considering Hala eventually becomes Guzma's mentor in the postgame, and Guzma is very much anti-status quo or tradition, I see this as a win for both of them

I just assumed it had something to do with how Hau was sort of the face of the "revolution" back when Sword and Shield came out and that game was absolute trash backed by unfulfilled promises. People were really keen on pointing out how some characters in SS used the exact same animations that Hau did. Hau against the games themselves, who else but grampa against the content slop surrounding it.

I was so confused when i sèn hala randomly appearing out of nowhere but this makes sense.

Thank you for this explanation that I've needed for the past couple weeks. Also it helps that since my teenage years I've found some male characters from the 3DS Era attractive and that only continued to now. Archie, Matt, Hala, Kukui, Raihan, Leon . . .
