That producing content as you speak with the people you want to help is the way. Same as recording what you do and publishing. Speak with your audience, not speak to the audience.
Find your own Niche. No matter what you think. Develop your own idea and work at it and stick with it. Also it helps to have some money that allows you to do this. Totally worth it. Seriously.
Biggest takeaway is to make an “impact” and the money will follow. That resonated with me because that is all I ever wanted. As I’ve mentioned before I am comfortable financially but I feel I am called for a greater purpose by a higher power. IMPACT the name of the game.
This is so encouraging. At our movie review channel, we've gone back and forth over the years with not editing at all vs. editing in pieces of trailer and stills to illustrate what we're talking about. There's joy in the creativity, but the efficiency of making it simpler is great too. Thanks, Sean and Michael!
Great conversation. I agree 100% that I love Zoom to record. I find that when I use Streamyard, I tend to over edit and it takes a lot longer. When I use Zoom, the editing is much easier and quicker.
Wow, I feel he justifies my own news channel. I do a 5 day per week news podcast and am arranging side interviews for additional content with industry leaders in my field. With every video, I feel like my speaking skills improve a little.
Until algo knocks you out. Why do you think he's now doing interviews. Look at his last videos they get barely 1k views. Not saying he wasn't doing good. But there comes a time that youtube will destriy you. When. You never know and you rely most of the time on youtube. When people think its easy. Its not. Its high risk business.
If I could just cement the notion of simplicity of editing into my being, I would be able to publish so much more content! Thank you so much for constantly presenting examples of how keeping it simple with great content can still make an impact!
This is so encouraging to me because I started my channel 2 years ago and I know nothing about tech so I have uploaded many videos raw and hoping the content will carry them until I learn more about the editing and technical aspect. Thank you so much for your encouragement and great example!
I love editing... but as someone who is just starting and trying to figure out where I'm going with my content... spending 40hrs on editing is a pain in the a$$... 🤧
Great interview. Man, I lived that exact life as a shadow real estate investor for 40 years while working through a 33 year career as a senior software engineer. It wasn't the engineering job that enabled me to retire but my real estate. Based on my desire to not have to concern myself with tenant issues anymore, I started cashing out of my small real estate portfolio when I retired from my engineering career, and switched gears to an it's only me and my skills life of trading currencies. From that, I started a small following RU-vid channel which I just published my 400th video on (March of 2024), and enjoying life. For sure I'll be buying Michael's book as I still follow the real estate market as once that's in your blood, you have such a passion for it that it's a life interest and not a job, or even a hobby. Another great Think Media interview!
Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. A trader made over $350k in this recession influenced market
Michael and Sean, thanks for more great content. Sitting here at my desk and prepping for another video. Such great creator gold in this video. Be thoughtful about your spending. Invest wisely for continuing cashflow. Seek outside help when it saves you time and allows you to focus on your core skills. Create your own financial vehicle. Continue to put out the content without judging the early efforts. Super interview. Nick
telling people about money and how to do youtube videos as well as making money on youtube channels are a given that people are going to subscribe. it's great that he is able to grow but i want to hear from those who have the other kinds of channels like storytellers, non-gaming channels, non cooking channels. things out of the norm.
"Without editing" always fascinates me - best real estate case study I've seen was a broker who would shoot clips for Instagram by handing the phone to someone and only using AirPods for audio. It can be done! Great video, thank you.
Great video. Just started real estate and was wondering where or how to even begin. I love to talk about it but I’m still learning the industry and the ins and outs. This helps me at least understand how simple the process can be.
I respect your choice to use primes but it’s a personal preference thing. I shot weddings with primes and understood my shots and settings fine. The game changer for me was the 35-150 f2-f2.8 Tamron. You carry two cameras and four lenses, I carry one camera (I have a backup) and two lenses. The 35-150 and a 24 f1.4. I’m not saying my way is better or knocking yours. But you can get great results either way.
Thank you for creating this and sharing it for all of us who have little editing skills but want to share knowledge and information with the RU-vid viewers..
( Does anyone cover the topic of how to be a good channel watcher? ie I let commercials play unless they are pharmaceutical or long programs dumped in over my what I was trying to watch. Do comments help the channel we are watching? What happens if I need to pause the video....for hours? etc etc?)
It was already said at the beginning that he works in real estate, he's written books, he already has a name for himself. It would be great if we could find someone who really came from nothing at all.
Please take the time to watch your video again. The man already had a platform, books, and everything he needed to succeed. Interview someone who started from nothing, had to learn brick by brick how to use social media, didn't have anyone to help them out, and had to fail a million times to succeed. In my opinion, that is what brick-by-brick success is all about.
Some of the most profound ideas are so simple...i never considered no edit videos but the thought is quite relaxing of being ok without perfectionism...thx for the VidIQ suggestion. Subbed to you both. God bless!
Very helpful and edifying interview. I can relate to your story Michael. Walking a similar path. This conversation gave me quite some valuable tips. Thank you for your time and generosity sharing. As for Sean and the Think Media team. I am a big fan of yours. Tooks some courses already and hope to one day do a video podcast with you on my platform whenever you are in the Austin , Texas area.
This was fun. The added plus was transitioning from speaking about channel details to a little about the content of the channel itself. Good luck to everyone!
He's a workaholic... he seems to struggle to not be actively busy and consistently working and progressing which is a huge asset to financial freedom...but not necessarily everyone's happy life when you reach retirement. It's a good lesson that if you're getting a huge amount of pleasure out of your job... you'll never truly work a day in your life and get paid a handsome salary for it.
I see channels with webcam quality cameras and laptop built-in microphones constantly having 7-9k viewers on a live stream and nobody is bothered by it but those channels didn't start because they wanted to make money and be youtubers, they just do what they love and provide quality content, the rest comes with it
Pay attention and try to find out when all the successful YT started channel ? YT isn’t the same today. Most successful YT started channel 10 years ago
@@ThinkMediaPodcast mr. Beats has millions subscribers and Dr. Jordan Peterson who is beyond smarter, touching and professional in his career and he has 250K subscribers. Why ? It’s all what your video about. If it’s about politics and corrupt system RU-vid makes it harder video to go viral. If RU-vid see they can make money they will push out even dummy videos. Personally, I don’t like to wast my time on videos like Kardashians or Mr. Beats games. I would not watch his videos even someone pay me money, because it’s boring and doesn’t benefit my life. I enjoy videos which inspiring and makes people a better human being.
Read zooms new terms and conditions you have to tick to use. It gives zoom permissions to use and train ai on all your zoom conversations, interviews etc.
Thank you for the video. Is there one that will definitely work ? Just trying to make some extra money at the minute. Would be grateful for some help. Thanks
Comment & Question: enjoyed this talk. And, it caused me to move forward with my first video. Reason being; you mentioned live-streaming into YT with Zoom. And, I’m way better at going live versus pre-recording and uploading. So, I did it! But, the problem is that on my RU-vid profile it saves under a tab called “livestream” versus in my videos. And, that could be a problem because usually people only look at people’s videos not livestreams, well at least me. Any guidance on this?
I am so glad that he said 100 percent recession. The key term is that recession will happen at some point in the future. Almost everything is cyclical.
young american video editors need to start concentrating on AE/motion graphics. it's where you'll be able to make a living until you crack into the RU-vid world where creators in the Mr.Beast world would actually pay a respectable rate. Someone needs to bring attention to how even the overseas editors are taken advantage as well.
I started 3 months ago doing the live 15 to 20 min show streaming on FB and YT no edits it has not been working as well, but it is probably a seo problem. This is inspiration because I could keep going with no editing ☺️
If only. Each of my videos take me 20+ hours to research, write, film and edit. I wish I had something value to talk about straight from my head with no preparation. (My channel is about different things in trying to heal from "terminal cancer".)
How can I grow my Chanel from 900 Subscribers to get monetized? I've had a youtube channel for 14 years without pushing through a traumatic brain injury I acquired while home on leave from the army in 2009.
