Hey man love your videos! I am from Laredo TX been in the industry for 5+ years, rn I’m a broker but want to buy trucks and dispatch them myself my question is are you suppose to book the whole week in advance? Say for example I run Laredo Dallas lane so on Sunday I get the Monday Laredo to Dallas load and the Tuesday Dallas to Laredo load, can I do this for the whole week on Sunday?
@Gill22
@Gill22 Год назад
You could potentially, but the best way to secure the highest paying routes is book 1-3 days in advance instead of the whole week. Reason being, if your load on day 3-4 gets cancelled or your driver's truck breaks down, you might have to cancel the rest of the loads you had lined up and you risk losing the relationship you built with your brokers.

Not gonna waste my time watching the rest but I hope you mention all of Nikolas accomplishments, including last week unveiling of the Tre FCEV of which is soon to enter production next year. Also, Nikola is on Target to delivered over 300 Tre EV at the end of this year. So save to say that Trevor will be vindicated
@Gill22
@Gill22 Год назад
How can you not watch a video but have an opinion on it? I explicitly mention that Trevors actions negatively impacted the hardworking people at Nikola and several key executives have spoken out against him. This isn't a video on Nikola, it's a video on Trevor Milton and his fraudulent actions.

Saw the first Tre EV in the US last year as it made its roadtrip from Baltimore to Nikola HQ on the back of a flat deck trailer.

@@Gill22 remember without Trevor there is no Nikola. Not jobs, no executives, no factory. The only person who did screwed over everyone is that Snitch, (Paul Lackey)

do you think buying ev trucks will be the move as someone looking to get into the game? seems really good on paper

Ev is terrible. Humans should not allow it to become dominant in the slightest.

I think for now it’s only viable for local loads which is still a good deal! You’ll save a LOT on fuel costs and become incredibly profitable running local loads. But that’s just what i’m anticipating.

@@Gill22 Box Truck driver here! I feel like they'll need a range further than 200-300 miles for them to be viable even locally. Currently, you'd need to charge it every day if you like to keep busy. If you don't have a set up to park overnight and charge the thing, seems like a major hassle- esecially with the parking issues still getting worse. I'd imagine they're viable if you're based in a metropolitan area that isn't already being covered by heavy competition. I can't see them being great unless you have a radius of 75 miles or less. I have a daily dedicated where I go 75 miles out, and finish the route about 5 miles from where I leave my truck (total ~ 170mi). Couldn't imagine how I'd charge it everyday just to keep up with the miles of one route on top of other loads that may occur through the day. After renting the last half year, I decided to take a loan on a diesel truck due to the way rentals are right now (within 2 years renting, many box truck drivers spend enough that they could have actually bought their own new truck).

@@Gill22 🤓🤓🤓 I agree, with a full battery charge you only can drive from 4 to 6 hours Max. A driver only have a 15 hour work day. So let's do the quick math, it takes anywhere between 2 to 6 hours to get a charge on their batteries so let's do an average of 4 hours for a complete charge. And on a complete charge you can go at a distance between 230 to 350 Mi off that one charge. So you get to drive for 5 hours charge for 4 hours and then drive for 5 more hours that's including your 30-minute break and your 15 minute pre-trip and your 15 minute post trip, that is cutting it very close for your 15-hour work day. Plus I could not find anywhere where there may be weight restrictions say that of 70,000 to 80,000 pounds would you still be able to get the same amount of Miles off that same charge? I see where it may be a challenge in the mountain range say that like of Denver Montana Oregon north Cali Wyoming due to the Steep mountains I'm pretty sure it will kill your charge excessively. Yes I will have to agree with you, this will have to be something that's done local where there will be many charging stations. For the miles that I run I will never buy one unless I can get some good contracts locally.

@@truchesirmans7420 Yeah I agree but the numbers your using for your math are a bit off. According to Tesla, the Tesla Semi will have a 500-mile range on a full charge and with its new batteries it would be able to run for 400 miles (650 km) after an 80% charge in 30 minutes using a solar-powered "Tesla Megacharger" charging station. I'm not sure what Nikola's numbers are but I'm assuming the better product will come out of Tesla first. Full scale production of these trucks are still a few years off.
