I believe it will accomplish its aim in the future.Philippines and Vietnam probably could also be the powerhouses of SEA since they have more than 100 million population and their economy is also growing fast .But I could confirm they are lack of influence in the region compare Indonesia even if the future.

I'm surprised PLDT was a former US company, now it is one of sh*ttiest network ever from it's signals and internet coverage so slow to very expensive plans, ever since it is being handled locally, I think it would be better off be handled back by the US.
lol..when corruptions is part of the equation as that is the way Philippines do business. Quality goes down. Look at all the tangle wires if you look up in the streets of Manila and the countrys major cities - Spaghetti wires everywhere.
Monopoly is what PLDT do, why because they make a lot of money in txt messaging, main reason they do not want to improve internet speed. Other form of communication will kill the GOOSE that LAY GOLDEN EGGS for them.
It is my sincere prayer that the Philippines will succeed beyond their greatest dreams and still remain the beautiful and loving people that they truly are. The wonderful people of the Philippines have changed my life for the better, forever.❤❤❤
What the fuck do we get in return? Why don’t you look at all the problems from within, ask yourself “Why can’t we do things ourselves? Why do we have to rely on other counties in 2024?” Tell your people to stop having kids!!!!
But then Philippines won't grow faster why? Because Philippines relying to much on foreign investment wouldn't benefit much for the Philippines economy it will only benefit those foreign companies itself because those companies earn more money or profits selling there product while all the Philippines could do is really just hope the countries economy would grow but in truth in order for a country to have a fast growing economy is if the government and it's people find ways to develop it why are countries like china russia US India Japan Germany France and UK became rich or powerful countries is becuase they have their own ways in developing their country with only little amount of foreign investment people in those countries work for themselves some successful people say you can't get rich by simply working for someone cuase then you're only working to make that person rich not yourself as your more like a slave to them to the point that all this foreign companies hire and provide minim wage jobs for everyone in the Philippines it's better if Philippines find ways to develop itself

Do you know that many influential Philippine media and civil organizations that are always against the Philippine governance, irregardless of who is the sitting Philippine president, were already exposed after the FOI Act as recipients of periodic huge funding from the US government? I have been a strong US supporter for a long time and but I should be honest to accept the fact that it is not good for US interests in Asia Pacific if the Philippines will become a very stable country or a very progressive country. The Philippines has a strategic location and it is best for US interests in Asia Pacific region if the Philippines will always remain a bit unstable and not a very progressive country so that it will always be under the influence or dictate of the US government.
It makes sense. History dictated that the US colonisation of the Philippines was meant to the former's interest of economic and political connection to Japan and China. It was not meant to make the Philippines a progressive country but only to make as military base to protect their trade with China and Japan!
Finally someone speaking the truth..not all filipinos are stupid...they dont see us as allies...but a pawn..filipino should wake up on this truth...stop admiring US....they are evil
But please don't judge the American people by the actions of our government kaibigan ko, all the governments of the world are evil but this American loves the Filipino people and so do many other Americans 🇺🇸💖🇵🇭

Knowing we're a proxy and doing something about it are two different things. Our government is always dancing around whoever's got the biggest pocket and the USA happens to be that country right now.
FYI, PH is the oldest ally of U.S. in Asia. The relationship of the two countries are nothing new. Also, fighting for our country has nothing to do with any foreign forces or being a proxy, it's simply called patriotism. PH is a war veteran country, we kicked out Spain, U.S. and Japan before, what makes you think China the thief will be any different. We are not as stupid as you think.
Filipinos are famous for their kindness and America needs this so much in our culture. Yes it's great that both of us will get wealthy from our friendship but there's also the benefit of cultural exchange.
Thats why senate and congress of the Philipoines doesnt have the nerve to present to the people their MOOE which came from filipino taxpayers because of copying every laws of the americans?
US is very important to my country the Philippines and I believe that the current administration should grab every opportunity that US brings. US companies have always been very helpful and are very good source of income (Jobs)
Similar to how the USA had been helping Ukraine and in return, Ukrainians are battling the Russians on behalf of the Americans. Filipinos are most grateful to America and had sworn to fight the Chinese to the last Filipino.
Did Japan, Taiwan, S.Korea went to war with China for the last 40 years?? Russia attacked Ukraine that is the difference. What is the reason Panama & Costa Rica abolished its military??
If the Filipino fighting to the last againts China supported by American with weapon the same situation in Ukraine there's possibility the American take over in Luzon to protect the international free navigation
God forbid kaibigan ko if the Philippines has to fight this United States Marine wants to be there oh God please in the name of Jesus God please in the name of Jesus save the Philippines 🇺🇸💖🇵🇭

"HAD the military bases" is the right phrase. The US DOESN'T have military base in the Philippines but they are given "ACCESS TO USE" the 10 military bases STILL OWNED by Philippine Armed Forces.
Are you BA knows really that US helping? or just leading the Phil. to be dependent for a very strategical reasons...oh come on you knows much the US goal ...
The US may have a goal but our government has a goal too, if US is technically using Philippines for their own purposes, know that our government is also taking advantage and is also laying conditions for our country's own benefit SO ITS ONLY MUTUAL. US needs us / We need US. Its a perfect mutual relation ship and this is NORMAL.
The Philippines has always been ally of the Philippines...? We became ally because we have no choice. US exploited that situation. If US wanted to help us build our economy why it is investing more in Vietnam a country with different political ideology?
One possible thing that could lift the Philippine economy is to explore and exploit its untapped huge deposit of oil and gas inside its Exclusive Economic Zone in the West Philippine Sea.
The USA should annex Philippines as unincorporated territory like Puerto Rico or a 51st US state like Hawaii cuz many Filipinos have a dream of having American passport and citizenship, studying and travelling in the USA, they can go to New York, San Francisco and other American cities without having to bring their passport at all

we know our history very well, all countries have self-interest including the Philippines. For the past 60 years, our self-interest has been with the USA. We are poor because of not USA, but because of our own corrupt politicians. We are greatful to the USA for all the help they have given us
Although USA has helped Philippines very much for many decades, this country is still not a developed nation and now it is surpassed by Vietnam recently. Why???
Because after WW2 Philippine independence, the US continued ROBBING the Philippines by EXPLOITATION of its NATURAL RESOURCES. The 1947-1974 PARITY RIGHTS given of every US citizen living in the Philippines means they OWNED 100% every corporation, every tree exported, every public services, every gram of gold and other metals exported, and every dollar they earned in the Philippines had repatriated back to US by 1970s! After the Free Trade Agreement expired in 1974, so did the Parity Rights too. But the US never had given another Free Trade Agreement with Philippines again until today, that's 50 years ago, unlike they gave to Japan in 1950s, to South Korea in 1960s, Singapore in 1970s, or to Vietnam in 1995 without "strings attached" and never robbed these countries, unlike they did to Philippines where the US only exploited the natural resources of the country!
Because the average Filipino has 15 children, ask for handouts. They are also so easily influenced, believe everything they see on Facebook….Also the educated Filipinos get tf out the country to work and live abroad leaving a brain drain. There’s so many flipping reasons why the PI is still backwards compared to neighbors
Philippines is a land where the US put its military bases in South East Asia. The people of the Philippines will one day find themselves fighting US wars.Mark my words!
How US helped ?🤣🤣 Just exactly like what they are doing to Ukraine now ! Wake Up ! Or flatten and pay for the reconstruction yourself. Don't worry. US will generously provide you big loan ! Ya. US helped built a big car industry in Philippines and Philippines became the world's biggest car exporter in the world, bigger than Japan ! 🤣🤣

Nowadays, no country is self reliant. We need each other. We expand together for economic growth. But we have to be careful who we do business with. China for example is one country that we should be careful with. Very glad that investors are now leaving China and transferring to countries like Vietnam.
They can't help themselves economically how can they help PH? USD 35 trl debt and is still growing with poor infrastructure spending and increasing homelessness and drug abuses, gun violence etc...I can only think about exploitation and financial harvesting than building PH economy.😭
Philippines have lots of smart people to be able to work but, opportunities are not there. Philippines governments need to concentrate on stopping corruption from town officials all the way to province officials. They need to put all corrupt officials in jail and ban them from politics forever.
Why the US loves the Philippines?? . . . . . Because of the strategic geographical position what else lol. if it were in a different location the US wouldn't care.
Filipino here, the sad thing is our government isn't doing enough. Unwelcoming constitution towards investors, the infrastructures aren't there yet. Result: Not enough jobs and Filipinos are dying to leave the country to work abroad. Not sure, but our country is cursed. Everyone seems so proud (Proud Filipino here and there) but there's nothing really to be proud of.
😂 That's impossible to happen because: 1. Each country has their own SOVEREIGNTY. Not my problem if you don't know the meaning of sovereignty. 2. It will require the people's vote or called referendum to do that.
Even if more investment is put into the Philippines, its is said that the profits go to the rich. Wages are horrible, and almost no pay raises. No benefits, long travel time to job. etc etc....The minimum wage increased around 35 to 50 pesos an hour, the minimum wage is around 450 pesos a day. That is around $8 an hour, with little to no benefits. You will grow the economy if u increase wages, so the people can buy products and afford rent. But greed and corruption is still too rampant
Pilipino culture is westernized that's why they prefer the Philippines and beside it's location is in the western pacific against china overlapping supremacy
This is pathetic. They're making money in the Philippines, that cannot be considered as helping. They're saving money by employing them, that cannot be considered as helping. China seems to have done more for them than US.
The truth is a one he is uncle Sam of the Philippines people at all is a family member we love it so hot hot 🔥 much always mabuhay ka uncle Sam go go go it's time the Chinese investor to remove or pushing back to china
That is impossible. Why does it not allow for Europe? Wait my girlfriend told me in Philippines has German chocolates and improvements with rail- and motorways made in Germany 🇩🇪 and they help to Philippines. I don't believe that you tell.
BBM should've negotiated the return of Filipino recruitment into the Navy or US armed forces as a whole in exchange for the 12 bases. The US has such a shortage right now in military recruits.
