've already seen many justifications: from the multiverse being to big (also, why they use "Multiverse" instead of just Universe? Multiverse imply multiple Earths, multiple Apokopolis, and yet we re never shown anything close to this- and the multiple time lines don't count, since they metion Multiverse outside that idea) to the records of being erased, and this of Darkside internal civil war. The ideas are fine, but never said as the reason in the film (which has over 4 hours of duration). These reasons only appear in coments online from RU-vid, Reddit, Twitter. etc. The sad thing is, they could've easily said in the movies during Desaad and Steppenwolf conversations of topics they already know or should know. By adding some changes the dialogue could be changed in a way that fixes lack of information and redudancy: For example: during the Dessad introduction have him say something like this after Steppenwolf plead to go home "You betrayed him! Your pathetic rebellion during the Great One (Darkside/ Uxas) weakning lead to several uprisings over all the Domain! Hundred of planets destroyeds, Universal expansion halted, records of it erased by fools trying to hide from His will!, Millennia wasted crushing foes inspired by your deeds after your banishment!" Then it can go back to the movie regular dialogue. In that paragraph is just justified that Earth was out of their sight since they had a internal dispute in their worlds that lead to their hindering of , combinied with the lost of data about the planet; until the motherboxes reawakening summoning the nearest Apokopolis force. I will admit that my writting is still heavy handed, but one more well refined version could have been added in the film by veterans that worked on it.
