ok, useful and logical -- but here is a contradiction: the 15 min and 5 min for the same asset at the same point produce completely different lines

yea, i noticed the same.... one was sky rocketing upwards, indicating a strong buy, whereas another setting was to a nose dive short indicating a strong short.... finally, the price movement didnt change much, varying no more than 0.5% in the next 4 hours...

In my experience it works best only if you compare the 1, 2, 3 and 4 hour charts with the similarity calculation in "Pearson". There are other indicators similar to this one that "predict the future" but the reality is that they are quite wrong most of the time and are not reliable as a strategy. On the other hand, if you already have a solid strategy then these types of indicators serve to better target entries and exits.

I don't have the paid version of TW so not sure how it works in back-testing. Awesome indicator to have it and thanks a bunch for sharing it with the community. Larry Willaims uses similar indicator and relies on it big time.

The scary thing about indicators that do not auto set (e.g. The Williams %R) to a chart timeframe is, a user can tweak them to show what they want to see versus what they need to see. If that makes sense. I have gotten in quite a bit of trouble for doing just that. I'd be curious if the indicator as a % or ratio based on chart time frames? What would be the most accurate settings for a 4 hour chart versus a day chart?

For me, it picks up some wild patterns that are not at similar. I've tested on 5m timeframe. Euclidean and Mean-Squared Error finds patterns that are somewhat similar but the others not so much.

How can you rely on it if it shows completely different price direction on different timeframe, different even on 30 min vs hourly and 4 h timeframe: gold 2 hour timeframe- sell, 4 hour timeframe- buy...Please explain??

avoid switching on multiple timeframe as it will only show similarities within that timeframe 😂 or better just pick which option appears more often on the different timeframes. 🤷🏻‍♂️
